Bob,

Still using and loving the rear-tire stands you sold me last year. I was wondering what you use when you need to remove the rear wheel. I'm considering Handy stands (http://www.handyindustries.com/webdeals.asp), but thought I'd see what you do first. :)

Ferris, I will make SPLASH - it will be great to have you along again! You can keep an eye on Bob and see where he gets his stories from. I have other plans for the 11-13 but may be able to hook up with you somewhere along the "4play" route. I'll let you know when the date gets closer. Hey Bob, there's 6" of snow here at my home in the high desert! Later dudes! - MG

Stu, You have mail.

Mike G., you still runnin with that purdy little gal? and dont even give us any a that bavarian Motorscooter crap!
We know who makes um, Bend Motor Works.

J.D. I think the handy stands are cool but check this one outfront and rear.

I allways hang the bikes to any wheel replacment. It's just easy and you dont have the stand to hastle with. I have 3 Buell stands left if you know any one needing a set.

You coming to Splash this year? No Excuses!!

No Swiss on Tuesday as far as I know!

In The Rain Forest, bob

Stu,

It has been so long since Ferris has been on his S2, maybe he is in need of some training wheels?

Hey cuz Bob, That new lightning sure looked nice at the IMS. Maybe you should change your tag to Triumphnuts, although it just doesn't have the same ring to it, does it? ;- MG

Thanks Bob. I suppose I could tear some of the sheet-rock off of the celieng in my garage, or put up some hooks, but I'm feeling really lazy. (yz is torn down to the frame, too much fun stuff to do...)

Next time I'm at the dealership here I'll bring my stands down and ask my friends at the shop if they would be interested in buying a few. Yours are way cooler than the home made ones they sell. And cheaper too.

Ferris- Do you still have big red? Are you just trying to resurrect blurr from times past? Some of us have moved on to other brands. I guess what I'm trying to say is you won't be alone if you show up on big red. Besides it will look good parked next to our pimp boat I plan on bringing Friday to the lake. I hope the people living on Horseshoe Lake like it loud or were going to have a short day. Mike

hi Mike :)

yeah, still have the VFR. can't say enough about it as an all-around motorcycle: it does everything with poise and aplomb, whether fast, slow, short, long, or anything in-between.

i've hand-polished all the aluminum bits on it -- frame, wheels, forks, triple clamps, etc., etc. -- and it is a stunner to look at as well.

it's just about to turn over 50,000 miles, and not only is it still oil-tight (and coolant-tight) at all the seams, it doesn't burn even a single drop of oil between changes.

it is verrrry hard on the sides of tires, i suspect because of the linked-brakes (my riding style down here in the land of endless twisties probably doesn't help, either... ;))

one of the most amazing things about this bike, i think, is the performance that Honda is able to extract from an engine displacing less than 800 cc's -- 100-h.p. at the back tire, a nice, friendly torque curve from about 2500-rpm on, and 150-mph (indicated) on the big end. plus, the motor is pretty bitchin' to listen to when it's on the boil, as well...

other bikes have called my name in the two years i've had this machine, including the latest offerings from Buell, but it's gonna take quite a motorcycle to kick it out of the garage.

ok, now that i've given my pro-Honda speech for 2003.......

.......yeah, i've still got the BLURR, too :)

this bike was (IS!!!) the passport to one of the most remarkable periods of my life (your basic Huge Understatement), and even if the thing NEVER gets put back together, we'll be an item for a long, long time to come.

it's in a million pieces right now, right down to the frame, but the hope is to have it back in the wind, in all it's former glory, in time for FOUR-PLAY and SPLASH.

at present i'm polishing the fork assemblies (sigh, see a pattern here???) and redoing some of the wiring harness, whilst i save up enough scratch to attack the REAL problem, which is an engine-full of rear piston debris.

my Thunderbolt, even when breathing again on it's own, won't be the quickest, fastest, or most powerful scooter on the road.

what it WILL be, however, is.......

.......me.

ok, now that i've given my pro-Buell speech for 2003.......

one of the things i've always considered supremely special about any "Buell" ride i've ever organized or otherwise been a part of, is the unqualified acceptance of riders and machines of other brands.

notice i said "riders" as well as "machines".

man, woman, black, white, red, brown or any combination thereof; Buell, Honda, Triumph, Ducati, BMW, or any combination thereof; American, Canadian, Latin American, Asian, European or any combination thereof.

i guess this is turning into Ferris' First Speech (gag!) of 2003, but i'm genuinely proud of the fact that SPLASH has always openly and warmly and eagerly accepted one and all, regardless.

to steal one of Court's tag-lines: "Gads, I LOVE this sport!"

and to steal one of Vik's tag-lines: "EPIC!"

i DO love this sport, and the people associated with it, and the many great things that have come my way as a result.

and i STRONGLY suspect that this coming July will indeed be epic.

Happy New Year everyone, let the countdown begin!

J.D., No not yet. I dont know anyone that owns one. Thats weird!
Buelling seems to have faded a bit where our group is conserned. Even the Oregon and California part of the Group.

I say the group meaning people that we have met through Buelling and seem to meet up with year in and year out.

I'm not saying Buelling is dead by any means but changing due to Buell, HD, The amount of options one has for a new bike. (Cheap Horsepower)

When I started Buelling, There was the Speed Triple and the Buell seeming to be in a catagory of there own. It isn't that way anymore and so life goes on but with many people riding different rides.

Why did I get on that subject? Thinking of years past I guess. Hell If it weren't for Buell ownership, I would not have met the most amazing people in the country.

hey cuz, remember the first time we met? talk about a frikkin' RAIN forest!

FB :)

ps: i started the New Year off right today, by whippin' the Interceptor for several hours this afternoon.

blue skies, bright sun, and a high of 58 degrees; snow-capped mountains (Sierra's), sparkling rivers (Kern -- North Fork and South Fork), and not a straight-away in sight (Hwy. 155, Mountain Hwy. 99 and the Sierra Hwy.)

darn it all, no rain, tho -- sorry Bob :(

With the start of a "New Year" I decided to take a moment to reflect on some of 2002's "Good Times". Dead Sexy (aka Mike Wood), Bob & Debbie headed out to unventured territory and captured these moments - goodtimes Deb's rack kiss my --- Baby!

and an unforgettable weekend with G Clan and Steve from up North, Lonnie, Chris & Green Eric.

bicylindrico makes leaning at 6' 22'' look so easy
SV Lonnie lookin' sweet on her new ride!
dead sexy Mike leaning on Sweet Pea - easy now!
Bobby G 1st place here I come!
Deb's Hot she makes any bike look sweet!
boys & their toys Cody, Bob, Mike, Eric ready to kick some tail.
winning feels good winning feels so good even if it comes with a price.

....and for the future of 2003 FB wanted to know about the "Pimp Boat" well here is the "Pimp Daddy Dead Sexy Himself" sporting a Lean - whether on a motorcycle or on top of the water, he truly is amazing! (says his wife of nearly 14 yrs) lean

Lookin' forward to improvin' the skills this year and spending time with Good people.
