Antler Motel?????? Are you guys coming to the south???? That is in Gainesville MO, I even checked the phone # as it is in my local book, if this is the plan let me know some kind of itenerary now. so I can get out of the extra shift I volunteered for at the EMS station.
I really want to ride with some of you guys as I really feel like I'm getting way slow, I could even use those tires that are worn out on the sides only.

Hey all you SLABers. Gonna try and ride tomorrow but we'll see if my ass can get in gear. Looks like a great day ordered up for riding weather.

To dispell all rumours I'm still here in the flat lands and haven't been deployed ... yet. I'm coming up on 6 years here and I feel that Uncle Sugar is ready to introduce me to words like Osan, Kunsan, kimchee, etc. I've made a tactical manuever (offensive strike) and applied for a stateside assignment. (Colorado, Utah, California, and Arizona) Hopefully we'll hear something positive.

I gotta see JOhn's new beast! I'll take a Wed or Thur off if I need to!

"I'll be your Huckleberry..."

I want an S2 DAve

What's with this S2itis virus going around?...Worse than the klez as best I can tell...

Pilk...Sorry I wasn't more specific above about the HSTAers coming your way...Here's my plan...Ride 1st Saturday from Chesterfield Valley Power Sports to Bixby for lunch tomorrow...We should be in Bixby by noon or so as we're leaving CVPS at 9 a.m...You could meet the group there...I'm returning to STL from Bixby as I have a wedding to attend...The reception starts at 6 so I should be able to clear by 9 p.m...This will put me either back on the road by 10 or I may catch a few hours sleep and leave early Sunday morning...When I get home tomorrow from Bixby, I'm going to check the availability of rooms at the Antler and if there is one available, I'll probably leave at 10 p.m., else...I'm also waiting to hear if anyone else is dumb enough to do this and ride down with me...In any case, you could either meet us at Bixby Saturday or at the Antler Sunday morning...Their plan for Sunday is a twistie ride back north and you could ride and break away whenever...Should be a hoot...

By the way, Fred Zigler just left a post on the HTSA board that Dave Despain will not be at Bixby tomorrow...He did his thing in Memphis and then had to hightail it way north to the twin cities...

DAve...We have a spare room here if the AF should like to station you on this side of the river...You could gaurd Six Flags, or something for the next six years...We want you to stay HERE...

See Ya!

Bob, great I think I'll see you sunday morning. You should arrive at the antler around 2am, don't be alarmed at not having any sidewalks, they roll those things up at dark in Ozark county. What time to get up and around Sunday morning?

Dont ferget the RAN list.

DAve,
The "BEAST' is still very sick. Some new jugs and pistons finaly arrived yesterday. When it is breathing normal again we will have to go riding for sure. So far it has been one F**ked up year from my point of view. I have not posted much latley for fear of BLOWING MY F**KING STACK and saying things better left unsaid. There is nothing worse than a pissed off hillbilly with the intense disire to inflict great pain and suffering on anyone who might be close because his F**KING bike has been down for F**KING Five F**ING months now. Its 5 am and I woke up thinking about my F**KING bike and how I have not been able to ride this whole F**KING year so far. Sometimes you just have to let the F**KING anger out before you F**KING hurt somebody.
F**KING yours,
F**KING John.

ps I want a S2 too!

LOL, sounds like I am not the only one frustrated with the status of thier bike right now! 5 months!! ughhhhh makes my month or so seem mild by comparison!!

Think happy thoughts!!!!

I do have a suggestion for Buell manufacturing though!!!!!!! They should throw in a few free stress management sessions with the therapist of your choice for anyone that purchases a FI bike from them! That way they don't want to straggle every HD tech/manager/owner that doesnt understand what they were supposed to know about our bikes or that just don't care becuase it isn't some add 5,000 chrome parts, buy 10,000 pieces of clothing, saddlebag filled w/ beer, self guided to nearest bar hog.

AHHH, Hey V2WIN! that does help a bit!!!

now where's that therapist!

Dear F**KING John;

I know grumpy you are as I am in the same boat. On the MITM ride my bike passed 24,000 miles and the isolaters and rear shock went out. Rather than trust the dealer to do the isolater change for free, and rather than ask for a free recall shock so I can keep the exposed spring shock, I decide to do the work myself. Big mistake. Oh yeah, I had double hernia repair surgery in there somewhere also. Suffice to say I am grumpy. need wheelie. need rumble. need lean. need S1. The Firebolt test ride was a short reprise, but it aint no S1.

ORM kicked in and I decided not to ride Saturday w/the HSTAers. I did go to Festus and grope the Firebolt though and pick up an oil filter. Took a unplanned route back down P I think it was. Nice little road with those things on it ... mmm .... I think you call 'em hills and curves? Missouri is freakin' awesome ... damn I love the roads across the river.

