Man,
You ain't ever gonna buy no .17HMR. I can see it now. The next time we go riding you will be wearing a full leather race suit AND those size 33 boots. With my outfit and your soon to be get up we are getting closer and closer to cartoon characters.
Batman and Robin are on the case!! I got first dibs on Catwoman however you can have your choice of The Riddler or Mr. Freeze.

I hope to try the call out next Thursday on the local wildlife. Let me know if you want in on the action. I'm off. The Batsignal is telling me that there is crime going on in Gothem City

I'll second what Nuts said, we need to hook up in the middle one day when it gets warmer and have a meet and greet.

I'm in. Just need a little notice so I can make a 3-day weekend out of it. I can't ride the concrete park bench(low seat) but so far at one time.

I got first dibs on Catwoman...

O.K., now we have a problem!?

Tank,
Since you are new to the scene I will graciously let you have first dibs on Catwoman.
I hear what your saying about the concrete seat! I bought the deluxe factory seat and gave it a try but it was even worse. Makes you sit right on top of the airbox. I sold it and went back to the factory seat.
Lets' just make sure wherever we meet that there is a Hooters to eat at BWAHAHAHAHA.

With the news of Mountainrider going down and my attempts at emulating his video prowess on yesterdays ride....Leather will be the sacker of my wallet. I can get the savage for $200 all day with decent optics and still be under $400. Besides Jackie aka "icon bones" won't be able to blast anything until the beginning of May. I keep forgetting my mantra "skin grafts are bad, skin grafts are bad..." The really offsetting part is that I might have to splash out for a custom suit $ouch$. Due to my 6'3" frame with full Hoganesque 24" pythons brother. I'll be pulling 12 hours today so I can swing OT on fri or sat. NUTS

A lot of Kangaroos are going to have to die to construct your new outfit. 24 in pythons huh? Man, I have been strength training for the past few years and mine are only 15in. You are truly a gifted individual. I guess its all in the genetics.
Now that I am old I am thinking of selling the Icon and getting a custom made jacket. On the back I am going to get "Grandkids on Board" stitched on the top with "I brake for trains" on the bottom. Done in bright yellow with black accents would be pretty durn sweet wouldn't it?
Talking of people going down. My buddy in NY was on his way to work the other day and said a black Firebolt with amber wheels blew past him pulling a wheelie. The guy must have pushed it too far because Ken said he made it about 150 yards in front of him and then flipped it backwards.
A Savage now huh? I though you were going the Anschutz or CZ route. Focus Daniel san, focus. Hold off on buying the gun until you can get the one you truly want. Worse case is you get back into it when Squirrel season starts again.
We better tone this stuff down before Tank gets the idea that we are a couple of village idiots

That's two against one Nuts. Looks like you are going to have to eat at Hooters after all. Don't worry I won't tell on ya. Besides they won't be paying attention to you. It has been my understanding that they like old, bald guys trying to recapture their youth so the attention will all be coming my way.
Never fear though, being the good friend that I am I will toss you the ugliest one to keep you company.
Tank,
How close are you to Busch Gardens? Nuts LOVES roller coasters (or any ride with high vertical drops) so maybe we can head down and make a weekend of it.

Nuts doesn't like Hooters? The food is o.k., but the candy is sweet.

Busch Gardens? Bout 15min. Haven't been for a few years, since they had the Drachen Fire(the coaster that gave all sorts of people neck/back injuries.....it was awesome, but long gone)

NUTS prefers proper eating establishments. The one where the girls wear the hooteresque uniform but are about a decade or two too late. I really dig the cigarette hanging from their top lip as the ash falls into my second beer. Those joints are the best. Hooters is full of false advertisement, have you seen the majority of those things:yeah, I know their just paying their way through law school and all but I have standards. From what I've heard and seen with mine own eyes lately the place to be and be seen is my job! Loaded with finely shaped ladies with something those hooterettes will never have...earning potential. As you know my five year plan is to be retired.
I sure am enjoying these night shifts, now if I can just get my schedule to allow bike rides and deer season. NUTS

Ran across a good deal new so jumped on it.
.40 cal so plenty o' stopping power. I took the shot next to my hand so you could see I went with a realistic carry size.
Next CCP course is at the Salem Gun Show at the beginning of April. I'm going and sure hope you go with me so I don't have to drag the wife.

Oh gracious! Don't tell me that you have put the concealed carry on hold too because of riding season. Remember the plan? Packing heaters while cruising those dark backroads on warm Summer nights just in case we run across someone who wants a free bike when we stop to take a pee.
Man, that job and the subsequent paychecks are filling your head with dreams of race bikes complete with enclosed track trailers and full racing leathers. I better get you back to the club before you get too wrapped up in the racing circuit.

I'll admit my mind is spinning, and there's a little jealousy of that jewel posted above. Alas, we all can't have investments in our basements. Next influx of cash would benefit our riding should you choose to get some gear that is more function less fashion!!!

Nuts,
Are you saying I am a fashion queen? I'll have you know Mr. that the Icon is supposed to be one of the jackets that offers a good amount protection for normal road use. I can't help it that it just happens to be pretty cool too
Now I will tell you up front that I won't be able to follow you into the dirtbike craze. My health won't allow it and besides I tend to lose all common sense when I get on one. I never was much on speed but I liked the big air. With my back the way it is I'd probably be paralyzed after one or two jumps. I guess I could putt along behind you on the ATV.
I figured your mind was spinning which is fine. No need for jealousy. Soon enough you will be singing the theme song to the Jeffersons' whilst I am trying to keep up with the Joneses'.
Pursue whatever path makes you happy right now and I'll back you up 100%. If you hit the circuit I'll work the pits with your better half. If you get a dirtbike I'll do my best to keep up on the quad. If you get a pistol we'll go shoot some silhouttes. Well you get the idea.
Carry on my brother, carry on.

