Ken,

You are doing a fantastic job. My preference is page4,#2, but with either white or black lettering. That would keep the number of colors and cost down.

Should we ever go all the way back to the 1960's, the Easter Egg (page5,#3) would be a real hit! Deja Vu...or is that just another flashback?

Ken,

Your website took a dump again. Why do I get the feeling that everyone on the BWB is either admiring or plagiarizing your genius?

Question and possible consideration...

How do you clean a light colored patch on a either a fabric or leather MC jacket?

Answer,
You don't. You let them mature and age gracefully. Either that or ride in the rain a lot.

Clean??? you guys are talking about that laundry thing. I heard about that, I think my girlfriend mentioned it once or twice. Something like "I am never doing your laundry again for you blah blah blah... you lazy blah blah blah"

Ha ha

I clean my patches the exact way that Mikej suggested !!!!! Nothing wrong with maturing and aging gracefully !!!

Here's a different twist on laundry, my ex wouldn't let me do his, becuase I didn't remember to always take it out of the dryer the SECOND the buzzer went off. God forbid it should have a wrinkle in it or something !! (ha ha) So Ken, I can give your girlfriend some helpful tips to help her avoid having to do your laundry !! :)

And The Survey Says...

9 out of every 10 wish they aged as gracefully as Mike and Bill.

Put me on a bike and you get "Puer Eternis", the eternal boy.

Bomber...

You are as well.

FYI, Eddie Mulder still runs flat track and TT at Willow Springs for the Moto Corsica each year. He still runs his old bikes and the field is open to all.

Eddie must be bored with lapping the field in each race as he recently opened a school for the sport. You may want to take your old Yamahopper out there and get some pointers before going back on the circuit.

Heck, I would place a wager on ya!!!

Ken...

CJ is right. Do your own laundry but avoid doing hers at all costs. Women have a scientific formula for sorting and separating loads as well as an uncanny knack of selecting just the right temperature and chemical additives.

Keep it simple. Put it all in one load, cold water and pray the new maroon sweat shirt does not render you with pink underwear. Translation: The girls are right and some things do need to be separated.

CJ, like your Ex, I did my own during the first few months of second marriage. Had nothing to do with ability or finicky behavior. I truly believed that with a Bride and two daughters I was helping out. Backfired big time. Funny thing is in final days, she admitted she wished she had never banned me from the laundry. LMAO. Oh, the things we learn in life.

Honestly, If I am going to wear Brew Cities Colors I would like them to be bright for all to admire and I just could not figure out how to do that without destroying my leather jackets. The Textile ones, I really have no problem with compliments to a few too many years in the army.

FYI, the girls also preferred my cooking over mom's. I cooked they ate, she cooked and they headed For the closest fast food chain. Go figure.

I got banned once too. I put her bras in with my underwear and socks. The hot water warped her underwires!
She said, "look at this! They're lopsided!"
I said "I'd tell the plastic surgeon to fix it like the other one or give you 1/2 your money back."
Maybe that's where things went wrong.

My wife cant really cook either. Her idea of a home cooked meal is actually having to call for the pizza delivery herself. And yes guys she will even admit to that:)

Bill,
Sorry to take everyone out of the laundry room and kitchen, but I remember something so let's go back to the sewing room for a moment...

On keeping the patches clean, I've seen a few where someone sewed velcro (or Velcro(tm)) to the patch and the jacket. They put the hook on the part not getting run through the washer if I remember right, and the pile side on the washable part. Seemed to work. I think some military do this as well with some of their field patches, or for when they don't want their rank or affilitations known to undesirables.

Okay, I'm going out to the garage now and get greasy. Uh, wait, I'm at work, nevermind. Maybe I'll just walk back to diecast and get all smokey and sweaty instead.

Johnny Mikosh (sp?) of Uke's crew seems to have clear plastic sewn over his patches . . . . . seems a bit extreme to me (like plastic seatcovers on the couch), but to each his own

personnaly, I like to thinks that patches and pins that many folks have on their jackets tell a story, and, of course, the varying degrees of fade to them helps map a timeline . . . kinda archeological, yes?

I remember the first time I saw a 14 year old dentist's daughter walking past in her A2 wannabe jacket covered with squadron patches prooving she'd flown again the Red Baron, the best the Japanese navy could lauch at Midway, patrolled Mig Alley in Korea, straffed Haiphong harbor, and deep-sixed a couple of camels during desert storm . . . . . . .. funny, but she didn't LOOK that old!

Bill

you think I should rebuild the 650, spoon some DTs on the rims, haul it, and myself, to the left coast, just so's I can add Eddie Mulder to the list of champs that have waxed me?

hmmmmmmm . . .. . .

the 650 will run again, but likely on the street . . . . the, ehem, aftermarket modifications to both knees make me a little quesy even thinking about a steel shoe . . . . .

but thanks!
