Jackie,
Sounds like you got the makings of a good squirrel dog in "ole Nut's". Just give him about a thirty yard lead and he'll turn everyone of those rascal's for you. As long as you give him time to stop and pee every once in awhile....LOL...Charlie

That's all right there Jackie, I have thick enough skin to suffer the slings and arrows of my friends. What was that we were discussing about cockroaches today? So I tend to attract wind and rain; I have the bladder of a house mouse and can't sit still for longer than 10 minutes. You haven't ever caught ME bailing on you have you? Wait until you see what special considerations I bring to fishing!!

Charlie, good to hear from you as always. Would you believe that fellow posting above has yet to have the tire I gave him installed. I believe you told him last summer that thing needed changing. All it costs him is $10 and he can't make that a priority. Sheesh, what'll it take? Maybe I'll see you at VIR this year, It;d be nice to try and chase you around again. NUTS

Nut's,
Sitting down here getting older and slower on these "ole flat roads and square corners". You getting all that practice on those wonderfully chalenging roads. I would most likley have a hard time keeping up with you, especially if you just finished a big drink and it was twenty miles to the next stop...LOL
As for Jackie and his front tire, well he's gonna have to learn the hard way. It cost me a couple of ribs, but I won't forget that lesson...........Charlie

Charlie,
I spend so much time washing it that I don't have any left over to ride it or change the tire. Seriously though, since riding season is upon us it is going to be taken care of in the next week or so.
Definately don't want to learn the hard way since I'm already falling apart at the seams as it is.
So how many snakes have you run across this year. If me and my buddy make the hunting trip down there we plan on making a side trip to photograph the local Reptile and Amphibian population.
Nuts,
I ain't never bailed. It was more like rescheduling.
If you don't want to have to carry my fat self out of the woods then you will keep the roaches to yourself. I'm libel to throw a clot or have a seizure fit if you get one near me.
Don't worry about your shortcomings. You more than make up for it with a fine personality and razor sharp wit. I am looking forward to observing how steathily you can wade through the streams. I already have visions of you tripping and flopping around screaming Hep me!, Hep me!
In all seriousness, your hunting skills are coming right along and your calling today was top notch. Don't let it go to your head though because you still have to call me one into the gun next week.
See ya Sunday for our 1st annual Spring Smallmouth blowout.
"Hello head". "Goodbye balls". "Get the horses". "Get the men". "Get me an icepack!". We left those out today.

Jackie, I was crying from laughing so hard yesterday. I was half tempted to go get myself a dvd club membership and rent that fine "Mel Brooks Production"! I think the memory of you reciting it is much better though. I will be caught up with "Blazing Saddles" by the next time we go chasing those birds. When I go fishing I have to wear this good luck necklace; it's made using six authentic cowbells and has an airhorn attatchment that needs to be "used" every seven minutes! I'm sure you'll hear all about it.

Charlie, I do not want to suffer broken anything. I am especially wary of having my skin scrubbed with scotchbrite without anesthesia. I need to stop throwing money at things that go bang and get myself some quality gear. I'd love to see the look on Jackie's face when I show up wearing a full fluorescent racing suit! Have you seen the XB chassis with the Blast motor in it on another page? I think that'd be a pretty cool little ride. NUTS

Oh man don't even get me started on Blazing Saddles! That one is even better than History Of The World. Pretty tasteless by todays' standards but still can't help but laugh at it.
I can't wait to see you use your fishing necklace. It can't be any worse than you hocking loogies while trying to remain undetected by a wary gobbler. Smallmouth fishing is odd business. Sometimes they are on and sometimes you can't buy a bite. When they are on it is usually very, very good.
I could only find one trap but I will set it tonight in the hopes we can score enough bait. If not, we may have to get our feet wet and do some seining.

Go ahead and put your canepole away for the time being. The river and creeks are so muddy it would be a waste of time.
What days are you off this coming week?
I went to the club again and shot some CCI TNT loads tonight. They shot amazingly well! Tight groups all the way out to 100 yards. I got some clay fragments and set them at 100 yards and then proceeded to make them explode quite regularly. All I can say is with a steady rest this thing is a varmints nightmare.
I predict after you witness how well it does you will FINALLY break and get one.

Hey, Yo Jack, did I give you the Hornady boxes? I'm pretty sure I bought the correct cartridges: you must have made another trip for more ammo. Keith called me last night to see if we were riding today. So I guess I might find myself out after 4:00. This week I'll be off Wednesday. I have the In-Law arriving Thursday and not leaving until Sunday. I might be able to get some fun in somewhere's but I'll have to check with the boss. NUTS

Yeah I shot the Hornadys up the night I called you about hearing the Coyotes and Gobblers. I picked up the CCI stuff yesterday while out buying some 4 pound Trilene. Since the wind was calm I decided to mosy on up and do some shootin'. It was nice because I had the whole place to myself and between groups I just sat there and enjoyed the silence.
As I told you before, rimfire shooting is a year round thing with me. Keeps you in good form for deer season and is just plain fun. Next trip up I am going to sight in the 30/06. Far from enjoyable but needs to be done since I put the Leupold on there.
I am going to try my hand at our bird again in the morning to see if I can finish the game. Heck I may even shoot the groundhog I was saving for you since you ain't ever going to do it.
By the way, Mike said that when we go hog hunting with him the average shot is over 200 yards! Going to make it mighty difficult for you and the 10/22. Them hogs will probably fall over laughing since your bullet will drop over 2 feet at that distance. The HMR is zeroed at 40 yards which gives me a usable range of 130 yards without holdover. At 200 yards I will have to compensate about 2 inches. If they are standing and I aim for the head then it should connect right in the chest cavity.
Just tell the boss that you NEED the outdoor time or you will go crazy from the stresses of your job. She can't argue with that now can she? Besides you will be home by 12:45 anyways so just have them sleep in those days.
Games start this coming Saturday and it really gets crazy from there until the end of May. Average of 6 games a week between my two teams and another 3 with Arielles' team. Plus pracitce every day as usual. This is the time of year I always ask myself "how did I get sucked into this"?

