Hmmmm.. Ok, I'll work a little something up in the head.. keep it 'adjustable' for possible wet roads and report back here when I have an idea of where would be best to depart from..

I was going to suggest staying away from shady roads just in case.

I probably won't be able to check this thread until Friday after tonight.

Hmmmm.. I've been thinking, as our 'first' ride together, I'll keep it kind of sedate and stay off the itty-bitty-twisty back roads.. for the most part..

So I'm thinking maybe a departure around 10/10:30am from Battley? Hows that sound?

10:30 at Battley it is..

I am supposed to run an errand for work out towards Baltimore, but I can do that on Sunday I guess.. hehehehehe..

Ok, I'm still keeping it simple and sane for the road choices.. just to keep us all safe and sound. Still might be a lil' chilly, so that's another good reason not to get lost in the hinterlands somewhere.. just in case..

10:30 @ Battley sounds good, it will be chilly but I was riding today and as long as the sun is out I think we'll be OK.

Who's all coming other than 1stBuell, Blublak and myself?

Twintour,

Not many twisties in FL unless you count the on/off ramps. I'm at the stripe, but still 1/8" or less to go to rub it out...

I've already gone down on a cool morning so I'm riding cautious. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

The chicken stripe better be gone by April.

Well, the closest we've gotten so far was this ride today..

OK, it was REALLY kind of COLD! But it was fun none the less. Not that long, heck, would be a fun little jaunt no matter what the weather, although a little warmer would have made it easier to have more fun on the roads.

We'll do this again, perhaps even have a few more bikes.. ya never know.

Ramon, sorry we didn't quite get it over far enough to take care of that little stripe for ya.. but we're getting there.

Ray, Mio.. Really great meeting you guys, until the next time we get some 'road time'.. take it easy.

Thanks for leading the way Blublak. It was certainly nice to meet a couple other Buellers, especially for a newbie like me. Look forward to more fun rides and hanging out.

Fun ride indeed, I'm looking forward to learning more roads and meeting more Buellers, despite the cold it was good times.

I've been trying to map the ride using Yahoo maps (from memory as best I could)- it allows you to create multiple points in a route.
Since I am not familiar with the roads this is a good way to document our rides for future use.

Checking the weather to see when we can get another group going. Looks like an April Fools Day ride may our next best day.

Rasmonis - To answer your post on C3 - Yes!! We are planning rides/Camp/BBQ for the CCS races in June and the AMA races in August at VIR. I hope we can get all the local BRAG clubs to pull together and have a big event and pull for the Buells.

Hey Carlos..
I should be at the AMA in August and the CCS in September. We'll have to try and hook up somewhere for a little while.

Don't know if anyone else from up here is heading down for those races as well, but Jose and a few others were there last year. Too bad it doesn't look like I'll have my good digs (like last year) for the AMA.. Damn! Oh well..

Stay tuned..

Anyone know anything about this "Motorcycle Excitement Track Day" on the 23rd at Summit Point? It is on the schedule at the Summit Point website but the link does not work. I was thinking of riding out there to check it out.

Hey Peter,

Definitely! I would like to get something together where we can get together with other Badwebbers at the race. As the time nears we will have to get plans together.

Hey Mio.. RoadRacing World has a small write up on the upcoming events; you can see it..
Here - RoadRacing World - Jan 10 2006

Something to consider is that Mar 23, and a several other dates they list are weekdays, some middle of the week too. Although he does have some weekend dates listed.

Since I'm doing TPM (Team Pro-Motion) and Reg Pridmores' CLASS (again) this year, I don't think I'll be going to any of these dates.

If you look at the Winchester Ducati/Triumph dealers web page, they list a $175.00 a day fee and contact information for Mr. Lyle. That's all I could find on it..

Hope that helps.

I was thinking of just riding up there to check it out. Never done a track day before and thought it might be fun to first see how things work out there.

TPM has a 'Try The Track' thing they do.

It's a free 'Introduction' to riding on the track and to the club in general. They take people out when the rest of the club is 'on break' so you can concentrate on your guide. After you've done that, you should have an idea of how much you want to try it again.

Here, Check out TPM Try The Track And see what you think. There are several BadWebbers that are riding with them this year. Some are racers, some are just enthusiasts (like myself).. Also, the price for the 'try out' is right.. hehehehhe...

Blublak, sorry about your friend, we'll catch up another time.

Ray, weather is shaping up nicely for next week/weekend for some extended rides. Ramon was talking about a Saturday April 1 ride. Maybe we'll see you then.

Cheers

Hey all,

Mio, sorry I missed riding today. I actually put in 6 miles going to my daughter's LAX game and back - yippie!!!

Saturday looks good so far, this ride is open to anyone interested. I'd like to get with any of the Ft. Washington folks if they are available to ride down their area. If not, we can cruise a circuit similar to our last ride. It should be warmer next week.

Tomorrow I'm stopping by the Frederick HD to talk to Mike about getting the Brag chapter re-started and scheduling our first meeting for this season. A letter will be going out to Buell owners they have on their mailing list. Any members from last year's group that can assist with this list please contact me.

If you did not purchase your Buell @ HD of Frederick and are interested let me know so I can include you in future mailings/notifications.

If you are reading this consider yourself invited to a Buell-B-Que at Lake Linganore in New Market MD tentatively scheduled for June 17th or 24th. Unfortunately there is a limit to the number of people that can attend - 50 max according to the by-laws in my neighborhood, 20 or more people require me to reserve the beach. If you can make it, let me know NLT April 30th.

Please note, this is not a Brag sponsored event.

Hey Ramon.. I could make the 17th (for Buel-B-Que) but will be in Lynchburg for the HOG rally on the 24th.

As for Saturday, I'll be heading up to the dealer (Fredneck) to get a service and change out the wheels/tires for April 8/9th at Pocono (TRAK DAZE!)

While I can't help you with 'the list', I can help out with other chapter stuff.. like I said, I'm not opposed to assuming 'flight leader' status.. hehehehe.

Depending on what time Saturday you're going to be at Frederick Buell, we can probably catch a few minutes to chat. Not sure when I'll be there, but I'm hoping to not run too late getting there.. next weekend, I've got to finish all my prep for the track and be ready to head out for Pocono on Friday. Phew.. this stuff sneaks up on ya sometimes, don't it!

Ras,

The Ft. Washington group will be at the dealership at 10 for our BRAG meeting, then not sure what Jose has planned for us. But with weather in the 70's, I'm sure we'll come up with something good.
