Kevin,
You would be talking about Murrae, the service manager at Santa Fe HD/Buell.
As far as BRAG rides in the upcoming year, I haven't heard too much about the schedule. I will look into it more and email you when I find out.
until then...

Kevin, November weather here is going to be very cool. It is down right cold on the crest and I never ride up there after mid to late October. Going north to Taos, Red River, etc is also cold and not normally bike friendly. Every once in a while you'll get an unusually warm week or so, but it's better to ride the southern part of the state at that time. I haven't gotten to ride them, but I hear the area around Ruidoso is nice. But it's a pain to get to it.

Bart: It's official. I'm going. I accepted the offer today and have to be at work on Monday. That's why they say Hyatt stands for Have Your There Tomorrow.

I need to get my bike up to SFHD to drop it off. I'm going to contract with that moving company that BRAG uses to move it to a dealer in the LA area. That way I don't have to try loading it myself or otherwise fouling it up. I can't ride since I have two cars to get out there and they'll only pay mileage for me once and wife once. I'm going to try to drop it up there sometime between now and early Sunday. I need to be on the road by lunchtime Sunday to get out there.

Looks like the BRAG club directorship is now going to be open. Give you one guess who Murrae is going to lean on!

I don't think I'll be able to do Octoberfast but will look forward to hooking up with some other buellers in Cali.

Dang CJ, If I'd known that Farting while riding in front of you was going to run you off, I would have let you lead more often. : ( Sniff, sniff, I can't believe your leaving me,
I hope the "big city" works out for you. Make sure you look up Al with American Sportbike, and of course, Victor, (Viros) I believe they are both in the LA area. I wish you and your family the best of luck.
BRAG does offer a good deal on having your bike moved, I used them back in '04 to get my bike back from Pennsylvania when I got sick due to the Stills desease.
Murrae can lean all he wants, you know how I am about riding with squids. I'd rather move than ride with an unsafe group. LOL I don't think anyone would want to be part of a BRAG group that is run like the Marines. : )
I'll be riding the Jemez this Saturday with a friend from Phoenix, that is coming in for the weekend. Any chance we can get together on Saturday night so I can see ya one last time? It would be nice to at least have a cold one with you before you go. I'll give you a call on your cell.

Kevin,
Don't let CJ scare you away. With him gone I have no one to ride with, so I NEED to import riders, LOL.
Just bring some long johns! I know one of Murrae's techs rides year 'round, but he uses electric vest, chaps, and gloves. I've been thinking of purchasing a set myself. I'll be riding the Crest on a weekly basis and keep you posted as to the temp changes.

Ghostrider, why did you say Ruidoso is a pain to get to...

Well, Kelly from Phoenix made it out here this weekend for some fun in the sun. We had a good time tearing up the roads over Jemez Springs, past Los Alamos, and then went up Sandia Peak to view the city.

This was at Soda dam along the Jemez river.

this was at Valles Caldera Natl monument. a huge open basin. While here, we say a group of hunters with a HUGE elk in the bed of their truck grinning from ear to ear.

Coming down out of Los Alamos, you could see the snow on the peaks above both Taos, and Santa Fe. Brrrrr, snow already!

Here's Kelly up at Sandia Peak

The Balloon fiesta was also going on this weekend, about 700 balloons participated. we tried to get some pics with the balloons in the background.

It was a good ride and a fun weekend. Thanks Kelly for coming out to New Mexico. Next time I'll try not to fall down on any corners!
: )

Bart, I need help. The movers want the gas tank drained on my bike in order to load it. They didn't tell me that until after I left. Any chance you could help me out? The other problem is that Angela is now coming out here tomorrow night right from work and will be here until Friday. The movers show up Thursday. This is a pain. I'll call you later.

Thanks in advance.

Hmmm, remember I asked that Saturday night?
Just let me know what you need. I can swing by there and drain it if you want. You'll have to give me directions again. Will Angela be at the house tonight? If so, and you see this in time, I can go up there and do it tonight so it's ready to go.

I think she will. She mentioned going shopping for new suits, but I think she'll be back before long. I'll call her.

North on Hwy 528 to Grande Vista, turn right. Second left on Roadrunner Loop and first Right on Crow Rd. 5th house on right, 6367.

