U4euh,

In a word, DAMN! That is gonna be HOT! If you hadn't shown us that Pegasus now...it would cause us to drool on your bike the next time we see it in person.

Just wonderin'. You aren't using any tools in doing any of that are you? I seem to remember a previous post and your usage of tools... Your bike is beginning to look darn slick for someone who is not adept with tools.

Well, I got 64 pictures that I deem worth sharing with whoever can stand all the Yellow Blue and Black of the Buell racing colors. Not all of them are XBRR related, and belive it or don't, some of them aren't even Buell related. I don't know if I will post some tonight and finish them off tomorrow night or just wait until tomorrow night to do them all. Time will tell, and we will see how many of the 64 get cut on the editing room floor.

I don't know where he got that shirt. We all got a kick out of it and the Wide Open shirt, which I don't feel right posting. : ) Those who saw it would know why. : )
I'll share another though.

I'd like to take this baby for a spin. : )

How about this as the new Blast?

Why's everyone so quiet?

I seem to remember mention being made of a meeting the week after the Daytona Adventure. Plus a little birdy reminded me last night when she dropped off my tent and sleeping bag. My only questions are:

Where?
And
When?

I think this looks much better...

Now that's more like it...

Go back to sleep Mike, ya got another week, unless of course you wanna come over and help put the ole girl back together!
Brankin- no tools, other than those required to disassemble!
I'll be working on the bike or starting a deck building project, so I won't be able to make this one either, damn. I am starting to have withdrawal symptoms. Think I'll put my touring gear on and sit on the hood of the van and have Tonya drive me around, really fast.

It's cool, I am not sure who all will be able to make it. It is a busy month. I love it.

By the way, do you know we have a famous person among us. Oh yeah. Mr. Robert David Lassiter is on the Buell Web site. You are the man David!

I think you have me mistaken for Robert Lossiter. : ) Someone mentioned that to me and I saw it for the first time today. Kinda cool. The HD photographer stopped me and asked me if he could take my photo and had me sign a waiver. Of course I said sure. : )

Allrighty,

I got some XBRR swag shipped next day to me from Court. I just got them today. Two items (each the same) that will be 'raffled' off at the meeting only for those who did not make it to Daytona (to make it fair because the item was available while we were in Daytona). The only way to win one of these is to be at tomorrow's meeting for the drawing. If nobody shows who didn't make Daytona, one will go to John Martindale and the other ???

So, who's gonna be there?

Will this swag fit into a tankbag?

What is this? Twenty questions? If so, ya got 19 more left...but as you will see below my time before the meeting is limited.

To answer the question, I would say, that yes it could possibly fit into a tank bag, but I don't think that anyone would really want to do that with it.

I will be leaving home soon as I got to go to the bar with 2 wild women! So if I got a grin on my face tomorrow it will not be because of me riding my Buell to the meeting as I will be on the V-Rod.

Well, the real question is: can I carry it home on my XB, or should I bring my car?

If it was a t-shirt I'd toss it in the tank bag and be done with it, if it's an autographed piece of XBRR bodywork it's worth me driving to Goldsboro in the cage.

Well, I guess it's not that big of a deal, because I am suspecting that they will also be available at select venues the XBRR will be raced. So I'm thinking that this won't be the only place to lay your hands on one of these. Personally, I'm hoping to be able to pick up some more when I am home for Homecoming as long as I go prepared (small hint).

As a side note, I have an interesting story from lunch today. I hoped that I would never become one of those people like you see post on badweb 'Yellow XB9S Neuse Blvd./Bosch Blvd. New Bern', but since this area is so sparsely populated with Buell's I guess it had to happen. But then again, I guess it is also a good thing, because I had the opposite experience in Daytona, where I saw a Buell and just looking at the Buell I could tell whose bike it was (I guess it's not fair when we're talking about a red RS 1200 but you get the drift). Anyways after I went home to make sure the swag had arrived I'm heading back to work and as I'm waiting to turn down Bosch Blvd. (a.k.a. my own personal dragstrip) another bike is coming from the other direction on Neuse Blvd. I can tell immediately it is a yellow XB9S (with a killer rip-snortin' muffler). My first thought was 'What is Dave doing here in New Bern, on his bike, around lunchtime?'. Then it was 'When I gave him a thumbs up, he didn't flip me off. So it can't be Dave...'. Whoever it was had a black and yellow checkerboard helmet on and didn't really seem to give a PI55 about me being on a V-Rod - he didn't even wave. Oh well, he will learn of his major faux pas if we ever meet up again.

