Hey Jewels,
I'm watching THE movie right now. Jewels is currently in the coffee shop and telling Honey Bunny to be cool and Vince is taking a dump. They just got done discussing their miracle.
This movie never gets old regardless of how many times you watch it.
Give me a call around 1:30 to let me know what we're getting into.

It sure seems like you get these crazy notions of selling that bike AFTER midnight. So what's the deal; are you selling, hoping or just want something new. I know how that goes and I can see where a dual sport would be fun on some of the backroads.

I did not mean to offend just stating what I recalled of the episode. I braked, moved to the right and watched the drama unfold. My adrenaline was pumping as much as any of the drivers, so much in fact I don't recall having to brace myself against the force of slowing aggressively. I believe I would be the "Vincent" and the dubious honor of "Jules" could comfortably filled by you ; my thin skinned friend. After all it's "Jules" who is getting out of the business.

WOW, Glad ya'll made it with only soiled shorts.

Nuts, saw your TFI for sale. A few months ago, I would be all over that. But now the new VDSTSDTSVSDTS.. err, software looks like the way to go.

Tank, Well the TFI will eventually go to someone willing to spend the time to fine tune it. After pulling my plugs last night I was surprised to find the TFI had not affected them. They were as described in the manual (white, clean) indicating proper combustion. I've been trying to get away from "performance" mods as I'd like to spend more money in riding experience. I rode the bike this morning and can tell the TFI has been removed, it's just missing that little bit of oomph. I am afraid to think what is going to happen when everyone get's the DVTSTVSTVSDS whatever, and it has a problem. The TFI is more flexible and only an hour dyno session from perfection on any bike. XB12-XB12 there will be slight differences in motor function and a downloadable map will not account entirely for this. If you want more power then I would suggest the TFI or PC111(although that requires O2 sensor swap), or the Buell Race Kit. That's my story and I'm stickin to it. NUTS

Sorry, I meant Direct link. Not the DVDSTDR2D2 one. Need to find out a way to do real world datalogging/tuning without a dyno. Wonder if that can work on a PDA. Maybe I should post this in Al's section. So many ideas, so little money.

Tank, same stuff, it isn't Buell produced and they don't allow for slight variations. That being said our local Buell racer swears by the Direct Link and Micron exhaust. Also the open airbox mods; but this is a racebike that will actually use the performance. I still think the way to go for street bikes would be the TFI and an hour of dyno time. Tfi works and is only a dyno adjustment away. If your Direct Link "fuzzes, hiccups, etc...) what can you do? "Hey Al, this thing is making my bike suck can you diagnose it over the phone for me?" Personally I would like to have my Drummer sound with the Factory XB12 exhaust valve. I actually tested one and found it just too loud. I'm going to start hopping up the real performance now.....Me! I'm with ya on the "real performance"!!

Just doing some daydreaming. I need a new computer for my car, too. I am hoping to kill 2 birds(vehicles) with one stone(laptop). Gonna be expensive though. Maybe I should just stick with giving myself a tune-up for now.

Once again no offense taken. Just stating you must have nerves of steel to witness that mess and recall it so nonchalantly.
Whew my back is KILLING me today!! I am currently laying here waiting for the muscle relaxers to kick in so I can get up and feed/water the turtles.
I MAY get a chair and sit outside to try and polish the bike the best I can but don't know if its worth it since I won't be able to bend down to clean the rims.
Sorry about bailing on ya today but I don't think I can tolerate the walking and bending that comes with fishing.

I mentioned selling the bike to get a dual sport a few threads ago and still am entertaining the idea. I know tons of back roads like we went on the other day and I think you will be the first to admit they are more suited for an XR instead of an XB. As I've always said the quick corners aren't really my game and think I would enjoy cruising way out in the country more than carving the curves. Although I will say that the other day, for whatever reason, I felt like my riding was "on" and was feeling pretty confident. I guess its a mind thing.

Tank,
Hows the weather out your way? I saw three snakes (two Garters and one Northern Water) on our ride the other day. Its' getting close to that time of year when everything starts coming out of brumation full time. Maybe around the middle of May we can plan our trip?

Weather is very nice!!
Freakin' bees everywhere already. Also got some baby squirrels 10yds. out the back door. Cool little dudes.

Mid May...I'll be headed near your way...
The 15th(mon) is when I signed up for the school at VIR, got e-mail confirm. yesterday. I'll be packing Sat and leaving here Sunday AM.(still need to find a place to stay)
The next weekend would be cool though.

Still planning to meet Nuts for the free Pro-motion thing, too. Let me know which day you are going. I just realized that is Memorial day weekend, too.

Gobble, gobble, gobble!! Two ridges over. His buddy came within 15 yards without saying a word before he saw Jasper jumping around. Their heads have taken on the breeding colors so they should be fired up for next weekend.
The deer have fawned as well so we may want to consider some Coyote calling in the near future. Ohh, I forgot you only have a .22LR. Not enough for them dirty dogs. Well you can always just tag along and watch me add another rug to my collection.
I managed to find a few Worm Snakes and Five Lined Skinks as well as several types of Salamanders which was a welcome change from the days of Winter. I need you to go with me one day if you would to help me lay out my tin and boards for the coming snake season. Let me know when is convenient for you during the week.
The .40 shot wonderfully. It has a smooth trigger pull both SA and DA and proved to be quite accurate for such a short barrel. I shot steel silhouttes at 15 yards and hit center mass 44 out of 50 shots. Not too shabby.
The CCP course is Sat and Sun this weekend. I guess since we are going after a longbeard we will have to go on Sunday. Hopefully you will get a paycheck before then so you can pick up that Anschutz .17 HMR after the class.

