Hey all! Back from SC. Took the family down there to see more family...both sides are predominately in the Sumter Co area. The good thing about having family close is multiple Thanksgiving meals ;). For now I'll say things went pretty good though there was that incident (In the in-laws front yard) involving the niece's boy friend's Impala SS and the sister-in-law's Chevy van. No biggie...till someone decided the insurance company and police had to be called after an evening of festivities. ;) And with any event down home, there was alcohol, pool, firearms, and wrestling/NASCAR involved.

re Tiger: Now who can want another color that draws so many comments? hahaha. I mean sure, some people cannot say anything when seeing it because it's triggered a seizure. ;) Flat black...hmmm too commando for me. I'd be forced to get a scabbard for a semi-auto military like rifle I have and pack my desert eagle. Now maybe black with semi-gloss stripes....

You're right Frank, it does look like something out of Jurassic Park. I think I see the Jurassic Park logo appear in the stripes when I stare at it for about 20 minutes and cross my eyes. hahaha Hell I'd put a JP logo on it...yeah...didn't they use a Tiger on set for running errands...hmm.

Thanks Steve for setting up the pictures on DC BRAG. As always, a super job. That Oz reference...it must be subliminal 'cause it hit me too.

Richie: I'm not stepping away from Buell..."Some" people think it's a bit obsessive to have 4 motorcycles. Soooo...one will have ta go...soon...shortly...hahaha...really. Besides, I'll see about getting Buell logos for the Tiger...that'll confuse the hell outta everyone. ;)

JOsh. I have a new Buell Race Muffler. I need to confirm it's the 99 p/n.

John wants to flog my duc! The Horror! The shameless tart! I'll put in fresh oil just for the occasion!

She's a real charmer! Had her doing courier duty this week for holiday calendars...have to say her manners are improving with passing miles.

She was telling me that her sister is a blonde 748...and then she said something about how much fun two Italian babes could be...sounds a bit risky.

Here's an email from Neil and my response...

Neil...I rode up to Litchfield IL yesterday to ride with Fred Ziglar and his new ST1300 ABS...Fred's the national president of HSTA and lives in Hillsboro IL...He offered a demo ride but I declined and just rode it around the lot at Niehaus...Bill Jones did take it out on the street and was really impressed...Fred had just completed the 300 mile go slow period and wheelied away after lunch...By the way, he did find us quite a few curves to ride so I think the Illini riders have been sandbagging us regarding these...They want to keep their fav roads a deep, dark secret...Fred has the Honda heated grips, radio and a top box ordered from the UK...Add these and the cruise control available after market and it's, well, just about everything on my wish list...And the color is beautiful...But I'm still waiting to ride the K1200GT before I pull the trigger but it's really getting harder to wait...

See Ya!

nuther ball game”. It even has more vibration than
the “electric motor” feel of the 1100 (but nowhere
objectionable or bothersome) and has a groan/ wail
through the intake when you twist the gas that just
starts your blood boiling. This one lets you know
that you are getting somewhere in a BIG hurry and has
some real character! Hey it’s still a V-engined
motorcycle, just an extra 2 cylinders and 90deg
rotation. Should give those BMW’s a real run for their
$’s. Seems real light handling but very stable. At
47deg and only 110 miles I couldn’t push it in the
turns but, they are real stable and great fun to ride.

Let's see keep the X-3 and beg my Wife for $12K for
something she will never do, oh well a divorce is
cheaper.

Frank...As usual you've cut right to the chase of the matter...My beemer came with a 36 month, 36,000 mile warranty...I ran through it in 10 months and it has not been without it's problems...Three neutral sensors (one clutch, one other and it's failing again as I write this)...And I had a seal leak on the drive shaft...For an additional $500, you can get a 7 year, unlimited warranty on the ST...But, I don't know if this is "bumper to bumper" or what is not covered...Have to look into this...Also I need to look into how to mount auxillary lights...Nothing needs to happen until Spring and it would probably be a good idea to let the ST demand be satisfied a bit so that the dealer is not totally in the driver's seat...

Also John, whose opinion I really value, thinks that in the long run a beemer will outlast a Honda...Man, nothing is ever simple...

See Ya!

Bob

p.s...When John and I were at Donelson Saturday I purchased a Gerbing jacket liner and used it for the first time yesterday...Much warmer than the Widder...Also it seems to heat up faster...

Bob,
I bet they have some kind of mileage restriction on the extended warranty...

Something I thought I'd throw out there...

