Duanne, The short list includes a new 02 TLS the local Suzi dealer has for $8300. I've always liked the R1100S, a guy at work just took delivery on a Boxer Cup, very sweet bike, I think the Boxer Prep would be more to my liking and save me a few marks. And then there's the damn Daytonas, I really like the Acidic Yellow 03, with the single side swing arm and the 6" rear wheel. The Aprilla Falco has been on the list sense it was first introduced.

Will I buy a new bike in the near future? Probably not, but I could change my mind tomorrow.

Bob, speaking of tomorrow, I'll be in the Tacoma area Saturday afternoon delivering Loni's Sportster to a lucky new owner. I'll give you a ring after business is taken care of, probably mid afternoon.

Everyone enjoy the sunshine,

Chris

Well today we said good-bye to Missy (Sportster). sob, sob, sniff, sniff. I know I should'nt get attached but what can I say, her and I have had alot of good memories. Remember Ferris when you just had to help me ride her home from Border Raid? And Deb remember "LEAN", "LEAN", "LEAN" on SPLASH? Yep, I sure will miss her. I think every part I ever bought for her was purchased in a different city or state, or country. So now I will start thinking of the future and see about filling the void. I know where there is a new silver 02 SVS, maybe I should look into that?

On to future memories.... We got notice today of the date for Oregon 250. Sunday April 6, 2003. Who's in for the riding season kick off????????? This is a benefit for Vernonia Food Bank so bring a can of food and get 2 free chances at a new helmet. For more info check out thier web page www.rose-city-mc.org. Also for those interested the Ore 500 is Saturday May 10th and the Sweetheart Ride is Saturday Feb 8th.

And don't forget the Sunset Thunder Club meeting this Tuesday January 21st at Silver Dollar Pizza Company in Beaverton.

LONI,
I'm up for the Oregon 250! Can you email me around that time and remind me? I have to get all my riding in before May this season. Thanks for the info and I can't wait to see you on your new bike. Does he/she have a name?

Paul

Paul, I will try and remember to remind you closer to the date. I still have not thought up a name yet for the Suzuki, and who knows what the new bike will be. I'm thinking that Chris will be getting a new toy befor me. But that is OK. He needs a toy to play with.

Chris- is that "Dead Sexy" tearing up the hood? I hate it when he does that on our street but he sure looks cool doing it!

Lonnie- Congrats on the quick sale that didn't take long.

Paul- Whattayamean? All your riding done by May? Does that mean you won't be at SPLASH or Border Raid?

Northern Rain Forrest- Glad to here your ride went well with no incidents. You guys SUCK!

Nice ride, Capt., whats your route? We're getting in our last licks on the dungeness season here in southern OR.

For you SPLASHERS, be aware that the event will start at Lag/Sec and work its way north. You're all invited to stay at my place on the way up.

Tune to SACBORG, now or later, for details.

Snail,
We will be running between Juneau, Ketchican, and Sitka.

Kim,
I leave on the above posted boat around the first of May and will not return until mid-September.
Great job but the schedule sucks uh?
Y'all will have to celebrate my annual birthday drunk at Whistler for me!

Congrats on the new ride, Loni. Guess I'll be the sole rep for the mother co.
Chris. Tell me about an 02 TLS. That's a misprint, right? (I'm lusting for an SV1K .)
Triumph APB: I read in Cycle World that single sided-swingarmed Trumpets have a recall for catastrophic rear bearing failure. I hope this is old news and already dealt with by my Triple-riding friends here.

Is SPLASH starting at Laguna this year or is SACBORG changing the ride?

yo Gootch, it's kinda like this :) :

the WSB races at Laguna Seca are July 11-13.

i'm organizing a sport-tour, called "Four Play", that'll leave Monterey, CA on Monday, July 14 at 0800.

this rolling roost-'n-romp will take four days ripping it's way up the coast, on every twisty, bad-assed road we can find, to arrive in Portland, OR Thursday night July 17.

the SPLASH festivities will begin the following morning (Friday) at Horseshoe Lake Park in Woodland, with an all-day party/BBQ/water-skiing/wet-thong contest (just kidding about the last item...maybe.....), and the SPLASH ride will launch for Mount St. Helens early Saturday morning, just as it has every other year.

Vik and the troops on SacBORG asked awhile back if they could make Four Play their "official" SacBORG ride this year, which i thought was a bitchin' idea.

there'll be a bunch of Hooligans partying at Laguna all weekend, as you might imagine, and it's already looking like we'll have a pretty comprehensive collection of moto-misfits doing the Four Play thing up the west coast, culminating with the SPLASH extravaganza.

the Four Play itinerary (subject to ongoing revision), pencils out like this:

--Monday 7/14 we're overnighting on the coast in Caspar, CA (near Fort Bragg) and doing an informal bike-show/noise contest for a downed brother by the name of Dana; free camping on-site, donations for Dana's medical expenses appreciated but not required. California's legendary Highway 1 will be featured this day.

--Tuesday 7/15 we'll overnight at Paul's place (aka Snail) on the coast in Ophir, OR; free lodging has been offered on-site (forested mountain-top oasis with stunning ocean view) by Paul and his lovely wife Jean. Highways 1, 101, 36, 3, 299, and 101 will be Tuesday's offerings.

--Wednesday 7/16 we'll be staying overnight somewhere near McKenzie Bridge, OR; location to be determined. Paul is already hard at work mapping out a selection of his favorite local twisties, aiming us in the general direction of Crater Lake, OR and the Aufderheide (GREAT road) north of Oakridge.

--Thursday 7/17 we'll be staying the night at Jim and Shel Corso's place in Portland; free lodging, plenty of room, lots o' micro-brew, and a hot-tub big enough to get in trouble in. not sure yet of Thursday's exact route, but it'll be a worthy dose of everything the Oregon Cascades have to offer to the adventurous motorcyclist.

Paul is bringing a handful of his homies from the 'hood along, and after SPLASH they'll be continuing on northward into BC; perhaps you guys could tag-team into Canada.

to summarize, what we've got here are really three events -- WSB, Four Play, and SPLASH -- kinda morphing into a righteous excuse to ask the boss for a full two weeks off in July!

these are our brains.

these are our brains on bikes.

any questions???

ride to scheme,
FB :)

Ferris, thanx for the explanation. I'll be in Florida at the end of the week and part of next. I've tried to fill Eric Buell in on the event but I think he's changed his e mail, or he gave me a decoy. Maybee Court has brought Buell up to speed on this, I just hope they don't miss the opportunity. Is the thong wet from swimming?
