Our first ride is scheduled as a meeet and greet, to the Salt River Canyon. Lunch will be provided by Chandler HD after the ride. I would like your feedback on your interest in this chapter. Right now Andrew and myself are trying to get things organized, with the help of Matt C.
at Chandler and some very friendly H.O.G. organizers once we get this rolling we can take over direction of the chapter. I will create a E-Mail address for Q&A.
Lets make this chapter a success!
By the way Chandler is really looking foward to making this chapter a success. Were arranging a trackday and demo truck if we get enough inetrest we may be able to get Erik out here for the demo, also there will be discounts on parts and accessories.
More to come!

I honestly wish you success. I know Chosa's (before they were bought out) tried doing the same ...... ask Carey. Hacienda HD (whom I hate) tried it in 98-99 (I was involved there), without success.

I went to Chandler HD today to take some pictures with measurements (for others that requested it elsewhere here). I was told the bike would be in Tuesday and it did indeed come, but they still haven't un-crated it as of today. It's black, in stock form.

Was sort of pissed because I went down there with every intention of buying a Ulysses today. I was sort of pissed and let down that it wasn't available after calling last week and getting an e-mail on Monday from Doug about it arriving.

Hell, I had to go find a salesman after looking strolling around for 20 minutes. They were all grouped together talking about something and I politely went up and asked if they had a Ulysses in. None of the 6 salesmen knew (had the deer in the headlight look) until I told them I received an e-mail from Doug about it. <duh> I probably won't buy another Buell after all, just don't trust any of the Buell dealerships here and this just enforces it more so. I've been involved with the Buell community in Arizona for a long time. Long before Hacienda, Chandler, Chosa's, Mayer and Flagstaff dealerships.

Oh well,

If Chandler is willing to make the effort to sponsor a club, and all that we, as BUELL owners do is dwell on the past, then of course it wouldn't last. We just have to make the effort. Thanks to Jeremy and Andrew the opportunity is there and I for one will be behind it 100%.

People tend to focus on the fact that HARLEY salespeople know little to nothing about our bikes...true. WHO CARES!! Drag them over to the little corner where BUELLS are relegated and tell them that you want to buy a bike. I guarantee that they will sell you one. From there you have the option whether or not to have the service guys work on your bike or do it yourself. You don't really have to ever speak to another HARLEY salesman again.

All I'm saying is that we need to move beyond the disconnect between HARLEY and BUELL. The attitude of the HARLEY crowd toward our bikes won't be going away anytime soon...and it really doesn't make a damn bit of difference.

PS- Thanks again for the help with the airbox, Jeremy.

Not writing this to anyone off, stop anyone from organizing anything, or even participating, nor to wish wart growth on your nuts in huge quanities Just expressing my opinion as I see it from past experiences.

If I were to buy a Buell today, it would be from Dave Stueve in Wisconsin. You know, someone that obviously "really cares" and shows it, thoroughly understands the products he sales, is there for you all the time (during work hours and after work hours), rides the products, participates in helping others with their Buell(s) even on the BBS, you know a “real salesman”.

As for dwelling in the past, there’s no doubt that I indeed dwell from the “many” extremely poor service experiences I’ve received the past in Arizona. Trying to "learn from them as well" of what to do next time but haven’t ever figured that out yet.. What I’ve learned is I absolutely refuse to accept "poor service" as acceptable service simply because I have no other options, I do, don’t buy the product. I see utterly nothing of value that Chandler HD could offer me from a sales and/or a service perspective. I can attend track days (and better ones outside of Arizona), ridding partners, plan trips and have fun without belonging to a Brag Group.

Not that you asked but I won't participate in Brag Club –IF- it appears to make their service(s) look better than it really is, which is what “I feel” there real involvement motive is. I could care less about the Harley group side (so to speak), what they do, how they organize, how they sell or what they wear. I care about the Buell group side of the equation that acts and treats you like you belong to the Harley group side. That's how “I see” the Brag Club in this scenario. A group of dedicated Buell owners that love their rides trying to convince those in power at a poor poser dealership to love the products like they do. I have more enjoyable things to do with my time even to the extent of cutting my grass when it’s 115 degrees out with 80% humidity.

I stopped in at Arrowhead last tuesday to put my name in for a test ride. They said they were getting one black unit shipped on the 10th. I then had them call Chandler to see if they had one sooner. The answer back was they were not going to get one shipped any sooner that the 10 also. Just trying to add info as I find it not saying SD is wrong about Buell in a box. But it sure would be nice to get a straight story from these car dealers.

Smoke: I suggest you take your issue with Chandler to Matt C. he WILL make sure you do not have the same expierience.
As far as the group goes the reason they failed is they had poor leadership.
I mean come on how hard is it to get riders to ride, a real leader would overcome whatever issues exist and FIX them.
In my eyes what Chandler is doing is a hell of a lot more than any other AZ dealer is.
If you have a gripe about the dealership, that is not my problem nor anybody else's on this thread.
This thread is for organizing rides, and in the near future BRAG events.
Thank you to everybody in advance for your support.
Smoke: I hope you can overcome your past expieriences and give this chapter a shot.

I have to agree that I enjoy the buying experience from someone knowledgeable on the product be it Buell or not. If/when I buy a Ulysses, it will be from DaveS in Wisconsin...

I agree that we should not dwell on the past, so, I will make every ride I can from out here in Yuma. BuellJ, nice choice in name. My first thought was, what was wrong with AZBUELLERS, but I'm coming around. I just wish we had stuck with the old thread... Maybe it's just me?

Good luck J on the endeavor. Look forward to the rides / trackdays.

Thanks Charlie, sometimes we dont always get what we want, what i mean is you take any of us into a dealership that sells Buells and 90% of the time we will have more product knowledge than them.
Just something I guess we will have to bring up at meetings.
Smoke: I dont doubt yours or Carey's leadership skills, Chosa's seemed to have dropped the ball on everything Buell.
Andrew & myself believe we can with the help of others, help the participating dealership (Chandler) see what the Buell community needs.
I personally have talked to a good number of Buell owners that purchased their bikes from Chandler and they have nothing but good things to say.
If I were representing the dealership I would try and resolve the issue personally with you.
But all I can do is bring it to the attention of Matt, and let him deal with it.
I'm sorry you feel the way you do, it would be nice to have a knowledgable person like yourself helping out.
ride safe J

This is good to see. Being in Az all the rides were grassroots. I have to admit, I was a little envious of the 3%'ers and the organization they had... I know we can make this work. I'll be out to Phoenix soon and I'll have to make sure the trip coincides with a ride!

Andrew,
Good to see that you're carrying/planning to carry apparel/parts and accessories. One suggestion... I really like the dealership personalized shirts that Daves did in Appleton. It's a Vanson shirt of excellent look and quality. If you made a Chandler Buell shirt, I'd buy some! Long sleeve please!

Good luck guys,
Charlieboy

Nice ride today. Would be better if a few more of you guys could've made it, oh well maybe next time. Road was a little dirty but we dealt with it, had breakfast after wards with a little chat session.
