So how was Thursday's meeting,
how many were there,
anything good happen,
any hints or previews of what a certain someone alluded to recently,
stuff like that?
Things happen in threes, or so I've been told.

Thursday's meeting was good, but not a great turnout. We have two new members. Dora(Builiegirl here on Badweb), and Glen, who ride an XB9R.

Altogether, there were 5 attending the meeting. Just talked about up and coming rides. I'll have to look at my calendar, and post some dates of rides and such.

Alluded? If you're talking about Hals having a Uly, nope, they don't have any, and aren't pleased about it. They've been getting multiple requests daily about the bike.

Dora and I went on the Dundee ride yesterday. What a Beeeeeee-Utiful day to ride. We rode all over the norther Kettle. Very nice ride, but a bit too much gravel for comfort.

We did stop at a Bar in Dundee, Bills hideout or something like that.Ton of Alien stuff in there, it was funny! : )

Nobody from any of the other Brag groups were at Dundee though

I was alluding to the second barrel that Buell is possibly going to unload soon. Wasn't sure if it was the luggage or a new model or maybe new clothing or something.

We were up in Random Lake on Sunday at an Open House we were helping at. Lots of drive-by traffic up there and quite a few bikes rode past as well.

Once again I'll be trying to hit Culver's tomorrow evening. Rode the M2 in today, the S2's carb situation has me concerned so it's parked for a bit.

I think I've about wore out my welcome at a different shop up this way, too much time tire kicking and not close enough between my perception and their perception of what a fair price is on a bike that even they said was too old to have been taken in on trade. Will probably be wholesaled off for less than I would have given them for it, unless it's already done gone to some Sturgis-bound-can't-wait-no-longer buyer, haven't checked in a week or two on it.

Oh well, lunch is over, time to go back to other stuff.

Ron from Brew City, got this email forwarded to him, originating from Erik himself : )

"Lets get some Buells there! We don't want it to look like we stacked the deck, but let's do it anyway! Best would be to get young Buell owners to show up, especially ones that don't work here."

It was good to see you guys last night. A fairly wide variety of bikes were there. And I didn't know there were that many 'busas in all of Milwaukee, seemed like two out of three bikes pulling in were 'busas for awhile there.

On the way home I noticed my tail/brake light didn't seem to be working. Pulled into a store parking lot and found the little LED strip below the license plate was working, but the main tail light and brake light wasn't. I removed the seat and checked the wire connections and didn't find anything wrong, so I put the seat back on and headed for the freeway. Figured since the LED's were on I'd just play like a chopper and head home. Got home, pulled the seat, and started checking fuses, then the tail and brake light started working again. Must have just been dirty contacts. But this morning they were'nt working again and pulling the fuses didn't help, so I'm in the pickup gas hog today. Oh well.

In any case it was a nice time down there. One of these days I'll have to make it down to the drag strip too.

It was good to see you and Bill also. *MUCH* better Buell turnout than last week! When Hals does get a Uly in, I'm gonna see if they'll let me take it to a TWT, throw a few of Caralee's business cards on it and see what kind of interest it peeks : )

I'll swing by Suburban occasionally to see if and when they get one, unless they kick me off the property. All I've been doing there lately is trying to get them to accept a trade-in at a bit closer price difference and also buying a few small parts in their parts department. I'll swing thru on Friday afternoon on the way to West Bend and see if I can get a Ulysses delivery date out of them.

Talking about sportscars last night got me thinking again, so does anyone know anything about these?
http://www.sandsmuseum.com/cars/elise/pictures/pictlaautoshow/bluefrontaa.jpg
(Apart from the fact that it's way out of my current price range.)

Been kicking around the idea of getting something older, or a hot rod, or a boat, or some other project, but this is today's daydream.

ps, I just called Suburban. Their first Ulysses is scheduled to ship to them around the end of the month and be on the floor the first or second week of September. (I can wait until May for a test ride.)

FYI!!!

I just got an email from the torque center. They are having a sale on all cycle parts and accesories 25% off Thursday thru Saturday (this includes tires). Sunday they will have all sportbike riding gear 25% off.

I purchased my last set of tires there. They mounted them in one day and did a great job for me.

Mike, that pic reminded me of the Fiero kit cars. I played with the idea(had an '85 fiero GT) of doing this.

Interesting. I finally sold off the Bugatti kitcar last fall, sort of decided against going the kitcar route again. Thinking of either an original body hotrod or a factory sportscar. But I'll probably just end up building a cedar strip canoe instead. Gotta have something to tinker with in the background.

Anybody going to the Speed Shop open house on the 27th?

I have some business (FF draft) at 2:20, but was thinking about coming over early, closing my local bank accounts and stopping by Hal's for a bit.

