We are a new BRAG group awaiting our official charter.

We choose the name Altitude Riders because that seems to be what we do;
We ride in the high altitude mountain ranges of Colorado.

We will have monthly meetings offering Buell related education & information, demonstrations and speakers. We will also have scheduled group rides through out the month.

We encourage group participation and all ideas are welcome.

Riding a Buell isn’t just an experience it’s a frame of mind

Thanks guys.
The dealership has been VERY supportive!!! With all the dealerships pulling away from the Buell product I wasn't sure what to expect but they have exceeded my wildest expectations in regards for support and promotion of the Buell line. I think having the Pres. of Buell drop in a couple weekends ago helped. Apparently he and some others took the new bikes out and did about 1000 miles all over CO the weekend after the dealer conv. in Denver. Word was the bikes were incredible and no one had ANY problems and they rode a lot of dirt- from what I hear.

I have been here just over a month and they got this up and going quick for us.
They got us our own website, mailing lists and mailings out to every Buell owner in the area to invite them our first ride on Saturday. We're having an informal 'Meet & Greet' on Thursday at a local 'pub' so that will be cool.
There is a big biker rally in one of the gambling Mtn towns about an hour away, we're going to meet-up Saturday at the dealership in the Morning, check out the new Buell's then head to the hills.
Should be a great time riding with multiple Buell's- again I just need to introduce them all to Odie pipes so that it sounds like 'home' when we all ride together :}

Speaking of riding with multiple Buell's I will be in Atlanta on Business the last weekend in Aug. if anyone wants to ride- Oh I guess I should post this on your board.

If any of you guys ever need a place to crash or a partner to ride with while passing through the Springs area just hit me up with a little advance notice!
We had our first meeting tonight...twelve members! All very cool people and true Buell enthusiasts. I hope to ride with you all soon!

WOW!!!!

What an incredible evening. It was so cool to pull up and see a couple Buell's in the parking lot almost made me feel like 'home' umm I mean Atlanta. By the end of the evening we had a good crowd of bikes and it really felt like Atlanta- Not bad for our first meet-up.

What a great bunch of people. Everyone was so cool and personable. There were some sharp looking bikes too. I still say you all have to do something about your stock blinkers though

Matt- I'm sure some 3%er's will head this way in the next year for sure. Considering they'll have a free place to crash and killer Mountain riding how could they resist???

Jerry- What time on the 7th are you planning to leave Cripple Creek?
Your plans say VIA Pikes Peak, what exactly do you mean?
Are you going up the Mountain then back down, through Colorado Springs to Canyon City??
I need a little more clarification on your route and I'll see what I can plan with everyone to meet up with you.

I'll be coming out, I loved Colorado when I visited. I only wished I had a bike when I was there. I'll take care of that next year when I visit. A lot of camping and riding will be happening. I'll bring the super-motards as well.

Ya'll could come out at the same time- make it a 3%er's road trip

I'm sure we could get Kayla to babysit the wee one so Shelly could ride too.

Rescue Ride Logo

Greetings Fellow Riders!

The Gunnison Valley Hospital EMS (EMT-Paramedic) Division has put together a benefit motorcycle ride to benefit our Education Fund on September 24, 2005.

The GVH-EMS service area encompasses over 4000 square miles of Gunnison, Montrose and Saguache Counties. Some of the most beautiful roads in the state traverse our service area. Unfortunately we end up caring for too many riders who crash on these roads. We cover this area with one on-duty ambulance and one ambulance on call. Response and transport times can take up to 90 minutes each way in the farthest reaches of our service area.

Like most public safety agencies, our budget is stretched as tight as the "E" string on a mandolin. Because of this, we don't have a budget for continuing medical education which is imperative to provide the best and most up to date care for our patients. In an effort to change this we have put this benefit motorcycle ride together to help defray education costs.

We would like to invite you and your friends to come ride with us at the 1st Annual Gunnison Valley Hospital - EMS "Rescue Ride". The first 75 registrants will receive a special gift.