Nuts,
Two Gobblers in the usual place and STILL no luck! We have got to get one of those birds since they are starting to really upset me. I did manage to call in one hen. I also saw a ton o' deer and best of all a Bobcat! I was sitting at the edge of the ridge and he just walked right on past about 20 yards out, jumped on a fallen tree and just sit there and looked at me.
Also ran across two Black Rat Snakes and the first Timber Rattler of the year sunning on the rocks. After seeing it I started to really pay attention to where I put my feet.
Walked along the old logging road we discovered and saw a bunch more Bear droppings. Loaded with seeds so they must have found a berry stash somewhere.
Have you found me a bike yet? I must shamefully admit I did check out the Cooper and Ceasar Guerini websites. Oh how the wheels are turning!
WED. IS THE MORNING IT IS GONNA HAPPEN!!!

Chauly,
Thanks for the heads up!
KTM is a fine bike but a bit out of my price range. Right now I am mulling over either a Honda XR650L or XR650R with the street kit. Can't decide if the water cooled is the way to go.
Usually Ebay is loaded with them but now that I am seriously looking they are few and far between. Seems like it always works that way huh?

Chauly,
Good looking bike!
I am very partial to the Honda line since I started on an XR80 and had various XR and CR models throughout my childhood and early 20s'. I hope they are good as I remember.
I used to sail them things threw the air at tremendous heights until I bailed off the side of a cliff. The wound took over a year to heal because I declined the skin graft. That pretty much cured my bravado. Shame too because the chicks used to really dig it when I'd fly over the pine trees and stick a beautiful rear wheel landing. My coolness factor has decreased exponentially ever since I hit thirty several years ago. Oh how I long for the old days of groups like Poison, Motley Crue, Stryper, big hair and care free living.

Chauly's KTM is essentially the street legal Dakar bike of about 10 years ago. That is a fine single cylinder motored beast alright. The cases are top quality items too. That color is ORANGE brother. Big tank big wheels and looks to be a ton of fun. The new Adventures are 950 cc twins that run in the $13k range. If I had cash I would seriously be considering that bike. Maybe Chauly would be interested in a near perfect Firebolt? I know a guy who is looking to get out of fast bikes. NUTS

Jackie, the Monarch sells for about $250 and the NEF anywhere between $120 and $160. Maybe I'll get the Kimber .22 and put the monarch on it and then have to get a bigger scope for the NEF. Decisions, decisions. Rainy day dreaming. NUTS

I'd forget that Kimber. When I looked at it I distinctly remember that the wood was not very nice. On a less expensive gun it wouldn't be a problem but you are paying a premium for a gun that should be fitted to a good chunk o' wood.
I still say the Anschutz is the gun you should go with. Just save until you can afford it and then be done with it once and for all.
I went and scouted a nice 100 +/- acre plot that I may be able to gain access to. I ran across several fresh Turkey and Deer droppings as well as tracks. Tried the calls but couldn't get a gobble. Just like last night I think the weather played a large part in the birds being closed mouthed.
In addition it looks like it could very well be a Fox/Raccoon hunters dream due to the cover and terrain. Open fields with blowdowns and woods on both sides. Set up on one of the far corners with the caller out in the middle of a field and watch the critters come running. Not to mention that Back Creek runs right through it.
I should know by tomorrow if I have permission so we may be set for Friday morning.

Charlie,
The rumor is true. I have indeed sold the Bolt'. After me and Nuts had our close encounter with the deer and multiple cars I lost my nerve. I just never could get back on it without thinking about that day and how close we came to disaster.
I am giving thought to a dual sport but my family is oppossed to the idea. First they know how I used to ride dirt bikes and secondly they are concerned something will happen while off road and since I would be by myself would essentially be screwed.
I find myself pondering the idea of acquiring some more high end firearms since I seem to enjoy the shooting sports more than anything else I have ever done.
Now that I am back on the Skeet board I need to get a nice sporting shotgun.
I got Nuts to try it once but don't think he enjoyed it too much. From memory he broke 11 or 12 out of 25 which ain't half bad considering he had never done it before. Maybe I can twist his arm into giving it another go.
What say you Jason? Now that I have the keys to the throwers we can go up and practice by ourselves. That way you can brush up on your prowess and then impress the crap out of the old timers on the weekend.
We have got to do some fishin' this weekend. I rolled by the river today and it looks ripe for the picking. Just let me know the night before so I can set out the trap. Sunday afternoon would be great since I don't have any games or other obligations.

Good! Take that money you saved and by a freakin' .17HMR!! Just think about it, you had already figured you were going to have to spend it anyway so get to it man.
I just got my Leupold 6x-18x-40mm AO mounted on the LVT. The Nikon was awesome but I wanted something with even more power to see if I could tighten up those 100 yard groups. Besides, you know me and brand names BWAHAHAHA!
Plan on getting up to the club tomorrow after the games to sight in. I should be able to make it up there with an hour or so of daylight left.
Tomorrows agenda consists of a double header in the morning, 10 and under at 1:00 and 8 and under at 3:00. Let the fun begin!!
Having a little mini game tonight between the 8under and 10under if you get hard up for entertainment. Starts at 6:00 at the lower field.