I've been hunting for an X1 frontend, and been kind of keeping an eye on the market. It seems noone is getting rid of their S3's...Hmmmm..wonder why that is...is it because noone has bought S3's, or because they aren't popular? I think it's neither. I think people are doing the right thing, and keeping them. There's no way in hell that the current platform will accomodate us tall, fat, ugly(THERE, HEATHER..I said it :P)guys for sport touring excursions. I also think (probably like everyone else on this board) that Buell is making a big mistake by not offering something "bigger w/ bags" Then again, who the hell knows...Maybe they'll prove us wrong in our impatient impulse reaction I certainly hope so...but I'm still getting another tuber regardless. Hmmm...is "5" bikes the point where people consider you mental, and ship you off to the funny farm along with people like John?? heeheeheehee

Just figured I'd stir the kettle a bit...You guys are aaaaaaweful quiet in the winter time (well...all except Bob...)
What do you guys think about that selling stuff?

keep it real, homee's

Frank...Went over to Chesterfield Valley Power Sports today and there are no restrictions on the warranty...The base warranty is 3 year, unlimited and for $585 another four years, same coverage which is basically bumper to bumper...I still want to read the warranty...So in seven years, let's see, I could probably have at least 280,000 miles on the scoot...Un-friggin'-believable!...

And now I hear that Jim Radcliff is not going to take delivery of his ABS model in January...Hmmmm!...Don't know if I can assume his position in line, though...

When at Donelson's with John on Sat I bought a Gerbing jacket liner...Last night I went out about 2300 with just a thermal top and bottom, the Gerbing jacket and my 'Stich and ran 80 to 90 mph out 44 about 20 miles and back and it was comfy...Only had the jacket up about half way...It's also less bulky than my Widder...I'm pleased...

Frank...I'm still undecided as to whether I'll part with Pumpkin so if you and DAve can get together, please do so...Besides, he needs paint money...

See Ya!

Digger,
We go duck hunt'n all the time. I rode one the other day!

Bob,
Dee's home. Doc added 3 screws. Digit now points forward in a normal fashion. The normal 6-8 weeks recovery. First thing she does when I get her home is let Nike out into the back yard with the gate open. "Oh, Oh, John, John, Help, Help!!!!!"
Some things will never change.

Much snow and ice on the roads today. Tire studs required for quick acceleration. Rough on inner rear fenders. Studs on front tire stay in better.

WARNING.... if you ride behind me, keep your shield down. Studs will penetrate the face and skull!

Yualll have a goood time now, ya hear.

Please note the time change for this Saturday's First Saturday Ride...After much deliberation and consultation (yea, about 30 seconds!), it
has been agreed that we should change the departure time to
1100...AND, for those of you who don't plan on riding, please come on
out to CVPS and make up a group to go on out to lunch...AND, for
those of you who do plan on riding (moi), we can always bail and join
the first group should the roads still be crap (can I say that?)...

See Ya!

Bob, you can say anything you want, buddy...you're the "almighty" tour guide, remember?? Also, if I have to buy DAve's bike to get you to keep Pumpkin, then by all means I'll do it...that's if he decides to gimme a decent deal and some kinda info on that piece of bike :D

That warranty doesn't sound too bad...I'll buy ya a porkchop for every 100,000 miles you put on it :D. Only condition is we all have to get together and ride down to that place...what the hell was it called.......

p.s. and YES that means you too, gravedigger and heather

Richie...Did you get the jacket or the vest...Hope it's the jacket because the sleeves are the thing...You can wear much less and get the heat closer to the skin...

Frank...DAve's bike is, well, probably the cleanest Buell in the country...Hell, he treats it like it's a Springer...We've only seen it dirty twice and both times were on road trips but I noticed it was clean again the next day...Now mine looks like someone got real sick close by...

Keith...Does Heather cook your goose?...Does she baste it in that "special sauce"?...

Anyone got PMS yet?...

See Ya!

Did ya get my email Franky? :) Okay Okay ... ya need another still? hahaha

Bob...Your recommendation is Gerbing over Widder? That was Brian's as well. I'm making a suggestion for the gift list and the Gerbing web site shows top or bottoms for $199.

Dave...MCN did a comparo and the Gerbing got hotter and hotter faster than Widder...Guess it doesn't get that cold in CA...I also understand that the controller is a bit better in that in actually draws less as the heat is turned down...The Widder is a constant draw, no matter what the setting...Only thing in question is whether the Gerbing will hold up as well...Some say the elements don't last as long...So I guess I'm doing a long term test just like the big boys...

See Ya!
