I just associate "streetfighter" with a type of bike !?? Anytime I've heard it, I've thought of Buells, but for sure I'll go with the group too !

I would have no problem wearing a patch with streetfighter on it, would just be a good conversation starter regarding Buells for anyone interested that would ask. Correct me if I'm wrong (been wrong many times before), but wouldn't Buell riders know what the term means ??

Bomber,
Nah, I've got a "butter knife" that does just fine.

CJM,
My only thoughts are when it's taken out of context. Like when pulled over in some small WIsc. township and the officer walks up to say he's gotten reports of some hooligans in the area and I have to say, nope, not me, never do that stuff, besides you never saw me.
I don't even want to talk about the patch identifiers. Hopefully Milwaukee next summer will be lively but sane.

Note to self: learn escape routes out of town, 'tosa always works once past 35th.

ps, Hi Jerry, didn't want to leave you out of the reply.

Suggestion:

Rather than "streetfighters,"how about something like Buell Riders? Unless that steps on the corportate licensing problem we discussed. Quite a few of Koz's designs would lend themselves to "Brew City Buell Riders."

Also question the use of New Berlin, WI. Nice touch but without mentioning Hal's, what is the purpose? Brew City sort of implies the greater Milwaukee area and I have no problem identifying with Hal's as they are very supportive of Buell. Plus, they have the world's attention in competitive circles.

Just some concepts to think about.

I drew up some sketches that I gave to Regae (sp?) at the September meeting. I incorporated Hal's into the motorcycle (full fairing XB9R). I think the name was Brew City Riders. I also had the year established and Milwaukee, WI on the bottom. I'd post a picture but I didn't keep a copy. Maybe I'll try to recreate this week and post.

Ah, I thought there might be a little corp sensitivity involved in the use of the Buell name or the B.R.A.G. initials. Still seems weird to me, but it's their interpretation of the rules and their lawyers are more numerous than mine (but mine's meaner).

Been writing up a report and learned that Hal's was the first Milwaukee dealer to carry Buells back in the late 1980's, then again were the first Milwaukee dealer to carry Buells when the H-D/Buell restructure took effect. At least with all that it might be nice to acknowledge them. Maybe incorporate a little Hal's logo in the corner if they don't mind. Lunchtime, bye.

Mike,

I think we can use the Buell name. I'll be in Milwaukee tomorrow (picking up my other S3:)). I'll stop by Hal's and check out the "official" BRAG handbook.

Mike and All, I still have no problem with "streetfighter", but I don't have any problems with any of the other terms or suggestions, they are ALL good !

But since we Buell Riders are supposed to be "different in every sense", I would like to see something different in the patch as opposed to just an "ordinary" rider !?? But hey, I'm new to the group, I'm not creative, nor am I a designer so I'll leave that to everyone else.

And I agree with listing Hal's, or Hal's in New Berlin,WI or even Milwaukee as opposed to just plain New Berlin, WI !

I personally love the term "Streetfighter". Buell has used the term for many years to describe it's bikes, and like mentioned before it really is associated only with Buell. I think it gives us a real new age/american/street rider type image. Different from the Harley image, but bold in it's own sense. It shows contrast to the foriegn bikes, kinda like the difference between NASCAR and Gran Prix racing. I don't hate the term "Buelligan", it's alright. I kinda dislike "riders" because it makes me think of a horseback rider or a stable club, and frankly it just sounds to laid back and weak, something I don't associate my V-twin with.

I will see if I can do some oval patches tonight. Actually any of the designs can be done in any shape. The design, colors, and wording are what is most important.

I will keep working at it. The more ideas you guys and girls give me, the better. Thanks for all your great suggestions. I know once we get through this our group will have one of the coolest logos.

Ken

P.S. If anyone is interested, my favorites (so far since I am still working on new logos) are #1 and #3 on page 1, and #2 on page 3 (but replace Buelligan with Streetfighter). The grey street would really stand out good on the back of a jacket.

As the host Dealership to our club I have no problem putting a refference to Hals on the patch, but chances are on a arm patch/letterhead/and other small decals it would be to small to distinguish. Also is that something clubs do? Does the KMC group reference Hals in their logo? Just curious.

The KMC "logo" is just a banner that goes over the HOG logo. Says "Kettle Moraine Chapter, Wisconsin". No mention of dealer or geographic location.

Speaking of KMC...I forgot we (Brew City) are supposed to submit a brief article about our chapter for the KMC newsletter. I'll get on that and send a copy via e-mail for everyones input.

Koz, I like the R,W&B theme. Fits with the American Sportbike! Keep up the good work.

Any name you pick has to be ok'ed by Buell or Harley. They are very picky & I would be willing to bet they wont allow streetfighters.

Streetfighters won't be the name of the group, it would just be on the patch, why would that be a problem ??

Ken,
Middle one on the 5th page, I like the brickyard-theme background.
Leave the road as is on it but make the road-text Buell-blue,
dump the text on the bricks,
add the rider to the upper right on the bricks,
reverse the rider and add it to the lower left on the bricks,
then see how it looks.

Just an idea, but don't send me a bill for the editing job.

I can try that tonight. I left the software and files at work. I was just goofing off, I don't know if the brick background would be posible on a patch, it might get too expensive.

you guys want help w/patches, gimme a shout . . .my wife, when running girl scout troops/events, found a great vendor who'd work with you on designs (suggesting ways to keep the basic design while making it more affordable), and had great pricing . . . . . .

I guess my pictures are causing to much traffic and I can't view my own site now. Hmmm Bummer! I will move them to a new website later today, or tonight. Until then, hope you all get a chance to look at the pics.
