That was a good show! Lots to look at and sit on...

Blake, I don't know how we missed each other! I was there from 12-3:30pm, and mostly around the Buell area. You there with Keith? I thought I saw his bike...

Angela, that was Forrest and me (he in the Buell hat, me - the hefty guy in the black shirt). It was so good meeting you - welcome to the family! Make sure you go to http://www.frappr.com/sporttwin and add yourself to our "map". If you'll PM me with your email address, I'll add you to our group officially (it's easier to plan event details if we're in touch via email).

Derek - good to finally meet you! Paul, Kevin, David, and Bart - as always, a real pleasure! Glad new Mom and Dad and baby Emma are doing well - don't let the lack of sleep get to you, Dago!

Micah - did you ever make it?

We will definitely plan our next ride soon - I'm gone next weekend as well, but have some time thereafter. We will need a "tune-up" ride for our January GTG with Erik and DaveS!

Navy - be careful and hurry home! We miss you , Patrick.

Hay guys; I was just putting myself on the map(okey that sounds funny) and noticed someone named JohnnyBlaster or could go by Got Buell?. Anyway; He lives in Bedford. Anyone know who he is? Seems we both live in the same area and we both have a CityX and a Blast. I never see him around (then again I never see anyone else either). Get out and RIDE!

Oh, Where is HWY's 4 and 51? Is that on the Dallas side? Only thing I know in dallas in Strokers, anything off 635, and Grapevine Mills Mall area. Also; On your GTG rides how do you ride? Do you ride 80-90 mph and take the corners like the pros? Do you do stupid show-off stuff like I see the crotchers doing in my area(wheelies, standing on the seat, etc). My bike is new and is still being broke in. This is only my second year riding and I have a whole 1200 miles experience total. Even though I use to dragrace my mustang this is way different. I haven't dropped it yet and I want to keep it that way.

Chris,

Yeah apparently like two barges passing in broad daylight. joker Did any of y'all remember to pick up the free T-shirt? Are any of you going to be brave enough to wear it? The international sign for "hello" as represented by an 8 year old little girl's hand? : ?

Hey, forgot to mention: I also saw Paul out in front before I went in,thanks for the discount ticket... Blake, where were you hiding? I know Chris,Dago, and I got shirts. And yes, I'll be brave enough to wear it... (Riding, under my jacket): )...
Angela, Hwys 4 and 51 are west and south. 4 starts in Grandview and ends up west of Jacksboro, the best parts are north of I-20... 51 starts west of Glen Rose and it also ends up somewhere up around Jacksboro...
Angela, we do wick it up but you don't see any wheelies and stoppies. We mainly like to go a bit faster than signs suggest and play in the corners, but like pros, not quite. You don't go any faster than you're comfortable with and we regroup at stop signs and intersections. We can do a ride and see if you feel comfortable riding with us, no problems...

Welcome girlscantwo! I wish I too could have met you at the show, but all in due time.

I'm a bit sleepy right now to say the least. It's sooooo worth it though!

Thanks for all of your kind words. It means a great deal to me.

Hopefully my XB will be back in my hands by the time of the next ride. I don't want to be without her for long.

I'll also be calling my local Yahama shop to put a deposit down on the 25th Aniversary Edition R6 this week! For some reason, I only just now noticed Buell's disclaimer: Inspired by the Track. Built for the Street.

I can be a bit hard-headed at times.

Dooh!

Oh okey; I've been out to glenrose(I go camping out that way). I'll try anything once; just let me know when we ride. I go out every weekend and ride to work almost daily. Today I'm gonna try to put 150 miles in. So; I am gonna start by heading to Eurosport demo days and then go from there. Anyone wanting to ride just let me know.

