Jackie,
Hope your feeling better, was it the flu??? Anyway, glad you are up and moving again.
If you are seriously looking for a tuber, I'm thinking strongly about putting mine on the market soon. It has all the good stuff and alot of spares.
You guy's be careful and don't shoot one another....Charlie

Good to hear from ya Charlie, with all this rain you may have to skitter back here sooner just to tame that lawn. The cyclone is worth it especially with those dual discs up front.Good luck this weekend "doin it in the dirt er mud" NUTS

Charlie,
Yep my daughter gave me the flu which she had picked up from a schoolmate. Thanfully I think the worst part is over.
I am VERY serious about getting another Buell. If you do decide to sell the Tuber try to give me a little warnining. I would be selling my ATV to fund the acquisition. Right now I have it up for trade and have had some very fair offers but nothing has seemed to be my dream machine yet. If you get a chance to send some photos of it I would appreciate it. Even if you don't sell it I'd still like to see your other steed.
The Buell bug has definately bitten! This is the first time I have owned a particular brand that has made me want another.

Nuts,
Jason emailed me about going for a cruise. Maybe we can set it up for sometime next week if it ever dries up.

Charlie,
You missed a fine day in the woods. Nuts and I decided to go even though the wind was wailing 20 mph or so. We got to the club around 4:30pm and just walked not expecting to see much because of the wind. Within 10 minutes we spotted a fat Racoon cruising down the ridge so we both stopped to enjoy his antics as he worked his way through the woods. Got to the top of the ridge and squirrels started barking all around us. Unfortunately we couldn't pinpoint them because of the tornado that was going on all around us so we just sat there and talked hunting and bikes. Working our way down the ridge we jumped up a gobbler but let him fly without pursuit since the season hasn't opened yet.
After a friendly snuff break we went to the bottom of the mountain and decided to wait it out. As we set there two young bucks cruised by casually feeding within 40 yards of us. We sat tight as they faded off in the distance and then discussed how marvelous nature can be.
Finally spotted several squirrels running a tree and managed to pop one before they scattered.
Wrapped the evening up by checking out an open area looking for game tracks.
Not a very productive evening as far as harvesting game but the kind of evening memories are made of. Good company, good conversation and the great outdoors.
Oh well, maybe next time LOL!

Glad you guy's had a good time in the woods and nobody got shot, except the squirrel.
We just got back from the track (2:15 am). Finished 1st in the heat race, but got second in the main. That puts us 2nd for the year in that class ( missed 1st by about 6 pts) maybe next year. Got another race next Sat.(not a pts. race), but will be a big one ($5000 purse for the pro class) will be alot of pro riders there, gonna be real exciting to watch. Be back in VA the following week...........Charlie

Hey it's not raining! I'm gonna hop on the Lightning and see if I can dodge some wet leaves. Give em H_LL this week Charlie, I can't wait to hear the outcome.
Jackie, I told my Dad if it was season that first 4 point would've been down. I wouldn't have even waited for the second (6 point). I'll catch all later. NUTS

Got a nice little ride in Sunday. Keith took fourth on Sunday at Summit Point. There's pics on another page of the bike and his custom exhaust. Jackie, the wind has died down. Let's get back in the woods. I'll be calling the Pawn shops looking for that Ruger. New is between $170 and $215. I'll be off everyday except Friday. Looks like more rain later in the week though. Alright take care.
Charlie, hope all goes well for ya this week, I'll be seeing ya later. NUTS

Nuts,
See if you can find a Savage or Martin. They are a bit cheaper and just as accurate. They are tube fed instead of magazine but still a decent little gun. Remington also makes a nice 22 but I think it retails for about the same as the 10/22.
The old lady has me painting the kitchen and dining room so maybe we can hit it on Thursday if that works for you. If so give me a call tomorrow night so I can plan on it.

The only chance those squirrels have is the wind and that has died too. With all this rain the bike has been relegated to the basement away from prying eyes. Charlie I drove by your house yesterday, all looks well and the grass hasn't overrun yet. Talk to you later. NUTS

I'm well acquainted with lawn tractors. Used to mow my folks acre with one. They didn't take to my ARTISTIC approach though. That didn't keep them from telling me to stop, just gave them something to complain about.

Jackie, my brother called me today and said he is coming up here for the 6 November. That is muzzleloader season EAST of the ridge. So I have to start scouting public lands out that way. Any ideas? NUTS

Nuts,
Tons o' public land around Montvale heading towards Bedford. I don't get out that way much myself since I have areas closer which typically produce what I'm hunting.
Check on your map to see all of the National Forest out that way. You will be surprised. Just be careful since much of it either borders BRP land or is accessed through it. Be very careful as fines and penalties for infringing on these boundaries are HARSH!!
I'll pick you up Thursday morning after I drop the youngsters off at school (around 8:00 a.m.)

I'm not going to be able to make it tomorrow. My wife got called out of town tonight through Friday for work and has left me to finish painting and wall paper before we get the new carpet and hardwood.
If you do decide to go try the place I told you about (WR). You won't be disappointed.
I apologize for having to bail but need to get this done before the weekend. Cindy will be back on Friday night so if you want to try for Saturday again it shouldn't be a problem.

