Can't stop thinkin bout SPLASH. I had so much fun, I'm gonna have to do it again before season end. Any takers.
Whats all this talk about Buellers convertin to Trumpits. Guess people havn't tried out the Firebolt. Do what ya like, but who whants to ride Bertha when you can ride Betty. What I'm sayin is the bolt is so short and light, it makes my S2 and other bikes I ride feal like a chopper. Splash was the first time I've really riden it, and soon I'll get one. Next year Bob and Mike will see a blue streak and a fading red dot. I'm probably dreamin cause by next year those two will have them.
My next add will be "It's not the Meat, it's the Motion."
Hung like a Buell, Gootch

Hi Fellow NW BadWebbers,

Just an update on my mechanical failure that took me away from SPLASH last Saturday. I finally got some time to spend on my broken machine. The clanking noise was coming from the exhaust lifter area of the front jug, so that's where to start digging,

Removed the front rocker box set, pulled out the pushrods then took the pushrod tubes out. Slipped out the intake and exhaust tappets (service manual calls them tappets in 99 and lifters in 2000, but they look the same). Both tappets looked fine. The needle bearings for the roller against the cam were all in place, no problems here. Shit, out of time for now.

Next step is to pop off the cam cover and see what kinds of gremlins are hiding in there. Also need to pull the oil pump, this may be toasted. All this sunshine and I have a broken bike to play with, whaaaaaa. This is more of a whine than an update but it’s all the Buellin I can do for now. I’ll post again once I dig a little deeper.

Hey Toyracer,

Great seeing you at SPLASH this year! And also nice to see you posting here again. Sounds like that love hate relationship with that X1 is still going strong. Thanks for the Psalms of Buell, it helps explain the emotional connection I have with my Buell. I need to print it out for my wife and convince her it came from the good book to prove my behavior is totally normal. I know your not big on BRAG, but the STC (Sunset Thunder Club, Portland BRAG chapter) plans a ride every month, would be great if you could join us sometime. I look forward to ridding with you again in the near future.

Hey, where did all the cool stuff go? Colors, and sizes, and faces, all gone...
Kinda like me! Do to shit falling from the sky, far beyond my control, I will be soon un-online. This is economic, not technical. (RAY2K, I know you said you'd go without food first, but I don't think you've tried it lately)

So, the ribs are healing, but not healed. The bike is waiting for me to scrounge up some parts...if I can't find 'em befor Donner I WILL get the ductape out...it won't be pretty, but niether am I!!!

Well my little Droogies, untill we meet again

Brandon, Thanks for the profile but where's your picture?

Galen, hurry back. Get a cheap dial up connection or something. Anything!

In fact, what you should do is go to the mall and steal somebody’s credit card, then real quick buy a new computer and start an AOL account with that card. If your good you'll get somebody’s Platinum card and buy Betty a new fairing too. You’re on a roll, dude! Your hot! You could use that card to make a down payment on a new V-Rod at Ed’s House Of Pain and then come back on Saturday and eat $6.00 worth of free donuts. You da man! A friend that I haven’t seen for awhile says jail ain’t so bad. No guts, no glory. Go for it! Write and tell me how it goes.

Well, One more week of work left and I'll be joining the Bum Club!
I guess I can take up the job I've allways wanted, (Man Whore) Na, I'd just Screw the business up, Do the Jobs for free, have old clients, take clothes off and here sounds of laughter and never get paid due to poor performance!

Oh well, I do happen to be Married to the Mostest awsomest women on the Planet so I guess I'll have to do what I have allways done, ?????????

Mike, are you getting pumped about Donner? What day are you leaving? Is Matt riding with you? Is Kim going on the Border Raid?
Ya see these Questions need to be answered!

Ray, What did you find out about the Bike?
Galen, I'm looking for parts for you!

