I thought for sure I was going either under that ladies car or over the edge of Yarnell hill.

Were you going up or down Yarnell???

Gabe: Thats too bad about Jane not passing. She'll get it next time. I would recommend getting a cheap dirt bike or streetbike for under a 1000.00 and let her practice on that.
If you give me enough to buy another Firebolt she can use mine.

Carey: He was going up the hill.

Dan: Sweet Caddy!

"My wife thinks the Busa is sexy. That's almost like a green light for the purchase!! " Ah.....looks like it was! Did ya trade in the Buell or sell it first? Congrats on the new ride either way, even though you're now riding the world's fastest jelly bean!

I'm actually quite jealous...I've been lusting after a few different new bikes, but an unable to pull the trigger due to the move etc...hopefully by this time next year daddy will have a new toy for Christmas too!

Town and Country gave me $500 less than what I originally paid for the Buell in trade (and I put over ten thousand miles on it), plus the Busa was the last of the 05 models so they knocked $1500 off of MSRP to move it out. I wanted to haggle for an Icon jacket for the wife, but I think I got a pretty good deal.

Hey all,

Had a blast my first time at the track on Sunday. From what I saw I was the only one running a Buell. Hopefully there will be more of us next time. Well I learned a lot, and realized that I have a whole lot more to learn. But I can't wait to go again.
I also realized that I need lower handlebars. I've seen what American Sport Bike has to offer. While they look great, they're kinda pricey. Anyone have any ideas on bars that won't cost $250?

I'm going to try to upload a few pics that my girlfriend took.

Kelly. Sorry we did not connect I was running two Buells over on the long track (Drag strip) all day. Cary J stopped by for a visit and we circled the lot but did not see you or anyone else. So here is my report. The 9R (Race ecm, drilled 12 cover, K&N, drummer)lets me go anywhere on the track I want any line even change lines in the corners. You can lean it over with out hanging off enough to scrape boots(I took the whiskers off already). It runs out of power at about 3/4 of the drag strip and the Ducati was always pulling away from me by about 10 car lengths but I would catch him by mid course and be on his tire way before the start of the strip again. If I was in front then he could not catch me in the corners until the drag strip section. So I believe the 9R to be the best in the corners with the exception of the guy on the K1200S that smoked both of us on the strip and we never saw him again in the corners. Next I tried the 12X with only the K&N filter. I could ride just about any line I wanted and change line in the corners. Overall lap times not as quick against the Duc as the 9R as I could not out run him in the corners when I was in front. I had the gps on it and was hitting 107 by the end of the strip. As for the riding experience I believe the 12X let me feel like I was on the bike and it is taller but you can still lean it way way over, but the 9R feels like you wear the bike and just use mind control to go where you want. To tell you the truth if it was as fast as the K1200S I am sure I would be a splat on a wall somewhere.

thanks for the tip on editing the pics, but this labtop is not mine, so no downloads. And I'd buy a Dell for myself, but I keep spending my money on motorcycle stuff... go figure.

csg_inc: no worries. I had a great time anyway. I kept trying, but I wasn't quite able to get a knee down on the ground. I'm sure my technique needs work. But I did get my right peg to grind for a little while! I can't wait for next time so I can improve myself and push it just a little bit farther. And I won't be running in the beginner group where people kept getting in my way. It wasn't until the last session that I was able to set up for each corner the way I wanted to.

see you all in the corners!

Where was everyone???? I was at the AZ Trackday event on the west track (morning session). Rode in the Intermediate group, 1st two rounds on the Kawi, the last 2 rounds on the Buell. As I was leaving, I saw someone on an S model doing a tire change or some sort of suspension adjustment, but didn't see them on the track... Need more Buells out there! : )

Kelly: Glad you had a good time, we will see you out there next month. You really dont need to get a knee down to run fast, just be smooth then the technique will come. Get the handlebars they are worth the money. I believe Mikel aka Wyckedflesh has the top clamp for the set-up you are inquiring about shoot him a PM. E-MAIL me the pics you want posted and I'll see what I can do.

Ed: I hear you on the more Buell's comment. The bikes are at home on that track. Its like they were made for each other. See ya next month.

Dave: Two Buell's on the same trackday I'm envious!

Kelly I tossed you a PM about the crossroads bars from American Sport Bike.

My weekends are now failry well booked up for quite awhile so I won't be able to get out to do photowork again any time soon. I am still working on the negatives I have, just haven't had the timeframe to get them worked on.

Where was everyone????

I did the afternoon session, that's probably why you didn't see me. I set up by the fence down from the entrance. and it probably was me getting my suspension tweaked a little bit. He only did a few adjustments, but it made a huge difference. only $20 too. not bad considering I would have know idea what to do.

thanks for offering the top clamp too.

Sorry bout the illness Carey...hope ya feel better, now.

I've been super busy with work. The Public Works Department for the tribe I work for discovered a prehistoric cemetery while trenching for a new home on the Rez. I've excavated 15 bodies over the last week and a half.

On a lighter note, I've been having WAY TOO MUCH FUN breaking in the Busa. I've got about 500 miles on the clock now. It's an amazingly smooth machine. The tranny is like butter compared to the Buell. I can hardly wait to open it up.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season.

Anybody want to get together for a ride?

By the way I got married today, after 3 years we figured it was time to make it official. Thanks to Andrew and his wife(Donna) for being there with us

Anybody not already pre-occupied this saturday is welcome to come to my house for some home cooked meals and good company.
Happy Holidays everyone.

Merry Christmas all!

Hey J, Congrats on your union, I just saw that. I wish you guys the best!

Looks like you guys had fun at the track. Eliz is the best wife ever. I got a full trackday for Christmas! It's scheduled for March so maybe you guys could save your pennies and we could all go out together and make that Buell showing you guys were talking about. I'm over here in Yuma and a shift worker so I don't make it out that much... Hope to at least see some of you while I'm up there.
