Brian, Are you planning to do the ride at 10 am or just make the meeting at 3 pm. Do you want to meet up for breakfast before we ride, or do you want to head right up? The planned ride at New Roc starts at 10 am and sign in is at 9:30 am. It takes about 40 mins to get there from Cedarhurst. My wife and I plan on riding, but we do not have cold weather gear so it will depend on the weather. We will be going to the meeting at 3 pm in a car or riding.(I know we're whimps). OK guys, this is it...... Brian, my wife and I are all members of New Roc Brag!!!! Due to the lack of attention from Nassau Harley the three of us went to the first "meeeting" of the BRAG group in New Rochelle. It was very laid back. The HOG meeting has about 50 people at it. The focus was more on HOG but the owner of the dealership does want to see the Brag group grow. The real "first meeting" will be on April 9 Sunday. Anyone who wants to go leave a message and I will get in touch with you. There will be some perks w/ the group. | ||

Tom and Tricia, Brian called me yesterday to see if I was going to go up to NRHD on Sunday. I am in. I would like to leave early in the morning and take a good ride up in the mountains and than back to NRHD on the way back. I will be calling Brian today to see what he wants to do. Are you two in? Tom, The meeting was good. There were 6 or 7 of use. The next meeting will be on the second Sunday of the month. We decided to try to do a ride once a month at 9:00 am. the same day as the meeting. Than back to the dealer by 12:00 for a BBQ that they will be having every Sunday. After the BBQ will be the meeting. The owner seems like a nice guy and would really like this to work out. He mentioned that he would like his dealership to become the #1 Buell Dealer in the country. He will have a lot of work ahead of him. Lets see if we can help him out. picking up this a.m. after i called them around 4:30p fri, too late to arrange a ride and too wet to care...lol will advise... note: all recieved the newsletter? change in our next meeting? i will not be able to make the "ride" on may 21rst as i will be at mid-ohio racetrack that weekend... not an impressive visit to nrhd this first time. dropped of on wednesday afternoon and service manager said he would ride the bike personally due to my concerns re: k&n and muffler with no race ecm... 1) no communication from dealer re:status of bike 2) when i called them the hold times ranged from ~30sec. to 4 minutes(before hanging up and retrying) 3) there is residue from the old weights left on my wheels(plus they are dirty- fingerprints) which leads me to believe that someone is not taking pride in their work... 4) 250.00 inl tax...we charge 135/hr for ferrari labor and one hour each to mount and balance tires you brought in, but the car is returned clean and if i tell someone i am going to do something, i make sure it gets done. the bikes mileage did not change...no one test drove it but everyone i asked said that someone else had road tested it...that bothers me most. Well...... I cannot say that I am taken back. I did have high hopes for the dealership. At least we have a BRAG group out of it. As far as service....I guess we are on our own still. I do like the newsletters. It seems like they are trying. | ||

For service, I found Gerard at Rolling Thunder in West Hempstead to be top notch. He did a better job on my Cyclone than ANY of the local dealers. One exception: When I first bought the bike from Hempstead Harley, they had a Buell mechanic who was the BEST. He and his wife moved here from Virginia and they both rode Buells. Eventually, he went to Lighthouse Harley and Hempstead's service went right into the can. By the time I gave up on Hempstead and Bellmore and took it out to Lighthouse, they were no longer a Buell dealer and that mechanic left. I have no idea where he might be now. All I know is that his name was "John" (never knew his last name). I haven't taken my XB12Ss to Rolling Thunder yet, but I expect Rolling Thunder to do just as good a job on it as they did on the Cyclone. | ||

What.....do you hack into my calander to see what days I cannot ride.....This sucks. We have plans on Saturday. Its for a good cause though. Have a good ride and be safe. |
