Bob,

Richie and myself rode up. Frank and bill followed in the van with the trailer. The dealership was awesome, got to meet a bunch of people from the sites, bought a few goodies for the scoot, sampled as much as I could from about thirty different kettles of goo. mild to wild on the chili and worth every bite, it helped that it was miserably cold and someone talked Frank out of breakfast! so we were hungry. It was a great time.

Sam...Was any of the chili made with "wild" meats?...Also, I was going to award the "V" for valor award to you and Richie as riders but on second thought it should probably go to the brave and intrepid person who talked Frank out of a breakfast stop...Sounds like you guys had a great trip...I just parked the scooter after about seventy miles of tiptoeing through the snow...Just didn't time the end of the ride day quite right...

See Ya!

Bob

The chili I made was made with venison.

Well Dave, then I'm really sorry I missed out...That's about as good as chili can get...Venison really seems to add something special to either good chili or stew...I know that "white" chili is all the rage but I'm more of a traditionalist...And it doesn't have to be five alarm although I like mine really hot but with a little hot sauce on the side everyone can be happy...Congrads on an apparent great event...We'll have to plan a ride as soon as the weather breaks and get up to see you...Are you planning on doing any of the BRAG rides this year?...John and I are going to do the Arizona event in October...

See Ya!

I think you guys got it all wrong! Sam and Richie weren't the brave ones on this trip!! Frank and Bill were!! sample 30 differnet types of chili then get back in a van for several hours!!! Riding a motorcycle in the open air after an event like that was probably the best way to return home! :)

Just to set the record straight.....

it was about five hours each way,(maybe 340 miles), Richie and I rode to waterloo, and due to icing problems with our visors (yes, ice formation on the inside and outside) Richie decided to ride back in the comforts of the van. We loaded his bike in waterloo and headed south. At my second gas stop south of Des Moines I called Frank and Bill to find out where they were and amazingly they were across the highway at the same exit! (we got seperated at the first turn-off out of waterloo, I went the wrong way) They asked how I was doing, and I told them my chaps weren't working(pulled a wire) and my toes were cold (Frank said the bank display showed 19 deg.) anyhow, they buzzed over and I sat in the van for a minute.....and that was all it took! So I only made it for 180 miles on the return. loaded the bike right there and put the feet on the heater vents for the ride back. so there's another reason the van was an atrocity of aromatic endeavors for the return trip. would have liked to been able to brag about making it all the way both directions but sometimes you win/lose....dragging the trailer with us paid off! don't think I would have enjoyed another 160 miles Sat.

So does any one make a defogger/de-icer for visors? what do the snow-mobile people do?

Got time to post the pics!

Great meeting all of you, hope to see you again soon, hopefully it will be warmer!

p.s. Sno-mobile visors have two lenses with a slight gap in-between them to give them an air cushion to keep from frosting(the same principal as with double pane glass in your house windows)

Sam...Just get a Fog City, the more expensive one, of course...Leslie called me earlier in the year as Lee (her hubby) was fogging and frosting on his daily ride to the H-D skunkworks...I suggested a Fog City and he is very happy with it and that's in Wisconsin!...Fog City's work on the same principle as the two panes of glass with an insulating air pocket...Only trick to them is getting them aligned...

Ok, we know who the four suspects are in the middle of the first pic but how about the two bookends?...

See Ya!

Great meeting you Craig and Dave. Daves wife took the picture. Dave had her set on the xb9slow to see if she could touch the ground flat footed. Nope. Tip toe. 5'2" not quite tall enough for flat footed. But I think she could handle it. Dave can back her up if need be. I enjoyed the get trip. Good to meet you guys.
