Thank you everyone and thank you Carlos for the great job you have done and will continue to do-I have some big shoes to fill. Besides, we all know who's really running this club anyway and it ain't either of us.

As a note, the primary officers are:
Dave Dusterberg-Director
Brankin Brehmer-Assistant Director
Carlos Suarez-Treasurer
Pauletta Dusterberg-Secratary

On that note, everyone owes a lot of thanks to Kristi and Pauletta as they do a huge amount of behind the scenes work for the club. Simply put-our pending adventures to Daytona and MB-3 would not be as far along they are without them. I'd like to nominate Kristi to the position of Events Director!

Things are looking good for this year with C3, and the intention is to keep that momentum growing.

Brankin. I too was surprised and pleased to see John make that offer. If you need some dog hair to complete the look David was sporting, stop by, I've got plenty of dog hair I can spare here. John if you read this-thanks! Hear that folks-possible free stuff just for attending the monthly meetings

On the XBRR brochures, they're just to get the word out about the bike. It's nothing more than an indirect sales tool to help move street going Buells. "Sorry-all the XBRR's are spoken for, and they're for competition only anyway. See-no lights, or any street equipment, but let me show you an XB12R..........."

Some business-we're going to be needing some Road Captains to help with coming up with some ride routes and destinations, particularly in Wake Co and surrounding area. I'd like to see at least one group ride a month and really want to spread the joy on this one. We're a group that covers a lot of geography and our goal is to get as many together as much as possible as we can. Rubberdown has been asking time and again for us to come his way, so why don't we? Believe it or not, there's some fun stuff around these parts with some cool destinations. Southern Marine I think would live on Old Maple Hill Rd if it were his choice....

Some other volunteer opportunities for the club are:

-poster boards in each of the Shelton's stores boasting of C3, we need people to help with that. We have to grow the club, that means more members but we have to let them know we exist.

-that leads to a need for funds for supplies, which means fund raising (that and give the treasurer something to do). There's going to be opportunities at the dealership(s) for test rides this spring again. We could sell refreshments and tout the bikes, the club, and help with the Buell test rides, we need people to help with that.

-so we can do things like the cool C3 decals, patches, magnets, and banners (BTW-I like latest rendering without the name in it, let 'em ask!)

-so we can have funds to do things like BattleTrax, or get Erik to show up at an event.

-which means also we are going to have to start asking for dues. It won't be a lot, $10 a year, but it will give us the needed seed money to fund some of these things.

-which leads to this, we need everyone to attend the next meeting so we can register you as official members. Right now, the official membership stands at five as far as BRAG is concerned. Now there's definitely more than five of us, we need to get that on file.

-speaking of monthly meetings, the decision was made to hold monthly BRAG meetings the second Saturday of each month unless there's a conflict with another C3 event. Looking at the calendar, the only conflict is March, where half of the officers are going to be in Daytona for the 200 so for March only, it would be the third Saturday, March 18th.

This year for C3 has gotten off to a great start. The IMS show in DC was a blast, looks like Daytona for those who can attend will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. March Badness is shaping up to be the best attended C3 adventure yet. We filled the biggest barn in the area and had to go looking for more lodging-how cool is that! Winter has curtailed some of the riding, but Jim and Rebecca's road captained Whirlygig ride last month was interesting and a lot of fun.

This is what we're about, 2006 is young, let's make it a very memorable year................

Peace out,
Dave

I like that one too. Besides, if I get pulled over by the law, I don't want anything that screams "I'm a bad ass," anywhere close by.

Hotrats - Thanks for the offer. I may take you up on it sometime.

I thought I might have a fuel injection problem, but I had them look at it when they put the bags on and they say it's fine. Not having much experience with bikes, I end up with a lot of "is it supposed to do this?" questions.

I'm not sure what a road captain is, but I'm guess it's someone who plans a ride? I'm in Wake Co, and as the proud new owner of "Day Trips from Raleigh-Durham," I'll be glad to see if I can come up with interesting destinations.

You mentioned going to rubberdown town. All I can say is do it, you'll have a great time. I believe u4euh whats to get a bunch of people together at his place, which I believe is a farm. He has offered to let people stay there before. I smell bonfire.

Oh yea, thats me. I went to a party last night. They were thrilled to have me there so I could drive their drunk asses around town. I felt decidedly non-badass. Of course I'm not the one who has wake up this morning realize I tried to give my best friend a BJ

Does anyone near Raleigh have a table saw they would be willing to use to cut 6 shelves for me?

Thanks,

I think Brankin and Rebecca are going to enjoy swapping stories.

Rubberdown -- check with Hotrats, I think he was looking for someone else to share their cabin with. It's not far from C3 Central.

1313 -- don't say I've never done anything for you! Hope you enjoy the shirt.

Southern -- I like the 2nd C3 artwork. If all are in agreement, I'll take that artwork to Janine and see about magnets, decals, etc.

