I got to the range today and got the .22 sighted in enough. The barrel was getting dirty and I could hear/feel the bullets pulling. I put about 120 rounds through. I'll go and run a stainless steel brush through with a little ajax on it. That should scrub that gunk right out.
Just kidding, I will be throwing a few patches through though. Tomorrow 3:00. If something changes let me know.

Jason,
If you haven't already cleaned it hold off! 22s' are bad about losing their POI after cleaning and take several shots to settle back to the original sight in position.
I'll run the Patchworm and Boresnake through it AFTER we get done tomorrow.
By the way, I have a crisp one dollar bill that says R.D. will cancel on us AFTER we get up there tomorrow because of the wind. I think we both have learned that the animals will move in the wind but you just can't hear them. In my opinion no excuse to cancel the trip.
Either way I get my new Cooper and you get to keep me company and browse the handgun section.
I think I am going to go crazy and order a double Royale with cheese, super size fry and a nice chocolate shake. Or we could always hit Jackrabbit Slims and get an Amos and Andy or Martin and Lewis 5 dollar shake. I hear they are pretty freakin' good. Maybe not worth 5 bucks but pretty freakin good.
If you can't tell I watched Pulp Fiction twice the other day. I am now ready to get medieval on some varmints!

Jackie, it's favor time! The lady who interviewed me today asked for a local reference. You happen to be the only one here I know and trusts me around guns. Her name is Becca Bishop and she might be giving your cell a ring. Make sure and tell her to hire me so I can be just like you and have the best of the best. Coopers for everyone!! NUTS

Not a problem.
I will tell her that you are kind, intelligent, punctual and efficient.
Oh wait a minute that is a description of myself! I think I'll just tell her that you are a Peck.

Seriously though I hope it works out for you since it seems that it would still allow for a fair amount of outdoors time.

I'm going crazy here! What does tommorrow evening look like for you? I want to get up above them on the top of the ridge and sit there for a few hours.
Then hit the 100 meter range and sit for a few as well.
Looking at getting up there around 4:30 and doing a small bit of "scouting" on the lower logging road.
Let me know if your wife will let you come out and play.

Jason,
Yeah we were schooled weren't we? Can't believe we thought our sorry techniques would work.

I had another episode this morning and am going to have to cancel. Heart rate 187BPM and blood pressure 60/32. What a strange feeling. Once the adrenaline wears off and the antihistamines kick in I will probably sleep for 14-15 hours straight.
I really have to get my diet back to free range and organic since the frequency I am having them is starting to increase again.
Oh well, perhaps I'll sleep through my birthday and not have to deal with the middle age jokes.
Have a good weekend and hopefully lets plan for the beginning of the week. I was planning on giving Haven a try for something different so just give it some thought.

hey Jackie, I found the next addition to the arsenal. Found a nice CZ model 452 in .22 mag. I haven't found a .17 hmr but I'll keep looking. They are asking $340 NIB. Here's the kicker. It has a Mannlicher stock. Buddy I could get that with the Nikon Pro Staff and be around the magical $500 mark. I am super excited, now let's get those farmers lined up. While you were sleeping I was watching VH1 classic; Metal mania. All the hairbands you could stand. Got to see WASP, Megadeth, RATT, Cinderella, Quiet Riot. No striper though, they must have really stunk! I say next Halloween you get the biggest wig you can find and some spandex. Get well buddy so we can get out and get some predators. NUTS

The only thing that worries me about a Mannlicher is unless it is synthetic or laminate any moisture, humidity or sudden change in temps can affect accuracy. This is because the barrel rides in the channel for its full length. When the stock expands/contracts it can cause some crazy things to happen.
Other than that they are sweet.
I'd still consider the Anschutz and a Prostaff. Talk them down to an even $500.00 and add the price of the scope and you end up with a top production rifle for only slightly more than the CZ. If you want I will call Todd and tell him I only have $500.00 and see if he will take it. Since it will be cash instead of trade he may be swayed to accept the offer.

I always liked Blackie Lawless and Chris Holmes from WASP. They were WAY over the top and just looked plain out mean. I also really liked Cinderella. Eric Brittingham (long blonde haired bassist) had the coolest hair of any hair metal artist. Ratt were a bunch of pansies although Warren D' Martini could play a wicked lead guitar!
They didn't have Stryper on there because they were so good that they completely transcended the boundaries of hair metal and must be placed in the realm of Elvis, The Beatles and Queen.
With such memorable songs as Calling On You, Honestly and To Hell With The Devil they have cemented themselves a place in rock and roll history my friend!

I called the shop yesterday to ask RD about ordering a mannlicher and they said he would be off until 8 March. RD said they would go down to $500 for the Anschutz; are you proposing asking them to add in the $160 Pro Staff for free? I know cash talks but...you think Todd would stretch that much? Hey, today's the day you start answering to "Old Man". You're going to need to stock up on Ben-gay for those marathon softball practices. You might want to think about trading the Firebolt in for a nice Buick! At any rate I hope you have a nice day with your family and I'll see you in the next few. NUTS

I didn't realize you had already talked them down to $500.00. I don't think your going to do any better than that.
So basically it is the CZ and scope for right at $500.00 or the Anschutz and scope for approximately $650.00? For the extra money you are getting one of the nicest guns made. I would hold off until next payday and hope fate is with you and the Anschutz is still there. If not you can always order the CZ.