Registration will be at 7:30 AM at the Community Bank of Colorado - Gunnison Branch 1100 North Main (Hwy 135 just North of Wal-Mart) with coffee and baked goods provided. Make sure your gas tank is full!

The Ride begins in Gunnison and heads west on US 50 Hwy through the beautiful Curecanti National Recreation Area to Route 92 which follows the North Rim of the Black Canyon. We'll follow SR 92 through Crawford State Park to Hotchkiss and then head North on Route 133 over McClure Pass to Carbondale and then into Aspen via SR 82. We'll have lunch, raffles (including a 50/50), and camaraderie. From Aspen we head East over Independence Pass, past Twin Lakes Reservoir and pick up US 24 HWY just East of Baltown. We'll ride West on 24 HWY (actually South) to Buena Vista and grab US 285 HWY South to Poncha Springs and West on US 50 Highway over beautiful Monarch Pass to Gunnison.

Discounted hotel rates in Gunnison have been arranged for those who may travel to Gunnison from a distance. Make sure you tell them you are part of the GVH-EMS Rescue Ride to get your discount.
Gunnison Inn/Lodging Company 970-641-0700; Western Motel 970-641-1722; Gunnison Super 8 Motel 970-641-3068.

For those staying overnight after the Ride, there will be a get-together with beverages and music provided to celebrate our accomplishment.

More information may be found at www.gvh-colorado.org at the bottom of the page.

I thank you for your time and wish you well. If you have any questions, you may contact me (Lars) at EMS: 970-641-7276
or via email: "mailto:lars243@adelphia.net?subject=2005-Rescue-Ride"

Keep your wheels on the road and we look forward to seeing you.

Saturday was an awesome ride up to Cripple Creek for the VA event! Well, awesome except for the hail. Some people were fortunate enough to have rain gear, but I wasn't one of them. Good news is my wife absorbed most of the water kicked up from the back wheel so I stayed dry. We're staying true to the Bad Weather Bikers' image. We're so happy to have a chapter here in Colorado Springs!

Mtnchld: Where did you get the turn signals on your bike? I noticed them during the ride on saturday and couldn't find them online.

Also does anyone know anything about the Pro Series suspension kit for the xb9R? Is it a good thing to do? Does it make a noticeable difference?

I got my blinkers at Cylce Gear in Atlanta- Here is a link to their website.
http://www.cyclegear.com/
After the hail Sat it looks like I'll be stopping by there while I'm in Atlanta to get a re-placement. I was worried about my visor shattering from the hail and never even thought twice about the hail breaking my turn signal.
Oh well

Here are the pics that were taken at the dealership before the ride. See the cloud covered Mountain in the background, that's Pikes Peak we're getting ready to ride up behind there.

Hey guys,
We need some advice from you.
In June several of us from here in St.Louis, Mo will doing a ride in your direction and beyond. We are thinking that new rear tires will be in order somewhere in Colorado. Maybe Denver or northwest of there. We will be on several different brands of bikes so no specific brand of dealer is needed. Just an honest customer service orientated dealer needed. Suggestions?

Hey V2win. I live in the Arvada area and have a great motorcyle shop in mind. Its not a dealership just a darn good shop. "Thunderbird Motor Scooters" West and North of Denver in Wheat Ridge. Great place for tires and one of the mechanics rides a Buell. (303-463-9399) If you need a dealership for Harley / Buell may I recommend High Country Harley-Davidson / Buell. One dealership in Boulder (303-545-6777) and one off of I-25 North in Frederick. (303-833-6777)
I have been to other shops in the Denver area but these are the ones I like best based on customer service. Thunderbird is a little less expensive and I like to support the mom and pop places sometimes. Besides you can hang out in the shop and talk bikes with gear heads...

If you get as far South as Colorado Springs the Pikes Peak Harley Davidson shop is definitely a winner.