I will be calling you at 11:00 tomorrow morning if my back is feeling a little better. If you get here around 11:30 we can go get the minners and be at the first fishing spot by 12:00. The wind is supposed to pick up tomorrow which makes for rough casting with light tackle but it beats sitting inside I guess.

Welp,
The thunderstorms are rolling in and it is pouring down the rain. I guess it is a wash out for tomorrow. It is supposed to blow over but the rain and cloud cover will cool down the water temps and drive the fish deeper and make them lethargic.
What does the rest of the week look like for you?

I'll be ready for the 11 or 12 though. Monday the 10th I don't have to work until 11am if you wanted to make a short trip that'd work too. Let me know. NUTS

SWEET!
I am diggin' it although you know how I am about polymer frames. The guy tried to sell me on a Glock and I told him I wanted all metal. He seemed to think I was crazy.
No wonder it kicks. Titanium and polymer equals recoil. My S&W .40 may be heavy but recoil is very manageable. I may be wishing for a lighter one though when it starts pulling my drawers down.
Pretty stoked about the class on Sunday and just want to get it over with. Make sure you bring some chaw because I am sure it will be quite boring. Now that you bought the pistol I guess we don't even have to go through the show since we are both broke!
Should have the Cooper by the end of next week. Once I get it back and we get up to the club for some shooting I imagine you will come up with a way to get you a .17 HMR in short order.

You know it Buddy! I awoke this morning wondering if Cooper will be sending the LVT directly to you or will you have to make another trip to Dominion? After having been stuck indoors all-day yesterday I'm itchin to get out an locate one of them struttin birds. It looks like Sunday could be a full day- CC class 11-2:30, 4-6 maybe a little shooting, and 6-8 we'll be a roostin some birds. Followed Monday by an intense, adrenaline riddled Tom encounter. Notice I left out the "kill" part, because nothing is guaranteed! NUTS

I have spoken with Rob Bier over at Cooper on several occasions and he knows to send it to me. We'll see if that happens though. Either way I'll just be happy to get it back and give it a try! May even bust a bird with it way out at 125 yards or so just to sell you on getting one.
The other day I drove to the 300 meter mark on the range and checked for sign. There were turkey tracks and drags everywhere as well as several coyote tracks. I think I am going to try my hand at getting one to come in a day or two after the Cooper gets here. Worst case is I sit out in the beautiful weather caressing my new rifle and experimenting with the new call.
As always your welcome to come along.

Sunday evening should be fun since there is a good chance of having a gobbler answer our calls. I still remember the excitement you got off of the hen last Fall who was just clucking at us. I can't wait to see your face when a big ole' Tom lights up the woods with a gobble! Been doing it for almost two decades and it still gives me an adrenaline rush.

Man we had an AWESOME practice today for both the 8 and under and the 10 and under!
They looked really decent and are coming along nicely when they truly try.
The 10 and under coach is pretty much quitting because of his workload which leaves me with two teams. Gotta find some way to balance the games though since some are bound to conflict with one another.
Stop by on Friday night and maybe they will put on a good show for ya' (course probably not since you are a jinx).

What is that a KTM?
If you replaced the orange with yellow and left the black it would be PERFECT!
Strypermobile in da' house man.
A few more days and I'll be in the woods at the crack o' dawn. Since I ain't gonna be able to roost them I am going to try and intercept their movement from the field to the backside of the 100 meter range. If that don't work I'll head up to our lucky spot and sit on the backside (where all the rocks are) and get them as they enter from the 350 meter mark.
The excitement level is getting quite high! Feel like a kid waitng on Christmas.

Man once again the 8 and unders put forth a fine effort making 75% of the plays. The 10 and unders are gonna be hurting because they keep getting rained out and then don't show up half the time.

Tomorrow is the day! I am hoping the rain will keep the other fellers out of the woods and in bed so I have the place all to myself. If I whack anything I will BE SURE to post some pics for ya' .

Got up to the top of the logging road at 6:30 a.m.. Let out a little kee-kee run and BAM 3 gobbles right above me on the ridge where I knew they would be. Sat down and waited for the fly down which took about 20 minutes. The two biggest flew down towards a group of hens down at the 400 meter range and the smallest went down where the Raccoons rolled down the hill.
No sooner than they fly down the sky open up with torrential downpours!
Since there was another guy hunting the range I had to let them go without a stalk but figured I would give the small one a try. I sat in the rain for 2 hours calling soflty then loudly to try and bring him and his girls in. As soon as I was about to give up I see one hen coming around the bend followed in short order by 3 more but no gobbler. I figured "great I sat in the rain all this time for a group of hens"! I continued watching for about 20 minutes and let out a series of final yelps before calling it quits. WHAM, the woods lit up with a gobble. Five minutes later I see that ole' white head strutting up through the bottom where he hooked up with the group of hens. I slowly moved positions to get in front of them and managed to call him away from the hens and towards my calls. Now I usually don't shoot young birds but I figured I deserved it for sitting in the rain for 2 1/2 hours. BOOM, down the hill he rolls and I had my bird!
Notice how wet and disheveled he looks in the picture. That should tell you how hard it was raining. I was going to wear my camos for the pic but they were so wet you could wring water out of them.
Anyway, It was a blast and still quite exciting even though you weren't there to witness my fine hunting prowess.
