Don't forget, CCS Racing at Summit Point, WV this WEEKEND. I'm going Sunday, I'll lead a ride leaving Ft Washington, HD/Buell at 8 am SUNDAY Morning, stopping at the Roy Rogers in Leesburg at 9:30 or so to pick up VA riders, then on to the track. I'm working on a Sunday ride to Taneytown for a bikefest going on up there. Maybe we'll end up in Summit Point. Haven't been to the track yet. Are there any plans for a group ride/camp @ Summit Point for the Memorial day weekend "Festival of Speed"? I'd definitely like to get something going with the Ft. Washington group. | ||

Hmmmm.. Sorry I missed the meeting.. I would have loved to be there, but I was still recovering from my Friday. Got up at 0500 and then spent the rest of the day riding VIR with TPM. Left VIR around 1830 and got home around 2300. Spent a little while talking to the wife who was in CA on business.. then hit the rack.  Didn't even wake up until something like 1000 on Saturday morning. Friday (the 5th) I'm gonna try and get my bike into Frederick for that check over and turn signal /  DRUMMER SS  installation and a few other minor things.. Saturday (the 6th) I'm leading a ride with my cruiser club. Sunday sounds like a good day to head up to Summit Point and pull out the camera!  I'll have to be riding my H-D (if I ride) since the Buell will be in the shop still. I'll be riding (TPM again) on the 14th & 15th at Summit Point again! (ok, my track daze will slow down now to one a month.. really... I think...)  | ||

Chris Ft Washington BRAG meetings are the First Saturday of each month at 10 AM. So the next one is Saturday May 6. Come on down! We'll ride somewhere, maybe to Summit if people want to go to the races both days. However, I don't recommend going only on Saturday cause the tickets are $25 for Saturday/Sunday. You can't buy a Saturday only ticket. If you can only go one day, go Sunday the tickets are only $15. Mio We're taking Rt 7 west into Leesburg, stopping at the Roy Rogers restaurant on the westboutd Rt 7 between Plaza St and Catoctin Circle. You could meet us there. Ramon Memorial Day, it would be cool if we could get BRAG led rides from Frederick, Ft Washington and other local dealers (Winchester, East Coast?) to meet at the track and hang out. That weekend is tough there are so many things going on, good thing we have three days to do them. | ||

Ras, The total cost will vary greatly, but I got a nice used leather 1 piece track suit for $200, new tires and installation $350, new brakes and installation (front and back)$125 and finally, $250 for the ART Basic track day. The tires will be the greatest expense as I only expect to get 2 maybe 3 track days out of them. However, I still feel it is worth while since the stuff I learned is invaluable. You can rent all the gear from them if you are not sure if this will be a re-occuring thing. I will also be at the track day at TPM Summit point on either the 14th (Shenandoah) or 15th (Main). I may do the 14th just to do a different track. The ART Basic is more money than just doing the track day and also, NESBA track days are usually a little cheaper as well. I just enjoyed the controlled environment of the TPM day because of my inexperience. Mio | ||

I could probably get away with that with my mom, but the one I can't is my wife. Mother's day is a pretty big thing in our house with my wife and my 2 daughters. | ||

Mio...  BRING HER WITH YOU! Heck, Bring the kids, some toys, a bicycle or two.. make a day of it.. There are some folks that do that.. Really, I've seen it before. Jose... Coolness. I'll be driving up there Sunday morning myself.. and back again on Monday.  (I think this is my last 'multi-day' for several months) I'll have my 'tent' with me (it's a really cheap shelter, but it's better then nothing) and at least one can of gas. Are you towing your bike as well or riding up there? If not towing, I could haul some of your stuff for you. Speaking of stuff.. Mio, if you do the Saturday, then I can just bring your gear back to you that way!  hehehehehehehe.. See, another reason for the wife to come out with you on Mom's day. She gets to meet some of the loonies you're spending time with and figure out that she needs to start riding herself!  | ||

HD Frederick BRAG Notes: May 7th Rides Looks like rain for Saturday and there are a few people interested in riding Sunday so we're moving our weekly ride to Sunday. Fortunately or unfortunately (depending on how you view things) there are two events people are interested in attending, both within riding distance (in two opposite directions) both this Sunday. Event 1: Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship Series @ Summit Point Motorsports Park. Schedule of events: http://www.ccsracing.com/venues/2006/summit.html (click on the "Weekend Schedule" link for race times) We will be leaving early Sunday morning for this preferably before 9 am (dress appropriately, it will be chilly in the morning). We'll leave here between 1130-1230 to head back to Frederick/Taneytown. Event 2: Taneytown Spring Bike Show http://www.abate-of-maryland.org/ We'll pick up those attending this event on our way back from Summit Point then ride to Taneytown. Times are kind of floating right now as I don't know who wants to go to what yet. I'd like to get an idea of who will be coming, please reply and let me know which ride you want to do. -Ramon | ||

I'm thinking of going Saturday also, depending if the DCBRAG folks want to go two days in a row. Remember, Saturday will cost you $25, because it's a Saturday/Sunday ticket. If you are only going one day, go Sunday, it's only $15 to get in. | ||

Jose, Ok, then all we need to do is find a decent spot where we're not straining to hear our group being called. Sunday, I'll be driving the truck up to the race (most likely) since I'll have all my camera gear with me. I'll have to see if there is a pit bike I can borrow so I don't have to a)walk the whole way around - b)take the truck to every stop. I'm working on a plan right now for where to shoot from.. I need to get with a few folks and figure out who/when/what race kind of stuff.. (ahh if I'm gonna 'work' for free.. I at least get to have fun watching to Buells race!) |