Chris, Yeah I made it, but on Sunday. I picked up my clutch cable on Saturday and spent most of the day cleaning it up from our little shortcut. She made it though. I ran her out to the show at Ft. Worth and she did good. I ran with a few hogs on the way there and parked with the other bikes. I walked almost the whole way round the convention center and looked at almost 200+ bikes outside. I had the ONLY BUELL there. Kinda cool feeling. I fell in love with the DL1000 Suzuki VSTROM. That will be my next purchase no doubt.

Dago, Thanks for the tickets brother! I will follow it up with an email about the back stretch shortly.

Welcome Girlscantwo! I just found this group myself. Looking forward to meeting you. These guys rock. No worries here.

Kevin and crew, I am ready to roll anytime, anyplace. Just hit me up on the email. I always need a good ride with friends.

Lastly, I took some good pics at the show. I will post them up on my album and send a link to the group if anyone is interested.

btw, Bart! I took your advice and went to the show alone. GOOD ADVICE! Thanks again.

Well, yesterday I went to that Eurosport Demo Days and it BLEW. Anyone else go to that? I only chalked up 50 miles on the bike (to much screwin around) so I STILL haven't hit 500, but if I take it to work and back I'll be good to go by the weekend. Does anyone ever go on the Harley runs? They are alot of fun and they are having one this saturday (goes from FTW HD in SW FTW and ends @ TX HD in Bedford with runs through Keller and Grapevine). All bikes are welcome; mainly meaning the Crotchers cause Buell is Always welcome with the HOGS. Anyway; I feel more at ease about riding with you guys now after your posts - THANKS! When I had the mustang I delt with ALOT of stupid, inmature, assholes. Besides; Everytime I go by myself my husband worries (he rides a HOG as do the other four people I know) and somtimes I don't get it that everyone is so shocked that the bike is mine not hubbies and that I ride it. I kinda got the same thing with drag racing the mustang but not as bad as now with the bike. MY POINT IS... Thanks for making me feel welcome and like one of the group.

I have two questions......

1. Does anyone know how to change out the hand grips without mutalating them so they can be reused?

2. I have the CityX; I hit 5th gear at like 45mph which means I am at 3500rpm at 60mph. Is that normal or because its new? I worry what rpm I will be at when I get to 70 or 80 mph(I dont want to blow it up)Is it okey and like that cause its new, or cause of the gears, or am I just being a girl and need to suck it up cause that the way it is?

THANKZ!

Hello there Angela. Weird that we haven't met, eh? I was wondering though, what color is your Blast? It seems like I may have seen one or two around when I was in my truck. I don't go out of my way to get noticed when I'm cagin'.

Anyhow, it sounds like you're still in the break-in period on the CityX. If that's the case, then yes, 60 mph at 3500 rpm is right where it should be. No worries about the top end, I've had mine up to 120 chasing these other hooligans and that was only like 6000 rpm. Fifth gear really likes to start at about 75 or 80. In any case, you don't really need to worry about blowing it up, ever. That's what the rev limiter is for!

So, I did eventually get to the show on Saturday. It was almost 4 by the time me and my GF got there. Cool show indeed. Micah's right about the Buell deficiency though. The only one I saw outside the entire time I was there was one of the tube Lightnings with purple wheels, and it was leaving right as I got there. And I got a double helping of T-shirts for having both VINs. Course, I didn't know the shirts were kinda gay. Oh well.

So hopefully we'll all meet up again soon. Be nice to talk to another Blast owner, someone who understands what it is to "only" have one cylinder.

My Blast is battle blue I only have 800 miles on it and now trying to sell it. My Lightening CityX is now 20 miles shy of the 500 mark. Thanks for the lowdown on the RPM thing. I was hopping that was it. I forgot about the rev limiter (I fixed it on the mustang ).
And yes I agree the shirts were disapointing but what do you expect for FREE but I got two anyway(one for the Blast and one for the CityX) (one for a night shirt and one for a dust rag).

WE NEED TO GTG SOON- LOVE TO RIDE!

