Blublak,

You hit the nail on the head, but some commission on a sale is better than none you'd figure. Steve said they sent the sales team last week to a Buell conference to get them educated on the Buell brand and products.

Personally, I would love to run a shop that only deals with Buell sales, service and customization. I've read it over and over on various posts here and on other sites how brand loyal Buell owners are. A good product sells itself.

The pics are from the Appalachian ride right? I was checking out the recap on the Buell site. I was hoping to attend, but I did not have a running bike then.

It would be cool to get the various chapters together for events. Being a new Buell owner, I have that new enthusiasm that usually comes with new things. I hope it does not fade away...

Hey, happy to share the road with any Bueller, regardless of where purchased. Glad you got the deal you wanted. It's funny how things work, I tried like hell to get my bike at Battlefield and got no where. Could'nt get a salesperson to say boo. The third attempt was enough, and the fact that Frederick sold ( the idea ) the Buell to me to begin with, I decided to go back there and make the purchase. I Bought From Sandy, who still works there and is at the Buell sales deal in Vegas, along with Joe and others. Joe is a very good, knowledgeable rider. He bounces between service and sales. He helped me with the technical side of the Buell on my initial purchase. Also, just to let you know, they do not get commisions on sales at Frederick HD/ Buell. (??) Sandy did tell me that she makes her money on the accessories. Don't know, don't care. All I know is that they have treated me like a million dollar customer every time I've been in with a problem. They gave me a hell of a deal on my second purchase, one that Battlefield said was a joke, and that I was lying when I told them the out the door price. $4,620.00, tax tag and title, out the door, 2005 Blast. Battlefield wanted $5150.00, then I had to pay MD tax myself, and there bike was a demo! At least they talked to me that time. I also have horror stories in the service dept, for Both dealers, but given the customer service of Frederick, I go there. Any how, hope we can get this Bragg group back together, like to meet soemwhere close, and ride with a group of like minded Buelers

Hello -

never realized this part of the forum existed until just now.

I'll be headed to Daytona Friday morn the 10th and staying through the 12th. Plan is to go with two other guys, an RC51 and and SV 1000. We think we're going to rent a u-haul open trailer and sleep in the truck. Real shoestring operation. Anyone else from here going?

Funny I had the exact opposite experience, I almost walked out of Battlefield with my bike and an 06 Blast for $14500 MD taxes and accessories included (full bag kit and upgraded seat on the XB). I was trying to avoid naming folks but it was Sandy who I was speaking about. Enough about this. Maybe Sandy thought you were cute? Who cares really.

I rode in today, some jerk off in a SUV almost clipped me on rt32 near NSA. DC Traffic sucks. By the time I got in my kneecaps felt like ice cubes. I'm glad spring is almost here.

So the Frederick BRAG chapter will happen, I'm picking up "The Book" this weekend to go over all the material and begin searching for members I guess.
With that said, anyone interested in participating in this chapter please send me a pm with your contact information so I can get an idea of how many people are interested.

Stay tuned for more information...

Well, on the watching the 200 thing.. There is a place in Leesburg that is a poolhall/sports bar.

They have multiple HUGE projection screens. I was thinking that if we could give them a heads up and ask them to put the race on those, a bunch of crazed fans will show up and eat, drink and be merry?

What say? Now we've got two ideas for places to go.. Baltimore or Leesburg? What do folks think?

Hmmmm.. Rasmonis, I think that might be too late for the 200..

But for the rest of us, I'll call this place next week and see if they'll 'host' us for the race.

I'll report back later..

In the taste of McWilliams riding the XBRR I took my XB out for a "spin" today. Turned a corner with cold tires and plenty of road funk/gravel bits and kicked the bike sideways-no smoking the tires-but enough to make me grin and realize that "my" riding season is just about here.

Oh-I bought my XB in Quantico for more than all you sh!ts in 2002 (haven't been back there since). It does pay to be the first.

Daytona - Local Viewing!

Ok, here's what I have so far. I talked to the place in Leesburg and while they said they could give us a 'little' area in one corner and a single screen.. They were going to run Basketball on all the other screens in the joint.

Sooo.. I went a little east of L-Burg (closer to Rt. 28)and found this place.. www.beefobradys.com .. The manager there was cool about the whole thing. It's a lot smaller then the first place, but he said we could have an entire section (there are only three in the joint) and not only the TV's showing the race, but the sound as well !

Depending on how many people, we could also get discounts for libations and food stuffs.. So I guess that means I'll need an idea of how many folks are comin' out.

If you want to check their location, follow this link http://www.beefobradys.com/cgi-bin/store_search_users.pl?State=VA&order_by=Locat ion&order=abc&Status=o
you can also see their menu online as well.

So... Who's gonna be there to watch the Multi-National

Buell Riding 'Professional' Hooligans chase after that elusive .. At Daytona..
Hey, I can't be there live.. But I'll be there watching and pullin' for 'em.. Will You?

If all goes well I may actually make it out to Daytona. I'm planning on taking the auto-train instead of flying and renting a car (the cost is the same for a week's time). Can't rent a Buell out there either.

I may have trouble getting the cg on because of its low clearance 3.55". I need at least 5". Should be easy to solve.

I just decided to save my money from buying a new xb and spend it in a more giving way to Buell/HD by constantly buying parts that either leak or vibrate off as I ride down the road. Besides if I eventually replace everything 1 part at a time, will I at some point have a new bike again????

Hi gang!

Just wanted to introduce myself since I am a new Buell owner living in the metro area. I live in Gaithersburg/Darnestown and just bought a 2005 XB12R a couple of weeks ago and would like to get to know some of the other "Buellers" in the area. Primarily ride on the weekends due to kids/business. Weather should be getting nicer soon and look forward to more miles and smiles. So far, really enjoying the ride.

Hey again Mio and everyone else in the DC Metro area,

I posted this http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show.cgi?tpc=4062&post=607176#POST 607176
under the Quick Board. Anyone in the area doing your own work on your bike? Anyone wanna teach what they've learned? Specifically on the older carbureted engines.

I'm riding an '02 M2. I've neglected it over the winter so I'm rather afraid of what I have in store if I was to take it in to any of the HD dealers around. I'm not afraid to work on the bike, I'd just rather have another set of eyes to tell me what I'm missing.

I'd be up for a tech day. I have no mechanical skills and very little knowledge about how my bikes actually works, so my input would be limited to what we should eat or drink

However, I'd love to learn more about my Buell. A couple of days ago I installed a new seat (gotta start small) then new Heli bars, and finally my new Drummer exhaust. Simple stuff for most, but a big accomplishment for me.

If you guys want to brave the wind/cold then ride down to HD/Buell of Ft Washington Today for the DCBRAG meeting, 10 am with a ride to follow.

I try to do all the work on my own bike, Mio so send me an email if you have any questions.

We did a "wrench" day last year, we can definetly do them again.

1st, It's next weekend.. for the Daytona 200 (AMA FX).. It'll be the first race for the new Buell XBRR and we're looking forward to a really good race! Live coverage will start at 1:30pm with the race set to start at 2pm. Hope you can make it.. This will be an event for Buell the likes of which there hasn't been in years..

Dang, Jose.. here I am reading about it NOW! Ok, I won't be making it down to Ft. Wash. I've got a couple of things to take care of (yep, it's a honey do kind of day).
Will you and Linda be making it up to Ashburn next Saturday?
