Some of you may be "on the fence" regarding the 2006 BUELL HOMECOMING. . . kinda that sorta "well, maybe I will, maybe I won't" sort of indifference.

I'm going to suggest that you come off the fence and start nailing down the travel arrangements. I don't need you guys hounding me after the fact...saying "I wish I'd known".

We're in for an unbelievably good time. Miss this at your peril.

Here's what I can add for you Outie,
Friday night at 6pm,group photo in the parking lot that Comp Todd can email to you if you give him your email address.
I'll be grillin the Johnsonville brats(with some help) and we will also have chips and soda for everyone.
I have a small gift for all that come to our cookout(while supplies last).
Friday night after the parking lot cookout, you are on your own.
By the way Court, I'm cutting it off at 9 pm, 9:30 is past my bedtime!

Sat morning, meet at the host hotel and ride in groups of 15-20(I don't like HUGE groups to ride in) to Road America.
I will also have maps for those that don't like to ride in groups at all.
I'm thinking kickstands up at 9:00 am
What I'd like to do is find a meeting spot in Elkhart Lake so we could re-group into a HUGE group to ride the last couple miles to the track and make a grand entrance of Buells.
What's everyone think of that idea?

Sat night, I'm thinking most will want to hang in Elkhart Lake and listen to Erik's band?

Sunday morning, repeat of Sat morning?

How many of you are going to Sunday's races?
There is a lot of good riding up here and I could have some suggested routes mapped out for you if there is enough interest.

In a week or so I will start a thread asking for a head count of who's coming to Appleton so we can plan more details.

Like Court says, make plans and reservations now or regret it later.

Dave...Thanks for the input.

You have filled in the blanks on my calendar quite nicely, especially since I spaced it on a little thing called "Sleep."

Now all I have to do is find a way to quell an Anxiety Attack between now and homecoming.

>>>I'm cutting it off at 9 pm

I stand corrected. : )

I can tell ya that Friday, Saturday and Sunday are all looking more fun by the minute.

We need a sign that says

ELVES AT WORK

The wheels in East Troy are turning. . . I've never seen a group so intent on making certain Buell owners are in for a great time.

Just my opinion....but then, I'm partial to a good time!

How cool would it be for Hal's to work up something at the track with their race team and all? How many folks would love to talk to those highly esteemed gentlemen? Hello! Me!

It's all positive. Let's try to avoid reading anything more into stuff than is for sure there. Sometimes Court is just being Court, another one of us jazzed up Buell enthusiasts simply expressing his own personal thoughts/plans not to mention elfish notions that constantly invade his consciousness. It's all good great! : ) Trust me, being Court is no picnic. ;) I mean look at the characters who claim to be his friends! joker

I agree that it will be tough for any other event to compete with seeing the XBRR(s) at the track on Saturday afternoon. So maybe consider working that to the Hals group advantage? Would that be possible? Could we get the venerable Hals racing folks including Mike and Terry and crew to have an informal meet & greet/question & answer session right there at the track in their paddock or nearby? Could we include other Buell racing teams in that too maybe? Man that would be too cool! Just a wild idea. Dismiss or run with it as desired. : )

I'd expect that there might be some significant interest to break away from the track at some point and hop over to Revolution Performance for the special inside tour and engine dyno demonstration, that Dana so kindly orchestrated and Brian Nallin agreed to host. No motorhead will want to miss that. You wanna see header-pipes glow? Stand back and watch the mad Cajun put a performance V-Twin through its paces on the Revolution Performance engine dyno.

I'm sure Brian will have lots of really cool stuff to show us and talk about. Trying to get him to stop talking might be the problem. Everyone is invited, no charge, a good time guaranteed to be had by all.

Maybe prior to or following the Revolution Performance demo/tour we can meet for Lunch or dinner at the Wilderness Inn across the street from Revolution Performance; tour, back to the track for the races on Sunday, or Saturday, any preferences, early/late/whenever?

Looks like Sunday might be more open?

Who's in charge anyway? joker

>>>>Trust me, being Court is no picnic.

Hehehehe....there's some truth to that; pity my poor wife and kids!

Expect some grin producing announciationations next week; Hal's will be a major player and you'll see them all over the Homecoming festivities.

For those of you, I say again, who are tetering about Friday at the factory, don;t say I didn't beg to you be there to see stuff NO MOTORCYCLE RIDER has ever seen their company do. I think the Elves are taking this "Different in Every Sense" thing quite seriously.

