Jackie, check out the quick board topic-custom buells that look like buells. Spiderman has a SICK S1. After that dirty burnout I'm going to let the refuse sit on there for at least a week, I know that's gonna kill you.NUTS

Man you make me nauseous. Such a fine lookin' well crafted machine deserves to be treated like a newborn babe. That burnout was a blatant disregard for my beliefs on how our bikes should be treated. I thought I was going to vomit LOL! By the way you got dust on mine so you need to come spend several hours getting her back to my specifications!
Looks like we are good tomorrow. Unless you bring the wind with you LOL.

Charlie,
Congrats to you and your son for an outstanding season. I personally like trophies better than money (unless it is a sizeable sum) since they have a way of triggering fond memories.
I wish you could make some of these rides with me and Jason! We just pick a route and go. Half the time we decide to change our route when we pull over for a pee depending on time. So far we always seem to end up finding good roads. It is nice being able to make friends with fellow riders instead of the "once a month during the warmer season" acquantances. The rest of our rag tag group seem to fall into this category since at least a few of them know about this site but don't post.

I think I am going to end up with the S1 I have my eyes on. It looks like everything is falling into place for it to happen. One way or the other I will know in 3 days!

Jason,
I just found the thread you were talking about. That is a fine looking beast! I think I am going to score extra bodywork for the one I get so I don't mess up the factory paint.
I am going to eventually go with the Stryper theme. Yellow and black sure makes a fine color combo! Add a chromed out engine compartment and billet doodads and the bike should be thoroughly blinged out. CHA CHING BABYYYYYY!!

O.K. Nuts I see how it is. I take you out in the woods, call you up a fine turkey and give you a bit of excitement and then you just run off to Florida and leave me hangin' LOL!
Seriously, I hope all is well with the family down there and hope you make it back soon since I enjoy watching your excitement more than harvesting an animal.
The temps are supposed to be nice for the next few days and my two riding compadres are out of town. What a load! Somebody better come home soon so we can enjoy the last bit of the riding season before it is just a memory. I just did a MAJOR cleaning and need to go riding before we hook up so I can get some smashed bugs on the fairing. Got to try and fit in with you dirty bike guys LOL!!

More devastation than I expected down here. I can actually see into the neighbors yards now. That has never been possible. All is as well as can be expected. I just finished taking down the shutters in the 90 degree heat! Found a real nice white frog I'll get some pics of. Jackie, enjoy the weather and roads while they last. Charlie, I hate to bag on you, but atleast I'm not the only one without my bike. See you all real soon. NUTS

I like them flat and straight. That way I can keep up with you guys LOL!
Charlie you should have been with us the other day. We had a couple young gals yelling and honking the horn at us. Made me feel like a spry young fella again instead of a middle aged, dumpy bald man. Of course since Jason took the rear pegs off his bike I would have been forced to take the pretty young lasses one at a time for a joy ride (poor me). Man if I could just have Jasons' head of hair combined with my stunning good looks I might have a chance.
Lets try to get one more in before the cold weather sets in for the season. I'll even roll out of bed before the afternoon for the occassion!
Ya'll have fun down south and have safe journeys back home.
PS, don't tell my wife we had chickies yellin' at us or I might get grounded.

Charlie,
They are nice indeed. I am giving up on my search for a Tuber until the Spring due to several deals falling through.
Who knows I might just start a mutant Buell project instead. That would definately give me something to do over the Winter.
When are you coming back in? The weather is supposed to hold through the middle of next week so maybe we can work in a ride.

Jackie,
Won't be back until about the 14th, by then it will probily be snowing.
Went out to get on the bike this afternoon and there was a squirrel perched on my seat, another 2 in the tree right next to it. I'm glad he had a nut instead of sampling my leather seat( will keep it in the garage from here on out). Took a ride over to Sullivans Island today, real pretty place on a nice day ( wouldn't want to be there during a hurricane). That is where they used to bring the slaves to when arriveing from Africa, alot of history around here........Charlie

Charlie,
Jason came close to bagging his first one the other day. He ran over it on his bike but didn't quite finish it off HAHAHA!! It just barely escaped my wrath before making it to the side of the road.
My seat finally came in and I managed to put about 75 miles on it today (bout got killed by a deer on the Parkway, but that is a different story). It doesn't feel as good as the original but then again maybe I just need to get used to it. It feels like it forces you into the airbox cover instead of having a "pocket" to sit in.
If we are ever going to get to ride together it looks like it will be on snowmobiles LOL. I could always hook an innertube up to the ATV and tow you behind. We'll make some killer ramps to keep it interesting for ya.
Anyways, have fun down there and if you happen to run across any Pigmy Rattlers that are of the red variety {Hyde Co. and surrounding areas)let me know so I can race down and see them for myself.