I have been riding to work lately, gas prices suck! Not a great ride, all freeway on the way to work, but when time allows I take the back way home. Nice little unwinding ride.........

P.S. - Stopped by the house today and the inside is painted!! Just need flooring, cabinets, finish plumbing and electrical, a driveway, yard.............

Steve & Mike...Great to see you at TWT. Gosh, I couldn't get over how many bikes were there. Lots of eye candy, perhaps next week I will make the rounds and check them out.

Mike...My suggestion would be to build the cedar strip canoe. First you get the satisfaction of working with wood and getting that mirror like finish. Then you get the pleasure of selling it at a healthy profit.

Steve I just sold a 85 Fiero GT that was to be for my now 16 yr old. He wanted a Jeep so I got a 90 Wrangler 4 cyl 5 speed for him. Back to the Fiero, the guy I sold it to has 3 red Fieros, 84 with 4 cyl, my old 85 red GT, and a 84 he did the V-8 kit and leather interior. The annual Fiero show is in Sept in Oakbrook, Illinois, lots of nice Fieros, been there.

Anyone happen to have a front end lift/stand that will work on my S3? I need to change the wheel bearings, and would rather not leave the bike hanging on the crane at work if I dont' have to : )

i went to Rockerbox on my XB, and was there for most of the day. saw five Buells total : ( very poor turnout for Buells there. seems every Ducati in the region showed up though. lots of cool old vintage Japanese bikes.

went to Dana's bike buildoff thing in Racine, and saw many many more Buells there than Rockerbox.

trying to head to TWT tomorrow, a little dependent on work though....

Sorry Kinger, woring on the S3 tonight, and good thing I did.
Wellll.... Good thing I pulled things apart. The rear wheel sprocket side outer bearing was SHOT. Looks like it didn't spin in the bore either WHOOOPIE!!!

Kinda screwed up a tranny seal doin' the dyno drag thingy.

The 5th gear bearing feels okay. That sprocket was on there good. Needed the impact wrench to get the nut off(yea MikeJ, I know, it's left handed : ) ).

Now to pull the tranny out...

That sucks about the bike. Good luck getting it back together.

It was a last minute decision tonight anyway. Sara is working and Grace is at Grandma & Grandpa's, so I actually had a free night!!!!

There weren't a lot of people there. A big group pulled out right after I got there (8:20-8:30). Might have been Buelligirl. There was and XB_S in the group. Hung around until about 9 and then headed home.

Just got an email from Caralee. Who wants to do a trackday at Blackhawk for $95. With instruction from Dan Bilanski?

Not sure WHO is putting this on, Blackhawk only lists a Porsche Club autocross event for that day.

So who's interested? For $95 with expert instruction on everything from riding style, to suspension adjustment(Ask Kinger if Dan knows what he's doing with suspension settings : ) ). It's a friggin' DEAL!

Man I wish I could go. Only have 2 vacation days left for the year. With the holidays and moving, I can't take the day off.

On another note; we found out monday that a friend of ours in NC was in a bad boating/skiing accident. She broke 2 vertebrate, ankle, heal, wrist, jaw, knocked out all of her teeth. So any good vibes that can be sent out would be greatly appreciated. She made it through the first three surgeries, heel, wrist, and ankle, yesterday. She is still stable but in ICU. Sara is going to fly down next week, after she is transferred to Chapel Hill for the rest of her surgeries. She will have a long road to recovery!

Sorry to rain on the good news. I needed to get that out. It has been a long week. Thanks

Just got another email from Caralee in response to WHO is putting on this track day.

"Buell is sponsoring the event put on by Blackhawk. I just got the e-mail, turns out it’s Wednesday Sept. 14th. And it’s $99 for people aboard a “Buell” They are still in the works trying to negotiate $99 for riding other makes instead of the usuall $165. The $99 will get you track day access to the track, a DVD of you riding, and lunch. Buell will be there handing out literature, knee pucks and t-shirts. Dan Bilanski will be there (though Hal’s) to help and give pointers to you guys if you want it. Registration and sign up is to be handled through Blackhawk Farm. What they’re trying to do is get 6 people from 5 Buell dealerships for a maximum of 30 Buell riders eligible for the discounted rate of $99."

Kinger, sure ya can't make it? Sounds like some SERIOUS fun!

Kinger, Your friend will be in our thoughts and prayers. Keep us updated to her recovery if'n ya don't mind.

That does sound like some serious fun..........but I can't make it. Vacation time and cash for the house are the main factors. I am hoping to have things in order for 2-3 track days next year. I will have more vacation time next year as well.

I will keep you guys posted. Thanks.