Okay, since I don't have too much time and I don't want to get everyone worked up over something that they may not find all that interesting. I will say the following:

1. It is not a shirt. If I would've been smart I would've asked Court to send some of those at the same time. I'm trying for the next meeting, but I got a feeling that the supplies are severely limited now.
2. It is not an autographed piece of bodywork. Man, if it was I don't know how I would be able to give it up.
3. The typical shipping method for the item can be specified by giving 2 dimensions.

I took the Uly to the dealership this morning to have Sync mounted on the back. I just picked it up. It feels like a new bike, but I think thats more an effect of the TPS reset and clutch adjustment than it is the new tire. But whatever it is, it feels great.

Whenever I take it in there, they always clean it for me before they give it back. I left the rustproofing from Daytona on when I took it in. They were up to the task! The bike is spottless.

I had a Uly moment yesterday. I was riding the "straight way" home through some back roads I like to haunt. I get on my personal drag strip and decide to speed test the bags some more. Still have all three bags on the bike. After a short three digit run, I turn right instead of my usual left off my personal drag strip and held down hill through an ess-curve at about eighty and then I realize I am now in a populated area so I cruise at about 75mph through some sweepers to the end of the road. At the end of the road I start to turn left onto the next road when I here the distinctive whine of burning rice. I look back to see a full on repli-racer with a rider wearing his color matching leathers and by the sound of the bike, he is coming in hot and obviously trying to run me down. As I pull away from the intersection, I here him slow behind me then get back on it as he turns in behind me. I go to the next road turn left again and speed off at a mere 50mph. The sport bikes slows to turn in behind me when I here the motor shut down and I see him abort the left turn and goes straight slowly looking hard left at me and the rooster tail comes off my back tire. Oh did I forget to mention the last road was dirt. As he looked over at the Uly speeding away on dirt I could almost hear him say "SHEEEEET!"

This particular dirt road is a short cut back to hwy 11. The next time he sees me I'm about a mile and half ahead of him on the 4 lanes. For some reason he gave up trying to catch up with me. I guess looking at it from his point of view, he saw this big bagger that was going through sweepers at triple digits, then ran through some 35-40mph tight esses at 80mph, then when the road straightens out and he thinks for sure now he can make ground on me, I hit the dirt and speed off at 50mph. It was a classic Ulysses moment.

Hey Jim Nance... I remember when I bought my slightly used xb from RPHD. Yeah man, we will spit shine this thing to the tee. No such luck..,ha ha. However, they did mount a new pair of Dunlops which bought me 2500 miles. Just got my road attacks on two weeks ago. WOW...my bike finally handles like it always should have, or the way I expected it to . Food for thought. See ya in a couple of weeks! Take care

David as you see above, we took a photo op after we had the meeting and took a spirited ride down Devil's Racetrack Rd. It was allot of fun talking with the guys and then riding between Goldsboro and Smithfield. As you can see Dave, Mike, Larry, Brankin and I were at the meeting. Major points of the meeting...

Dave will add a few new things to the C3 calendar and then we are going to post it here on Badweb.

We as a C3 group will again have to pick two new officers. With Dave and Pauletta moving to Indiana, we have already lost our secretary and we will lose our director at the end of April. We need to discuss this amongst us over the next month and then by the next meeting on April the 8th at 11am.

A few more shots of the group. This shot was taken at the dealership in Goldsboro before the ride.

Here we are south of Smithfield by I-95 after the ride and where east and west split off.

Hey everybody, I have posted a schedule of events for the year and the minutes from the March meeting in the C-3 Club and Meeting Information folder at the top of the page.

Also, Kristi is needing input concerning food/refreshments for March Badness in the C-3 Adventures folder. Anyone going needs to let her know what you want.

Speaking of March Badness-has everyone who's said they're going to be staying at the cabin gotten their money to Kristi yet? Badness is only 2 weeks away!

Dave