They are only about 2ft at the most when full grown with a rattle so small it can only be heard from a foot or so. I appreciate the offer but they are a protected species so its more of a look but don't touch type of proposition. If you get busted molesting them it is big time trouble.
They are really neat animals that I have worked with and bred in the past (from legally obtained adults of course). They usually are not deadly but the bite causes excruciating pain from what I hear. I always use handling equipment to keep myself out of harms way.
Are the reptiles still on the move down there?

I'm trying to make it back there. The tricky part is keeping my truck and the Lightning. It's a day to day thing right now. I'm considering putting the bike up for sale and buying something cheaper in the spring. Luckily I'm upside down on the loan and there probably isn't anyone who wants to pay $8500 for a bike with 6000 miles on it. We'll have to see. You fellas keep warm up there. The "cool" front here has a low of 71 degrees. I'v got to get back north! NUTS

I think I'm going to try to head home next week for a few days. I need to winterize my bike and set the house in order while I'm gone. Hopefully I'll be back before the new year for good. I'm planning to sneak a day or two in the woods into the plans. Maybe a nice little ride should the weather cooperate. My wife says you're expecting 28 degrees tonight. I'll be spending this cold front in the yard painting the fence, taking a break every hour to keep the body temp. below 100! These tropic winters are killers. We spent last monday morning removing a tree from the roof of a motorcycle dealer so I'm working on a deal for some tires at cost so I'll let you fellas know if anything comes through. Is it Avons we all want or what? I'm partial to those grippy Michelins I've got. If I get tires ultra cheap can I sacrifice mileage? Of course I can! NUTS

Be careful young skywalker, you want tires that you can control after they break lose. Not so sticky that when they let go you have no control.
Plus if I had tires that were real sticky I might go faster and scare myself, then I couldn't work on staying smooth. There is compromise in everything you do, stay balanced...Charlie

Yes O-B Clone. The front Michelin is looking brand new and a mismatched combo would eat me alive inside. Would the Sport touring rear be a better option? Maybe I can get a whole set and flip the front over to Jackie for a guided turkey hunt. So it looks like I owe him a tire now does it. I'll contact the guy tomorrow and see what kind of numbers he lays on me. This guy is a dealer for MZ; maybe he'll have a leftover 650cc supermoto real cheap. Can you guys see me backin that thing in up Bent Mountain. That'd be a way to really abuse tires! NUTS

You mean after I ragged him ( Jackie) on that front tire and he still hasn't gotten one? Shame on you Jackie, you need closer supervision. Good tires come before "chrome".
Nut's, If your going with the Avon's, you might want the "SP" instead of the "ST". The "ST" works good on the longer wheel base, but I think the "SP" would be better for the XB. I have both in that order and it works good for me.
And beware of the "DARK SIDE" of the mtn.(black ice ya know) young Skywalker....O-B Clone

Fellas, I might be heading home today or tomorrow. I'll be there long enough to grab the dog. If the weather is good I'll have to stretch it longer to get a ride in as well as a hunt, who knows. It was about 70 degrees here this morning and my Mother was asking me to start a fire in the fireplace!LOL The heat warps your brains down here. Jackie you'll be able to tell when I'm near: the wind will pick up and the squirrels will disappear. Maybe I'm saving my mojo for larger game. Apparently larger than turkey too! I'll be well aware of the "DARK SLIDE" O-B Clone. NUTS

Hey fellas,
Got a nice (but lonely) ride in today. Cruised the Parkway up to Bent Mountain and then took our little backroad to Christiansburg. Since I was by myself I decided to cut it short and took 81 back in. I ran into a small stretch where the road was wet and got some mud on my lower fairing and the black plastics in the rear. I had to stop at a gas station and get some wet papertowels to wipe it off before getting on 81 LOL.
Went bow hunting yesterday and was absolutely COVERED in squirrels. Now that the leaves are off the trees you can hear them crunching around and makes them easy to find. Called in a small flock of turkey but couldn't get a humane shot with the bow so I let them walk. They never even knew I was there.
Next Saturday rifle opens and plans are already in place to hopefully fill the freezer! One of you guys give me a call when you get back so we can hook up, hit the woods and then have us a backstrap BBQ.
Nuts,
We HAVE to get a few more squirrel so I can make you the casserole before the New Year.