Aydenxb9 -- I guess you're going to force me to pay $25 to BRAG to become an "official" member. If all agree, I'll coordinate events. March Badness has been fun to plan. I hope it's as much fun as I think it's going to be.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Zxzer04-- don't guess you'll need the saddle bags now. see you in fla.
Rubberdown-- we've rented the 'deerview' cabin on suches.com. there are 3 of us going, cabin looks to sleep 4 easy. shout if you need a place.
Ulywife-- there is a business here in eden that does embroidery. when C3 design is finalized i can check on prices to have things done. once they have design in computer, cost is reasonable. also, i have about a dozen hats with hand sewn pegasys on them - anyone want one with the C3 design on it?

Okay Jim, people usually state Good or Great job, but I guess BEST JOB will do. They must have really like your driving though.

Road Captains - This is an idea we talked about in the meeting. The main objective is to have each one us come up with either a destination or route to ride. Since our geographical area is so big, we each have knowledge of the best locations and roads in our area to ride. So to promote local rides like the one Jim put together to the Wirlygigs is a great way for us to get together for day, or in some cases overnight, rides. The goal is at least one per month. Now I am going to have to get me Cliff Notes like Jim, or find another Mecca like David to hope to come up with something new and fun at that level. Now for Jim and I, I have found some great roads less pavement, does that count? Anyway what does everyone think of the idea?

C3 Friends - This is one more thing we discussed in the meeting. We want to be an inclusive group, not exclusive group. We really want to cater to the adventure riders. With things like our poster board and possibly our web page, we want to reach out to the adventure riders in the area. In our group now we have several riders that ride motorcycles other than Buells, mostly Harleys. I believe that there are allot more riders out there in the Harley ranks that would enjoy riding with the C3ers. We have several people and or couples that have both Buells and Harleys in their Stable like Brankin, Mike, both the Marks (Webe and Sporty) and their better halves, and Dave & Buelletta. I know that there are others that ride Sportser Rs and Super Glide Sports that would appreciate our group. We have new friends like Vstromman, at work there is a new engineer that has a Ducati Monster 750, another fella Dave and I met in Jacksonville with a Ducati S4T, all good examples of those that either have or want to ride with us. So this is where we came up with the the C3-Friends group. This will be a group that rides with us but are not BRAG member, either because they do not ride Buells or just not BRAG members. This group will be included in our communications, planning and riding with us on adventures. So all are welcome. I think we are a fun group, that like the aggressive side of sanity riding, and enjoy each others company. The more the merrier.

Again, for Daytona the earlier the better. We left right about day break last year and really I would like to move it up about an hour. If we are going to catch up to those further south, we need to leave Kinston about 6am, so we can get to I-95 near Fayetteville by 7:30am. That will put us at Lumberton around 8:30am to collect the rest of the group. Jim, you and Larry will have to decide how long it will take to get to Hwy-13 & I-95 by 7:30am. Last time we rode to Daytona it was 600 miles from Kinston. If we want to make it early enough to enjoy Friday night at Nick's or run over to the Main strip at Daytona, we will have to get going early.

David, I vote for the one without the words. The bigger emblem is just cool!!

Carlos, I don't know where hwy-13 is, however meeting up in Benson is probably best for the people comming from this area. Anything north of that involves us riding in the wrong direction, and it's already a 600 mile trip.

I may head south and ride to Lumberton with rubberdown. I think it would be a lot of fun, but I'll have to look at a map first. My longest trip to date is 300 miles, I'm a bit nervous about a 600 mile ride.

Hey Guys, Sorry I have been sorta out of the game,so to speak. I have so much going on including those things that all of us deal with, like MONEY(i.e. wife still mad about the bags ) and honestly killing a car and having to buy one a lot more expensive to cover the difference is not good on the wallet. And some of the other difficulties we have in our little crazy house.

I had to go to Greensboro to pickup a Bo-Flex and treadmill from a friend(wife has decided that I am fat). Got back and helped Spike get his Piano in his house. Pretty cool to have a 100 year old Piano, and then his dad rocked on it for a while. And nobody died in the moving either.

As for leaving early of course you know that morning it will be 19 degrees. I would rather leave earlier than later myself. And Jim as for the 600+ mile ride you think your scared? you have a cushy Uly that I have heard rides better than the Ultra Classic, I am on a Bolt...Probably have to pry my old @$$ off it in Daytona.

Hotrats-Thanks for the saddlebag offer. I had been talking to my wife about bags for a while as I ride to work regularly. I kinda snuck our tax return money for them (see above).

Jim, I may be drunk with enthusiasm but I still can tell North from South. US-13 intersects I-95 just north of Fayetteville. See Map below, you will see US-13 coming in from the top right.

By the way, we did have a practice run last year.

The picture above is when Brankin and I met Spike last year.

As far as for the long ride, man you are on was designed for 10 hours days, and I believe you will do fine. I have to admit, I am a bit anxious to go on a long ride on the Uly. I want to pull out the standard seat, but I think I will hold out with the low.
