Well, Ralph, you answered your own question before I could direct you to my wonderful write-up in Tale Sections of this board. I can't seem to figure out how to do a hyperlink to it, so you'll have to find your way there by yourself. Anyway, it's near the bottom heading and its called SPLASH, of course. Paul, I can't believe you're gonna miss BorderRaid, bummer! Sorry to hear your dream job got flushed down the drain. (Gotta love the rum...) When you come up at the end of September, you could always ride the Duffy Lake loop, it can be done in a day. Of course it's much more fun to party the night away, then ride all hung over the next. Just can't beat that, huh? LOL | ||

Already got my holidays booked for July. SPLASH is the number one event on my calender. Unfortunately, I probably won't be able to afford insurance 'til about then, too, so that may be my shakedown run. On the bright side, I'll actually have lots of time to get all the maintenance done, instead of just throwing it all back together when the spring fever hits. And yeah, Paul, what Lorraine says. In fact,I've got a week of vacation in late September also. We can do a Border Raid Reprise. And you'll have all that hard-earned pay so you can buy the beer! | ||

Eric, holy cow dude-You sure do write well. It's like I was there ! But man, you guys push your luck sometimes ? what about the guys way out back on the slower bikes? Do you eventually wait up for them ? Sounds like a blast! though. Maybe I can make a SLASH, if you still have them in a year or two? Although if I make it back your way (w/bike) I'll be sure to give you guys a shout so maybe you can do a more local ride, like some that Lorraine described. Hey Lo, whats it like riding your Blast with these guys ? Are they any other slower bikes in your convoy ? You dudes seem serious about your Speed Tours.... if I'm that far from home, I'll be takin it easy. (Ahem- on a slightly modified Blast-what else could i do!?) Maybe by then, I'll have the Hi-po motor installed? Hmmmmm.... | ||

It's a Blast riding with these guys. No seriously. Everyone rides at their own skill level. The group eventually catches up. Someone always waits at the next turn so nobody gets left behind. This year it's my understanding that there will be 2 groups with leaders and those bringing up the rear to make sure we all get where we're going safely. Just stick with me... I'll show you the ropes. LOL, just kidding! If you come to Vancouver, there are some great roads to ride. It's timing it with good, dry weather that's the challenge! Ride on... LO | ||

Thanks, Ralph. That was the highlight of my writing career to date. The Muse was really moving me. Like Lorraine says, everyone sets their own pace. The fast ones just get their ride-end pint a few minutes sooner. Having a designated sweep for SPLASH would be a good idea. Someone with a cellphone! That wait at Lytton, when you and Deb's sister were missing, was VERY nerve-wracking. That was you, Lorraine, wasn't it? When they were trying to get Shooter's bike rideable. Bad thoughts happen when people go missing on a road like that! There'll be no more of that, though, right?!! Two groups is a good idea, too. It's gonna be a hell of a big crowd! Maybe we should make the Triumph's form their own "touring group." | ||

That really sucked didn't it? Everyone was worried, wondering what happened. No, it wasn't me. I was in the middle of the pack... trying to keep Scott from Deeley's at bay behind me LOL. Of course all the gravel spread across the road sure slowed me down. I missed seeing Galen down at the side of the cliff. Just as well, I probably would have freaked, seeing everyone peering over the edge with a downed bike practically teetering there. Yeah... seems like there will be quite a RATPACK turn out this year huh? Cool, it'll give me something other than the backend of a Buell to look at. Looking forward to hoisting a few with everyone that's for sure! Looks like we'll all be staying in the same motel, or most of us anyhow. Should be a great time! | ||
