Dyna, When the newsletter comes out, it is given to Eva to take care of mailings and distributuon at the shop. If you look in the box of HOG newsletters on the counter, our BRAG mag is usually stuck in the back. Sorry you haven't seen it - I'm very proud of it. My article on the Buell bicycle came out in the newsletter before it was in FUELL. Anyhoo...... Next Saturday, September 7th is Uke's Open House (I94 shop) from 10:00-5:00. THERE WILL BE XB DEMO RIDES!!!!!!! BRAG members are strongly encouraged to be there and possibly lead the demo rides. Food, music, blah, blah, blah.....AND XB DEMOS!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! | ||

Don, if they arent being mailed out, then whats happening to them? I am in the system, I am a local HOG member as well as a national brag member. Have bought 2 Buells from them, you would think I would be getting it in the mail. As far as open house goes, gotta work. | ||

Hey All, I don't know if my input would be welcome on the advertising issue, but I bought my Buell at Uke's and it was just luck that Joe happened to be there at the time I was getting a T-shirt and told me about the BRAG group. Otherwise, I would have known nothing about it. I've been to one meeting, and will say that it's a great group of people, really nice and friendly. I've never seen a newsletter, or any type literature about the group at all until these postings. Seems the best way to get word out would be to new Buell owners' if that is the type of people you want in the club. Especially new owners would like to meet other Buell owners to talk to and ride with. Would be nice if when you get a Buell from Ukes that they have some type of info to give you regarding BRAG to give you a chance to get into the group ??? And while there may be communication between the present members, this posting may be a better way for communication with other Buell owners. But once again, how will this site address get to new owner's ??? I got the address from the mailing that Joe sent, but he stated he sent it to those whose e-mail addresses he had, but that doesn't address how to get it to others ! So I hope this doesn't offend anyone. I would like to get to know other Bueller's, as it is I ride with mostly Sportster riders. I know I should get to more meetings, and hope to do so. Hmmm, thats 2 of us now that have never seen nor heard of this "newsletter". We both bought our bikes at Ukes & yet we seem to be excluded, very interesting. I wonder if its some type of conspiracy? Maybe everyone hates us?  | ||

While you guys might be "hateworthy", I can guaranty that we (as in the Uke's BRAG Club members) DO NOT exclude ANYONE!!! We do not have the mailing addresses of all the Buell related contacts in the Uke's computer. That info belongs to the dealer. We do not send out the mailings. That is done by the dealer. We don't know who is "shopping" for Buells. Only the dealer sees these people. See a pattern? Now, I certainly don't want to start any dealer bashing here - especially since I believe Uke's is the BEST Buell dealer around - but they aren't as gung-ho in their support of our club...yet. They will be. It will take time and effort to show them that BRAG is not that different from HOG in the early days. Our membership is barely more than a dozen - that just doesn't have the weight to throw around like a HOG chapter with numbers in the hundreds. We're growing, and they will be there for us. Don't think anyone is trying to exclude you or anyone else - it's just a simple lack of communication. Understand that we (all of us) lead busy lives, and our BRAG Club can't always be the on the front burner. On a related note, several months ago Keith said he would include a free membership to our local club with the purchase of a Buell, but I don't know if that ever came to pass. Hmmm? | ||

I see a pattern alright. Now you just have to convince someone to correct this ill fated pattern. And only a dozen members? I think we had 10 or 12 people at the very first meeting last year. I would have hoped membership would have grown a little more than that. Must be that lack of communication deal again. Ok, who's ass do I have to kick in order to get this ball moving & start getting people involved? | ||

Hey Der, Anybody willing to help out at the Open House will be greatly appreciated. In addition to the usual affair, Eva told me they will need Ride leaders for the XB Demos. Could Be cool. I do have to work that day, but I will be there for the the start and leaving by 11:00 so I can make it to work by noon. (hopefully the ISP won't take objection to me speeding like they did this weekend) | ||

Hi Don and All, In no way in my posting did I suggest that this club excludes anyone, I believe if you read it again you'll see I suggested exactly what you are in your posting. That there is no advertising (or support) from Uke's being given by THEM to people purchasing new Buells, which makes it up to this point a word of mouth club, which is okay if that's what you want. It appears to be a good club, with good membership, so I think it would be in the interest of anyone purchasing a new Buell to get the info about the club at the time of purchase, and also in the club's interest in order to grow. HOG would not be what it is without the full support of the Harley dealers in it's day, and that's going to be true of the BRAG club also, in my opinion. Later, CJM P.S. Don, please don't lose momentum on that newsletter. It is by far ahead of any others I've seen. I'll have a pow wow with Eva about distribution. (How does HOG do it?) Everyone, Don will take submissions from everybody. If any of y'all want to put together a story about a ride, recent tech work, whatever; mail it to Don. Birthdays, and other events are also accepted and welcome. So far as the three letter name thing... Dyna, you'll need to change you name to Grg or Geg for starters. The only other small thing is shaving your head... | ||

Ok, Kettle Moraine area is big time fun on a bike. Once you go through and learn where all the gravel and twigs are, a good Buell flogging will follow. I ground the life out of my pegs all day long. I was on the way back from a party in Watertown, and decided not to take the highway. Lucky me. | ||

HOG maintains their own list of all members. On it you will find anniversarys, b-days, phone #'s, addresses, e-mails, etc. You should be able to get a similar list from Eva of all the Buell owners, or those that have bought Buell parts. Chris, why do you keep insisting on the fact that "NEW Buell owners would be interested in the club" Why would it be advantageous to exclude the owners of older models. The new ones are ez to get, simply give them the paperwork when they pick up the bike. Its the people that have owned the bikes for a while, sometimes many years, that you should be going after. These are true Buell nutz & can offer a lot of help & expertise. | ||