F**KING V2Win: I hear ya brother. It sucks. When a dealership held my bike hostage for over a month I was pretty pissed over it. I know you did a lot of planning and it all went to hell. I'd be pissed to. Ask me about the Taurus SHO strut toss I performed last weekend once I got the SOB outta the car. I'm not even Scottish (re: stone toss)

F'n DAve
... still wants a F'n S2

F'n S2 wish'n DAve,
Never, never throw your stones. Especialy never throw them over your shoulder. You would not believe the pain. Never let anyone handle your stones unless she is very experienced in such matters. Never tie your stones up. Don,t let your stones drag the ground. Always keep your stones warm. Wet is ok but always warm. Exercise your stones regularly. Wrinkled stones or ok. Never stretch your stones out of shape. Never let anyone step on you stones. You may tickle your stones if you wish, or have someone else do it. She need not have experience to do that. Scratching stones is not only recomended but encouraged. You will know if your stones are getting too large; there will be no chicken strips on your tires.

Sorry I missed yall but the job called...and called....and called to the tune of 0900 sunday morning! so the only riding I was doing was my pillow for the next 6 hours, as that was almost 50 strait without sleep. Hope I catch you guys next time.

Rob...I just finished fillin John in on the phone...Here's my sad tale:...Wedding reception went MUCH later than I had planned...What with the
really good band with, of course, that famous Bud Light Wedding Band
Guitar Player, to which the wifey wanted to dance...Then, wasted
another 45 mins getting an accident report made after two valet race
jockies decided to mate our right rear panel with the left door of
another being valet retrieved...So, needless to say I got a much
later start from STL than planned...Jim Radcliff had tried to leave a message
on our recorder but all three were really muddled (but Jim, thanks
for the effort!)...Guess the message was something to the effect that
there were no rooms at the inn...Nice night for a ride tiptoeing down
the roads watching for drunks and skunks...The "boys" were really out
in Cabool...Route down was w on 44, s on 63, s on 181, w on 76, s on
95 and finally s on 5...Arrived at the Antler around 3:45 and walked
around looking for signs of a note or whatever...Amy and Bill Jone's
scoots parked out front and the rest down that wonderful slope at the
rear...Called the night tel number and was told what Jim already knew
(and I had to go to the Citco to make the call as my cellphone was
having the same result as Jim's) but there is another motel, The
Lynch, west of town...Filled out a 3x5 blank card to register at 4:30
but the room was clean and the AC worked...That's all I needed...Set
the screemin meanie for 5 hours sleep...By the time I got up,
dressed, etc, everyone had split...During my nighttime wonderings I
had passed a sign saying "Rockbridge 2 miles"...My brother was in
town from Tuscon with his kids and they and my father were fishing at
Rockbridge so I stopped there on the way home for my ride home
fuel...Headed west to hook up with HSTA's homeward bound route and
followed their breadcrumbs to Bixby...Then I veered from the route and
went most direct route up to 44 and STL for a family dinner at my
sis's...What did you think of the heat?...WOW, spring to summer in
two days...Used the soaker for the first time this year and have to
get some of that thermal clothing Steve was wearing...It was the rage
at the IBR last summer...Also Sidi has some summer socks that are
supposed to be terrific (Motonation, here comes my credit
card)...

Soooo...Almost eight hundred miles later and Rob it really didn't matter if you had to work or not but you still would have had fun riding with the HSTAers...We'll have to do it again...

Okay, do I really want to ask this question?...DAve what the hey is ORM?...

See Ya!

Well it looks like the bikes back on the rode again. Got her out and ran it on the highway to let the ecm reset itself. It leveled off a ton!

Thanks Bob, Josh, and Jose for all your advice!!!!

Can anybody else believe that there were 3 sensors out on this thing? at least that is what the error codes told me. replaced all them and reset tps (I did it with his the mech's scannilizer in Burlington and info from BADWEB becasue he did not know how). seems better now.(knock on wood) the is an occasional hesitation but that about it. I think the ecm just needs to map a little better.

It looks like V2WIN is making progress on his ride also!!!! picked this up on the California tour board.

"New pistons and jugs arrived the other day and I expect to have the "Beast" put back together by this evening.
Mine is a rather long story so I will just give you a brief summary. It turns out that Millinium sent thunderstorm pistons with the cylinders. The installer did not know the difference. I have a 97 with regular heads. They lasted about 500 miles before I was stranded in Tulsa."

Lets hope this gets starightened out for him also!!!

Maybe he was right!!!! sometimes you just have to vent and blow off some steam and things start to come around after that!