About "the group"; Do you meet/ride monthly, quarterly, or whenever whoever gets togeather? Do you only gtg to ride or other stuff too like dinner, parties, non biker outings, etc? Do you talk back and forth much or just when a biker thing is on? IOW.... How much should I bug you; cause I go ALL the time and we always have room for more friends to hand with.

Thought you'd like to know some about me(no I'm not a psycho freak bitch; well sometimes maybe a bitch)
I am 5'7 and 145#
Brown hair and eyes
I drag race, ride my buells, go camping and like hockey (GO STARS) and minor baseball
I am a nurse
Husband rides an 1985 FXRS
And yes I'm spoiled
I am outgoing, and forward(hubby dont like that part)especially when told I cant or wont.

Riding was a big challange cause they think I have MS but I did it and haven't dropped it yet!

I am so glad I found fellow buellers!

Thanks for letting me bore you

Wow - so many questions, so little time!

You are gonna fit right in, Angela!

This DFW Bueller thing started slowly here on the BadWeB. David and Paul first posted barely over a year ago, then I joined in. Dago and I rode once, last December. Our claim to fame was a bitterly cold ride last January with Dave Stueve (DaveS) from Appleton, WI (our very favorite dealer and parts supplier - see pics here, on Jan. 23 http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/37/94565.html?1106660110). That was my first time to meet Cowtown and Kevin. Dave brought Erik Buell with him to dinner the next evening, and that's where several of us met for the first time (same post, pics further down).

It's been hard to get together very often, but there have only been a few of us "regulars" and now - A BUNCH MORE! Hopefully, this will change things for the better, and we can ride - and do other stuff - more often.

Once again, WELCOME!

Dago,

What a great looking little girl you have there. I can't quite tell though... wait... yes I think I can see it clearly... of course there it is... in fact is even seems that she is proudly displaying the fact that "See? I have Daddy wrapped around my little finger." c ontent

I'd be in exactly the same position, have no doubt. : )

Way to go Dad! Tell mom the same for me. : )

Thanks ALL!

But I'm a regular ole' hard @$$, Blake. Emma will get no slack from me. I mean it. I'm putting my foot down.

<I don't stand a chance do I?>

And just to let you all know...

Buell is covering ALL of the labor and parts required to get my bike back to 100%. Evidently, I had trashed the sprockets, cylinders, pistons, crank shaft, oil pump, and a few other random items. So it would have been rather expensive.

Michael at American Eagle HD Buell is the shiznat!
He even told me that I'd get it back by the first of next week. Can you believe that?

Dago, I"m glad to hear about the bike, that's good news, keep us informed... Emma's a purty baby, that'a for sure... (she must take after her ma): )
Angela, sorry you didn't have a good time at the demo days. I went up for a while saturday and signed up, visited for a bit then went to the IMS show downtown. I then went back up for the demo ride I had signed up for at 4:00. Did you get to demo any of the bikes??? There wasn't much else going on besides the demo rides... The regular deal, a few people talking bikes and bs'ing...

Could have been, I was across the street walking back from Whataburger and see it coming down Haskell and it turned into the Target right next to CityPlace building. All I could see was the Black bodywork and the XB style frame ( I ride a tuber so all the new bikes look the same to me.. Except the firebolt ) and the rider was wearing a Red what look to be Buell on the sleeve. He or She was Coming off the throttle pretty hard and dropping it into the turn so I couldn't see much else.

Do you know anyone that fits that profile?

I am finally broke in! I put in over two hundred miles this past weekend. Now I can get it up over 60mph and I must say it seems to run better. Makes up for the three hundred bucks I lost last weeknot to mention being sick all week(damn patients infected me). Now if I sell the blast it will all be okey!
(And that was a good week for me)
Moral of the story is; It's all about the ride.
Hope everyone has a GREAT WEEK!

Blake - If you can provide 7 or 8 Mb of space, I can put the audio/video for one lap up for everyone to see.

If the space is not available on BadWeB, I think DarkHorseMoto may have the space.