>>>>Who's in charge anyway?
If someone were in charge, we'd be mistaken for MSTA or BMWOA folks.

: )

I love it!

whadaya think this is? the Hoot?

Actually it's looking really good guys. My son and I are getting very excited about homecoming.

This will be our first homecoming and it'll be nice to go watch the races, without having to work
in the pits to make sure the race happens for us. I'm sure the other guys on CCS teams can relate.
Working on a pit crew is kind of a busman's holiday....if I have my analogy right

Looking forward to putting faces with names. I probably asked this on the wrong thread, but has anyone figured out a possibility of getting real Buells for out of towners? I only squeezed the weekend and Friday out of my boss, (no not the wife, my boss, honest!) I do have a 2000 X1 Lightning, and this coming Friday should add an XB9R to the stable, and always do Daytona and can arrange Biketoberfest, if anyone is interested in a swap weekend and has an extra bike.
Either way, see you there!

Blake, really interested in seeing the Revolution Performance dyno demo. So when would that be? Saturday morning?

Also, nobody's mentioned Uke's (Kenosha). I know they aren't a sponsor, but they are bringing a Buell stunt team in. Bubba Blackwell is supposed to be there, it's Uke's annual party, and I wanted to see the Buell's in some crazy stunt action. Like Blake, just trying to get the possibilities on the board.

Can we somehow move this over an entire week, and not into ONE weekend. I can't see any way to do it "all", even if your interests are limited.

And is the Battletrax on? Can anyone tell the uninitiated what a Balletrax is? (I know, I know, search Badweb... will do.)

Lost in the south Florida sunset,

Clif

I perceive no clustering here -- as for the suggestions that folks contact BRAG before making any plans, well, that's a great suggestion -- so great, it was followed before it was made. given the answer (details will become available in the fullness of time), folks took the bit tween their teethes, and started planning --

this should come to no surprise to anyone that was involved, in any way, with the 20th Celebration -- nature abhors a vacuum -- so do, it would seem, Buellers ;-}

Battletrax -- think sportscar gymkana, with bikes -- a course is laid out (typically in a big parkinglot) with small cones (couple of inches high) -- course is twisty in the extreme, generally limiting the top speed to something in the 20-something mph range (some were higher on long courses) -- you compete against the clock -- usta was, fastest rider wins -- of late, the events morphed to BracketTrax, in that you chose an elapsed time, based on yer practice times, and tried to vget as close to that time as ya can --

big fun, lil damage even if you toss your sccot, greatly rewarding to those with smoothness at the top of their skill set

I'll learn you a lesson that, I promise, will cut three seconds off your time -- turn the petcock to ON

;-}

Thanks, Bomber. I found it on Badweb, and we used to call this obstacle course racing. Love to see one I could actually attend...

Maybe for Biketoberfest.

See you all at the Factory!

Bomber:

Truer spokes never worded have been.

I am pronouncing this a "cluster free event" and I'll bet ya a can of refried beans some of the stuff, still ups folks' sleeves, will have ya giggling and being thankful you turned toward the light!

This is going to be one great event. In the event anyone got the impression Hal's was out of the event, think again. The gang at Hal's have been big Buell folks since before Buell folks were big. . . I think Hal's and their race shop will be smack dab middleicious of it all.

I'm even packing an axe!

Let me get this right...a Pro-Nounce is a CERTAIN person, place or event?. . . right?

I can't seem to find the petcock on the CityX sitting outside right now.

So will we now see a 3 second slower time on the fuelie bikes doing Battletrax? : )

Steve -- bring the X down to the entropy lab -- I'll install one of the spare petcocks I got lying around -- we could also cobble up a pretend kickstater -- switching on yer fuel and jumping up and down while hitting the electric foot would make you the coolest doode on yer block!

;-}

Court -- near as I can tell, a Pro-nounce is one who gets paid for the Nouncing -- do I win?

Make sure ya offer those "mods" up to her during homecoming.

Well, I made reservations a couple of days ago to stay in Oshkosh for a few days before and during the Homecoming... So I guess I'll see yall there... Dave, I'll be there a few days in advance so you're going to make up a few maps and/or directions for some good rides ain't ya???

Oh, somebody was saying to watch 'Fargo' a few times so us out-of-towners could understand the locals. And I thought yall were kidding. When I was on the phone making my reservations I realized yall weren't ... ;)
Cool.............