Like a fine wine I just get better with age. Although I am thinking about trading the Bolt in for one of those Rascal scooters. With the left over cash I could score one of those folding walkers and a nice donut cushion for my hemmrhoids.
Talk to you soon.

Now you can start talking about "the good ole days", when men wore tights and hairspray was king. Post when you think you want to go do some scouting. I am thinking about re-setting my scope and sighting in next time we hit the club. I won't do it until I speak to you as we have had time constraints lately. I would rather spend the time scouting and carry the shotgun. Got my little ride in today and about lost a few fingers to frostbite; but it sure was good to get up on the Parkway and get leaned over. I took the back road from the Explore Park down to the Food Lion off 116. The sign said no thru traffic but I figured they meant someone else. I'll talk to you soon. Jason

Hey man you better watch it! I still have some tights in the back of my closet waiting for them to come back in style. As far as the hair, now that I am middle aged and bald I don't have much use for hairspray.
I would like to go tomorrow if the wind isn't wailing. Got any plans for say around 3:30?

I can't believe you went riding today. Your oil was probably as thick as mud. No matter, just keep going until you melt down the jugs and then order a big bore kit.
The sign has always been there but nobody pays it any mind. I personally don't go through there because it is gravelly and I don't like getting my bike dusty. Since yours is always dirty anyway I'm sure you probably can't see the additional dirt (Oh snap, I just busted on you and your bike on a public forum).

I got the new call and the decoy. Can't wait to try it out!!

3:30? I'm in. unless of course the nice lady from Human Resources has other plans for me! 3:30, at your house, should I bring the rimfire or the guage?
When I called Dominion on Saturday I told the lady I bought a Cooper about a month back(trying to locate your missing bases) and she asked if I was that crazy guy who just bought the other one and was having it sent back like a sissy. That place is harsh.
Did you hear on the news that a UPS plane en-route to Montana fell out of the sky losing all the cargo. They were trying an experimental run of goods without tracking numbers. I can tell you there are going to be several people upset over this. It's not like I really care though because I know how to be satisfied with a purchase.
I have to stop riding with earplugs. One older couple asked me for directions to the hospital yeterday and all I could do was shout FOLLOW ME! Then some guy at the gas station got out of his H2 and was trying to ask me about the bike. I just shout BUELL; I need to re-apply that graphic somewhere, or give out business cards. NUTS

The new Cooper is travelling through Indiana right now. I am checking every few hours to make sure it keeps heading in the right direction.

You know, after your unwillingness to risk life and limb to get my Raccoon out of that tree I am left wondering just what kind of friend your really are. If the shoe would have been on the other foot I would have done it for you (or at least pretend like I was trying). I guess you can pay me back by giving me first crack on Friday

Man I just topped off a great day!
As you know our hunting trip was fantastic and then I come home, flip on the tv and BAM! The farewell M.A.S.H. movie. As soon as it goes off Bullet (with Mickey Rourke) comes on. Got me so stoked I am now putting Harley Davidson And The Marlboro Man in the DVD player. That dude is about as hip as they come. I need to sell my bike and Icon gear and then build an FXR and get the official jacket. Might not be original but I would sure be cool (at least in my own little world).
Oh how I wanna be 30 again!!

Jackie, I have yet to receive "the call" and it is starting to make me NUTS. I just got back from my 221-BRP loop and I don't feel any better. You may be old but I am still feeling worthless. Maybe you passed your depression on to me. The wife says she should be able to make the cookout but I'll have to double finalize that once she starts this week. 91 miles on the "dirtiest Buell known to man" today. I am really wanting to go shooting soon. I found the feed store we need to put our ads up at. Route 11 just north of the Truckstop on 220. Plenty of tractors and overalls seen in the lot!. I've been trying to keep my mind off the P-H-O-N-E, but it's becoming increasingly difficult. I'll be heading over to rimfire central now to register and see what anyone has to say about the Mannlicher CZ. It is just too cool, I can imagine handing it down to my little one someday. NUTS

Man you and that Mannlicher! Course after the other night maybe I need one instead of the Cooper.
Looks like the wind is supposed to be WAILING tomorrow. If it is do you still want to venture out? If so be here at 3:30 so we can get there in time to make sure our scopes' are dead on to avoid anymore excuses.
I ordered my scope today. Nikon 4x-12x-50mm. Got it for $279.00 shipped which is almost half of what the Leupold costs. See, I CAN go the cheap route!!

Thanks for calling to see if I wanted to go riding. No matter, I wouldn't want to be seen with that dirty, half LineX'd bike anyway. Maybe if you get the front fender done I'll overlook the dirt and let you cruise with me once again.
See ya tomorrow hopefully!

I definitely need to get some riding or shooting in today. I know you'll be dreaming of wanna-be manly dudes on hollywood-cool bikes, while I'm out doing what I have to do. As soon as I hear from this job I'll be heading out to the shops to find me another rimfire. It looks like the Mannlicher is out as it doesn't support a scope very well. Besides I'll be looking for a real shooter. Call me if you get this before 3:30. I'm up for a hunt tonight regardless of the weather. NUTS

I looked at that earlier, nut I think I would rather have the .17. On GB there is a 77/22mag with extra Green Mountain SS fluted barrel. Same laminate not thumbhole and he wants $600. Now I am digging the 77/17 in the laminate/ss combo, but what about the Annie? I have to put my hands on em, so we might be taking a trip up to Maryland. I'll be planning to attend the next gunshow so maybe I can narrow it down for myself. It looks like rain otherwise I'd be riding. NUTS
