Dave, Yea we did contact the Heartland,thanks. Whats the deal for Sat.? Start showing up at what time? 0600?  Hanging around the parking lot? Will there be food? Beer? Should I bring my Little Joe BBQ? Lawn chairs? Badminton? Croquet?Actually, I'll probably need extra rear tires    | ||

VR1203, Sat we will be doing demos rides on all the Buells, including the new Firebolt! You can also sign up for the Slay the Dragon sweepstakes. Prize is a new Firebolt,a trip to Deal's Gap to ride with Erik Buell. You can only enter this on Sat. Hours are 10-4 on Sat. Sunday is the BattleTrax at the Waterloo Greyhound Park(about a mile from the dealership and across a cornfield from the Heartland Inn. Hours Sunday are 9-5. Yes there will be food and beer both days. No you can't bring your BBQ(the Dog Track will not allow that or coolers, they want to make some$$ from concesions) Yes there will be a fair amount of hanging out in the parking lot. I have a variety of vendors going to be there so you'll have stuff to look at while you're not competing. If you need more info please call me. Otherwise I'll see you then. Just throwing this in here because I don't know where else to put it... Rode by West Bend Harley/Buell tonight to check out their parking lot for next weekend's BattleTrax. Their parking lot goes all the way around their building, so they could set up a course just about anywhere there as long as the track guy likes the dimensions (speaking of which, did he get his two signs back from last weekend? found then sitting on a table in the evening and gave them to one of the owners of Hal's to foreward them to him.). Anyway, WestBends parking lots looks like fairly fresh pavement, like less than a year old, or else they had a recent resurfacing of it. Seemed to have fair traction. Any tar strips were long and straight and parallel so should be easy for the layout guy to cross any strips at 90° and hopefully not have any slippery corners. In any case there were not many of them, and the tar snakes I saw were at least 10 feet apart. Should be a decent layout, hopefully. I'll try to get up there again, only when they are open, to see if I can ask someone what corner of their lot they're going to stick us all in. | ||