So many things to do and soon I'm gunna have time to do them, In The Rain Forest, Bob

Man Whore? Hmmmmmm, you know Debi is leaving early for Border Raid! You could do the Duce Bigelow thang' and make a few quick bucks - no sleeping around required just a trip to the ball park with a woman suffering from torrets (sp?)! That's not so F-ck-n bad. According to Matt I'm a post whore and I asked well what does that make Bob? A super duper post whore? Now you'll have time to really post some good stuff, hopefully it won't last long!

After talking to Debi last night I am planning on doing Border Raid. Need to work out the details still.

Well, I'm all set with financing for the future Trumpet. All I have to do is sell the Buell. So if anyone knows anyone looking for an S-3 send them my way. $5000.00 Hey Galen I know where you can get a fairing for Betty....and you get a whole bunch of spare parts to go with it. Oh, and it's silver.

I've given everybody a week to develope pictures of SPLASH so let's see some.
Bob- Matt and I were practicing for Donner tonight when suddenly my horizon was all blue, crap there went the flip flop ouch, my foot is hanging out of my sock and my toes are all buggered up. Going inside for more protection (sneakers). Mike

Duane, good to have you back, dog! The fairing sounds good, also! The dufus I rammed wants more for the dent than his car's blue book value! Sorry Charlie! I told him to just turn it in to his ins. He has no ins. I was not cited for anything. I'm afraid this is gona hafta go on my Karma tab.

Speaking of Karma, that brings me to Ray's sugestion. Crime, eh? I would have to disagree with your friends critique of the jail system. The last time I was there, for growing flowers, (ahem) there were two main groups.

1) Speed Freaks

2) Wife Beaters

The Nazi-Meth idiots could be divided into three main groups;

A) just in, and still high. All they could do was talk about how to cook it, where to get it, how great it was,

B) after a day or two, they fell asleep for a day or two,

C) when they woke up. Then all they could do was talk about how to cook it, where to get it, and how great it was. A dim-witted and boreing crew indeed.

The Wife Beaters were some what looked up to by the other inmates...and so it goes.

Bank work seems to be the way to go, at least statisticly. Only one in five un-authorized withdrawls are apprehended, and they are useually junkies/fool's who do something with no real planning or thought. The people who invest in the job (weapons, communication gear, vehicles with new tires, larger radiators, new brakes, etc.) are caught because they don't quit. The odds get 'em.
Or so I'm told...

Hey Ray, on another tangent, do you still have your stock mirrors from your M2? Would you be willing to donate them to Bettie? Huh? Please?

Guess this will do for now...

Galen: I could fix you up with a set of Gel Handlebar grips or a couple of stray turn signals or even a brand new primary chain tensioner but no mirrors. Sorry.

Destination HD has completed the damage estimates on our bikes. Lyle’s bike is damaged to the extent of $7,087.41 while Ray’s bike would “only” cost $5,793.78 to fix. When a wrecked bike would cost more than 2/3 of it’s value to fix it becomes a “Total.” What do you think? Is a Y2K M2 worth $8,650 or more?

Destination has two similar bikes in their used bike section and both are priced at $8,000. I’d be tickled pink to get that much from the insurance company. I’ve let it be known that Lyle and I would both like to use our insurance money to buy a Firebolt in hopes that Destination will help us get a favorable settlement.

The damage estimates have been FAXed to the insurance company and the ball is now in their court. I hope it won’t be another three weeks before we move on to the next step in this process.

If I could take possession of the two bikes before the insurance company hauls them off I could have lots of good used parts to give away or sell. Like a good set of bar-end mirrors for instance.

Standard intinerary for BorderRaid would be arriving in Vancouver for a tour of the Trev Deeley museum on Saturday, then a ride to Whistler to over-night Saturday. Sunday is the main event, riding north, then west to Lilluette, Spenses Bridge to Merritt, then Princeton, then back to Vancouver or east to Osoyoos, then south from there, if that's where you're heading.
There has been rumors of some changes wanted but it's not my place start the discussion.

Eric- feel free to give me a call 503-256-1184, Kim and I are going to be leaving Portland sometime after work friday and go as far north as possible. We will be at Deely's House of Buell by no later than noon on saturday and then we'll head directly up to Whistler.