Thanks!!

when you gonna come over to az? summer's done so it's definitly cool enough now. i still haven't done 191, maybe we could hit that? I'm sure i could get a few more riders to go with if you want.

oh, i got you a little something while i was on vacation. couldn't get a hat, but i think you'll like it. email me your address and i'll mail it out.

well since no one else in nm is riding, i guess you'll have to have your own fun.

til then,

Kelly,
I was just out in AZ this past weekend. Had a small crisis with my Step-Dad, all is well now. I brought the city-X out and managed to do South Mountain early Sunday morning. Sunrise was great!
I tried to get a hold of Brian, but he wasn't answering his phone and didn't respond to my voicemails. It was nice to feel 90+ temps again, LOL. It's only around 75 out here in the afternoons.

Yea, I can't seem to find any Buellers to ride with, I guess they just use their bikes for commuting? I did manage to stumble into this gal, She rides a roadking, or as she calls it, "rolling closet".
Miss Mona AKA Fastgirl
She does a good job of scraping the floorboards on that thing and was in heaven the day I let her ride the city-X. Now she's looking for a Buell, LOL. So I may end up having ONE Bueller to ride with after all. he he he

Hwy191 would be pretty cold right now, it may be 90 degrees in the valley, but it's about 60 degrees or colder at Hannagins Meadows. Still, it's a thought, let me see what I have coming up here in early November...

I'll email you my mailing address, stay out of trouble, and keep the rubber side down my friend... : )

she's cute bart.

you're probably right about 191. it's down to the low 80's here during the day and 50's at night. well if you figure out when you might come out we'll figure something out.

i haven't even scuffed in my new tire yet. i've been trying to wait for my new gear to come in the mail first, just in case...

take care, ride safe, but most of all have fun!

Bart, looks like I'll be going up to Arkansas for a few days during Thanksgiving... I'll take you up on the offer of showing me a few roads this spring. I do want to explore a bit of NM and I'd like it to be warmer so I can go up to Sandia,etc...

Well, I finally got the bike out for a ride. After they unloaded it on 10/17, it sat in the carport for two weeks doing nothing. I haven't had a day off in for friggin ever, so I was getting cranky. I rolled it down the block to the gas station and gassed it up, started right up and away I went. It was a little rough at first, but I think that was the ECM being WAAAYY out of whack. I did the 3000rpm for 30 seconds thing, and it settled right down. It seems as if it pulls harder down here at sea level. Is that possible? Or have I just been out of the saddle so long that I have no idea how torque feels anymore?

Anyway, rode up PCH to Malibu, got lunch, met another Bueller who didn't stick around, and then went thru Topanga Canyon Road. Nothing to write home about, but the curves were ok. Would have been better without all the cars.

This coming weekend I'm off, so I'm anticipating some more exploring. I'll post some pics when I take em.

Bart,
Have you gotten the new Fuell yet? We're both on the cover! To bad you can't see our ugly mugs in that pic. But we're also in 3 other pics in it. I'd say that's pretty good.

So your not missing a whole lot on our rides here in az. Our last ride was spent looking for riders who turned around and went home 10 miles into the ride and sitting with a fallen rider for 2 hours because he tried to keep up with us faster more experienced riders. I posted how i felt about wasting the day away on the az board and a couple people agreed. I just wish people used some common sense and rode within their limits. Maybe i ask to much from people...

Anyway, you're missing great cool weather riding here. You're always welcome anytime you want to do a ride.

Ghostrider,
Looks like your at least getting out and about. Your in the same boat as me, no one to ride with, LOL. Too bad, sooooo sad!!!

Brian,
I'll be back! I'll call you again before I head out your way, try to get a kitchen pass!!!

Kelly,
No, I have not received the new Fuell! : ( I'm really bummed about that. I've been having problems with snail-mail.

Sorry your last ride wasn't as enjoyable as you had hoped, but proper planning and a good ride captain can make or break an organized ride.
Don't say I didn't warn you...

On a happy note on this side of the world, I've been riding every weekend, granted, I've been freezing my arse off, but I've still been having a great time. Too bad it's spent leading Harley's. Oh well, I guess they are the only ones willing to ride in this weather. Dang buell riding pussies. : )
