FYI: I went to Cox HD in Asheboro, NC today. They just received the HD Street Rod. Its yellow. I sat on it with someone holding it vertical, and it feels much like a Buell XB12S since it has rear-ward foot pegs and a short handle bar. Out the door is $17,700.00 much higher than a Buell. The Buell will smoke it in a 1/4 mile. But it still looks really good. You guys should go check it out.

John,

I'll probably get to Michael's around 10:30. If you want to meet me earlier I'll be leaving from Calvary Chapel at 1600 Center street in Apex around 10am.

Gramps - It will be good to see you again.

Looks like this will be the first time for several people including myself. Just so we can all get lost together, here is the route I am planning on taking. I can't guarantee that it's the shortest, but I do know that it is a pretty nice ride, and it should get us there.

Take 64 west across Jordan lake. After you cross the lake, you will come to an intersection with a filling station. Turn right on that road, I don't remember it's name. The road has a couple of nice twists and is about 4 miles long. It dead ends at 15-501. Turn right and drive north on 15-501 until you come to Manns Chapel road.

I'm going to leave Raleigh a little before 10.

Had a good time at Michaels this morning. Had breakfast with U4euh and his wife. My two kids didn't seem to bother them too much, which is impressive. Looking forward to doing it again!

Jim- had a great time at breakfast! Kids did not bother us a bit. Sorry you couldn't ride with us. Got home about 5:30-6:00 and still trying to warm up.

Gramps- what happened, we turned into the station and you were gone?

I road to Cox's HD this afternoon and test rode the new 2006 HD Street Rod. Since the bike was new, I didn't get into the throttle and kept it under 50 mph and 3000rpm's. The bike handles better than the V-ROD but is heavy. It handled and felt just like my 2001 SuperGlide Sport. I could tell that she wanted to go. The bike has a lot of power and has been geared up. At 50mph, the tack was on 3000rpm's in 5th gear. The V-ROD runs at about 4000rpm's at 50mph. So the new Street Rod should be a long legged bike with a lot of top end speed. I was pretty impressed and will probably buy one later on this year or next.

Pang,

We closed on the same date? Too weird. We're no longer in Cary, we're down in Fuquay now. Are you going to make it to Michael's this Sunday?

Wow...F*ckin-Vagina....

We went from the east side to the north side, near Falls and 540.
Our close date changed 6 times...we finally did it on the 21st. How many takes was yours?

No can do on Michaels this weekend- too much work to do here...we bought a foreclosure tri-level, and the upper two floors are fine, but the lower level was unfinished. Gots a bathroom, 350 sq. ft. of floor tile, and some carpet to install. Fun stuff.

** Daytona 200 weekend, March 12-13 **

If there is interest, I would like to invite ya'll to come to the Sandhills for a cookout, watch the 200, and ride in the local twisties around Uwharrie forest. There are really some great roads in Montgomery, Richmond, Anson, Stanley, Moore, and surrounding counties. Lots of curves and elevation changes. I'm thinking folks could come Sat. mid-morning, eat and watch the race which starts at 2:00. Ride afterward and/or stay the night and ride most of Sunday. My house is in downtown Southern Pines and could bunk several people, just don't expect luxury accommodations. It would be a great time based on my experience with the Badwebbers I've met so far. Let me know of you're interested. Mike.

Well, I went to Raleigh to check out some homes last weekend and came away pretty excited (much cheaper than DC). Considering a move in about a year but really have no idea where to live...(is Chapel Hill or Lake Jackson too far away to commute/Traffic in the area). Could someone with good knowledge of the RTP area send me an email at hpohop2@cox.net, I'd like to pick your brain.

Our closing went right the first time. It was actually easier than I thought it would be, just a lot of stuff to sign.

I just got a phone call from the guys at Ray Price. They want to do a meet and greet for Buell riders and riders of other sport bikes to show that they're serious about the Buell market and to generate interest for starting a BRAG club. The event will take place on September 30th from 6pm-7pm. They'll provide pizza and drinks. They asked that if you plan on attending that you RSVP with either Mike Miller (parts), Larry Simpson (sales), or Eric Wagner (sales manager).

These two links are for Mike M, they relate to the fuel pump issue. I just needed a place to dump them for now.