Nope,
Wind chill at or below freezing equals no practice for the little ladies.
I was reading the information about the track day and I'm not quite sure I am going to be able to do it. First the time of day pretty much falls into the hours that I have to be out of the sunlight. Since it is a racetrack I think shade is going to be pretty scarce. Not to mention the heat while wearing leather during that time of day. Secondly, my jacket does not have the required armor. Finally, it seems to be geared towards speed and racing type techniques which as you know aren't really my thing.
Thats cool though. After the course just remember to pull over every now and then when we're riding to let me catch up.
Remember, as the weather gets warmer the later in the day I will have to wait until I ride. Usually in the Summer I wait until 6:00p.m. or so before I go out.
Keith,
Thanks for the invite but racing just never has been my thing. I wish you the best though and hope you have a safe and successful race!

I snagged it at Roanoke Firearms. The .40 is supposedly quite desireable since they don't make it in that caliber anymore.
Its' twin brother is still there for $100.00 off sticker and $350.00 under retail.
The Cooper is still weeks away but can't really complain since they are basically sending me back a better than new gun for free even though the damage wasn't their fault.
Thought is being given to selling the Bolt and Icon gear to finance either a mutant build or dual sport.
Tell your brother a small investment will get him a nice pampered ride with some cool gear and a bit of warranty left.

What's this "track day" type event you don't want to attend. You talkin'bout the Pro Motion free ride.

I have given some thought and plan to show just to meet ya'll.(last weekend in May, right?)

My bike travels in a small(5x9) enclosed trailer, and I can bring a big azz fan to cool things off, if there's some 110V near by.(or a small generator)

Tank,
That is the event.
I have certain health issues that make being in direct sunlight and getting too hot (among a list of many things) a potentially life threatening problem. I had thought about rigging up a tarp with PVC pipes to make a kind of portable shade but I don't know how receptive the track staff will be to the idea. I then have to overcome the riding. In the midday sun I wouldn't make it more than 20 minutes before big problems started happening.
Not to worry though we WILL figure out a way to hook up for a meet and greet.
On a side note I also like to photograph Reptiles and Amphibians. Since we don't have the Cottonmouth this far west perhaps we can arrange to come out your way to do some riding and check out some likely snake haunts. From what my friends tell me they can be found in most ponds and slow moving bodies of water out your way.
Let me know

What's this dual sport talk? I know you need to "meddle" with things so I'll support any direction you'd like to go. I think trading for a sweet S1 would be a pretty cool way to go. Maybe a sidecar rig? So you could take the girls for a ride. So many ideas so little time. How about a cyclone with 88" kit? You could sell the bolt outright and finance six months worth of exclusive hunts with mounts. Hey I know. You could get 3 more Coopers, which ones are you missing?LOL

Dual sport would take me onto the gravel roads where I currently cruise for snakes in the Summer with the Escape . No way the Bolt could go there. Still couldn't do serious trail riding because of the back but being able to get off the main roads is definately tempting.
I had also thought about just buying a bunch of Coopers or a Cesar Guerini but I need a bike to get in my relaxation.

Sorry to hear that, Jackie. Sounds like you make the best of things, though.

Cottonmouths...

Yep, we got em'. Terribly dangerous, they are.
Very unpredictable creatures.

There are stories of water skiers falling into nests and dying very quickly.(dunno how true)

Years ago, my buddy and I were fishing from a nearby spillway. He decides to walk down to the other side to try his "luck". I happen to turn and look, I yell "STOP". He stops about 2ft from the biggest cottonmouth I have ever seen. Not really coiled up, just sunnin'. I guess, because of it's size, it didn't see him as a threat, as it slowly slithered away. It had to be 6-7 feet and bigger around than my arm. It's head was as big as my fist. Scared the hell outa' both of us.

Tank,
Sounds like a winner!
I have been keeping, breeding and studying reptiles for over two decades so I know my way around them so to speak. Let me know if you can give us a guided tour and maybe we can make a weekend out of riding and herping.
As far as my illness goes I try not to complain. There is always someone worse off than myself. It is nice having a friend like Nuts to assist in the things I can't do (Like walking down a steep cliff to retrieve a Raccoon or Squirrel LOL). Maybe next hunting season I'll try to shoot them even further so he can get in more exercise whilst retrieving game.

There are several places with easy access along my "regular loop" to stop and soak up the scenery/wildlife. The trick would be to catch some unknowing critters out and about. Who knows, we might even find something that shouldn't exist(strange things grow in the swamp).

You mention "the swamp". Are you by chance talking about the Dismal Swamp? If so there is a whole hodge podge of species I have yet to photograph that call that place home. If we do it can we plan on one day riding and then spending a few hours dedicated to searching the creepy crawlies out?

Jackie, i think you need to get the the XR before your meeting with tank. You're going to need to load up the camera, tripod, magnesium flash, metallic umbrellas, wind machine, light filters,etc...

This just in gun auction on rt.311 Saturday. 17 miles north of Hanging Rock trail access. I'm pretty sure this conflicts with Ariels practice but????? Are you riding this weekend? Nuts has put in 50 hours this week and will be unjoying the bounty of Virginia's byways.

Nuts,
I can't get it until your brother buys my Bolt. I know he is loaded so no excuses.
I don't know about tomorrow. The whole family is sick. I still have to make ball practice but haven't pushed the kids to go. I may just lounge around all weekend to try and recoup.
From the weather report you may be riding in the rain/snow tomorrow.
As far as visiting Tank I am hoping to trailer the bikes down, ride for one day and then herp for several hours the next day before returning home. Can I count on you to be there? You know my crazy mom won't let me go without my personal EMT there.