3:00 a.m. and just got done with the dining room. I have to put one more coat on in the kitchen plus trim and then call it a night. I'll probably just be going to sleep right when you are getting up!
I wish you luck tomorrow and am looking forward to getting out this weekend to unwind after this ordeal. HOME IMPROVEMENT SUCKS!!

O.K. Charlie, here's the lowdown on the fun you missed out on today. I figured if you couldn't be here at least we could tell you about it and rub it in LOL!
Jason and I hooked up around 12:00 and hit Bent Mountain. I almost got hammered by a white pickup going up because he split the lane as soon as Jason passed him. That kinda took my nerve so I just cruised up the rest of the way. We rode into a little town called Check and took some side route over to Christiansburg. Followed 460 into Blacksburg and then decided to hit 42 over to New Castle (I believe we broke the sound barrier at least three times on this road). We then took 311 back into town. This route has good potential for a club ride with a little something for everybody.
We then decided to hit the woods again and test out Jasons' new 10/22. We bagged 4 but were only able to find two (my fault entirely) which really bothers me. I took my eyes off where they fell and got sidetracked by another one as we were going to retrieve them. Oh well, I guess the predators will have a free meal tonight.
I am still wanting to have a look at that Cyclone when you get back so maybe the three of us can hook up sometime before or after this weekends ride and check it out whilst shooting the bull.
Have a safe trip back in and see you Sunday.
Jackie

Jackie, I'm going to make the camera a necessity for all further rides. There's just no reason not to throw it in the tankbag. I'm torn between hitting the woods or going for a ride today. The wind is whipping again and that is bad for trees and equally bad for triple digit speeds on the Lightning. I've noticed my rear tire is down past the wear bars in the middle, and I was contemplating getting that home tire changer at Harbor Freight. Just can't see spending $25+ for mounting.

Charlie, It looks like we are going to have to lead the ride this weekend. Seth sold his bike $8000! Zack has an anniversary and now I have the directions to Dennis' house. We are supposed to meet at 1:00 and be down to the lake by 2:00. Is there a particularly interesting way down there? Sidenote, we'll have to ride 42 soon because it was fantastic yesterday. A morning ride and an afternoon squirrel hunt is in order. Alright I'm off fellas. NUTS

Jackie, I just got back from the woods. Squirrels seen=1 squirrels killed=zero
I couldn't get up on top of where they were feeding on the ridge without spooking them. Anyways I went to the WMA close by and it was 7 miles from the turnoff on 311. Pretty close. That's all for now folks. NUTS

Nut's & Jackie,
I'm back in town, got in this evening. Why are the leaves not changing yet. They have already started in NC.
You guy's missed one h3ll of a race sat.nite.
We won our heat and the main in our class. The Pro class had 4 heats & 2 semi's,and they started 18 bikes (3 rows of 6) in the final (20 laps) after 10 laps you could have stepped from one bike to another without touching the ground(that close) it was an awsome race.
Let's ride some this week, looks like it might rain near the weekend...........Charlie

Charlie,
Welcome home and congrats on the success at the track!!
Do you by chance have a torque wrench over at your place that reads in inch pounds? I am getting ready to replace the bolts on my primary and cam cover and want to make sure I do it right instead of just getting them snug. I have replaced all of the ones with non critical torque values and want to wrap it up before this weekends get together. If you have some free time in the evening I would happily purchase you the beverage of your choice if you can walk me through the process.
Side note, I have a buyer for the ATV. Are you still interested in parting with your Cyclone? I don't want to sell it if I don't have a bike lined up. My wife is spending money left and right doing home improvements and I don't want her to get any ideas with the money while waiting for something to come along LOL!

I'll be changing the oil today boys because I lost track of how much I've been using. It has been about 1500 miles since the last change and I'll just start from scratch and keep an eye on it more often. It used at least 1/2 qt since the change and that just seems like a lot. Also need to start shopping for a rear tire. I'm contemplating using a sport-touring tire so I can keep some tread in the center. I am wary of using different brands on the front and rear. The front Michelin is in great shape and should go at least another 5000. Jackie if Charlie doesn't have the wrench you're looking for I saw one at Harbor Freight on Melrose and Peters Creek for about $10 I think. Charlie does Frank at W&W cut deals on tires and or change them for a reasonable fee? I'm up for a ride any day until about 4:00. I'm working nights from 5-9.NUTS

Jackie,
I have a good one that reads "newton meters" which is also in the manuel along with the inch pds.(80-100 in.pds.= 9-12 nm). Only thing is I don't lend it out,but you are more than welcome to come over here and use it.Do you have a manuel,if not I do. There is a sequence for tightning both covers in the manuel.Let me know....Charlie

Nut's,

The guy from W&W is Ralph and Im sure he will sell it to you as cheap as he can. The one's on my Firebolt are the sport ones. The one's on the Cyclone are the Sport/Tour,I like them both. If you want to go and check with him, let me know and I'll go with you, might help.........Charlie

I know Jackie is itching to see that Cyclone maybe I'll bring him over one morning. He usually gets breakfast around noon.
