Bob,
After sounds better to me also. I know that I will loose one day of riding during the weekend as we are going to try to do the whitewater thing this year. I will check into when they are running that time of year. I imagine you are right about only running on weekends though.
Another note. As I will be trailering down to the gap anybody that wants to add to my load is more than welcome. (bike, equipment, etc....) WE will just have to set up a time. I have to go through STL to get there anyway.

Keith,
Just in case you are not aware. That sensor requires a special socket to remove and to reinstall. Snap-on makes it or you might be able to modify a regular socket if you have the resources.

John,
Thanks for the input. Bob and I spoke earlier this week about the same situation. As compared to his S3 where the sensor is down in the center of the head, my X1 has the sensor right next to the rear spark plug. It is accessable with a regular wrench. Thank god! just had to remove the plastic piece to get to it easily.

Yup, gotta love the 99s.
'Course mine now has '01 heads on it.
I'm wondering if I can get to it w/o removing the tank?

Just spoke with Heather on lunch and she made plans for me this weekend! plus informed me that if I was late to my daughters recital she would kill me!.

I would also like to invite any of you that are interested up to Quincy for two events. Heather and I are willing to have you guys stay with us for these two events. I have two extra bedrooms. One with a queen size bed and another with two full size beds.

1. July 3rd. not really a riding event but a great chance to get a taste of what Quincy is about. Central Illinois Collegiate League Allstar game. 7000 people in the stadium enjoying baseball, food, beer, and fireworks. (no frozen margarita's, but we might be able to come up with something!) 7000 people is pretty good when you consider that quincy has a population of 45,000 and many people are also sitting out on thier lawns watching. probably one of the best fireworks displays around. lastyear lasted 45 min to 1 hr. seeing how most people don't have to work on the 4th, you guys can take a ride up 79, park the bikes at my place, and we will provide transportation to and from the game and other festivities. You are welcome to stay again on the 4th and take in some of National Tom Sawyer Days down in Hannibal (20 minutes away) or take your time exploring some roads on your way back. We are completely flexible and would enjoy having some of you up. The baseball game is really a not miss event.

2. Missouri State Harley Owners Group Ralley - Grand Parade Saturday the 7th Hannibal. Since Hannibal is just 20 minutes away Quincy is not a bad launchin pad for the weekends events. Plus we have a much better nightlife! I know this is the weekend before the Deals Gap trip, but if you are interested we would love to have you guys.

See if you guys can fit either of these into your schedules!

Good deal, I'll see you in the morning. By the way, I'll be bringing about forty or fifty friends along....seems that a colony of ants have decided to take up residence in my speedometer housing. Adam

Hey, Neil!
I know that you will be reading this message board, you slacker! Do me a favor and tell my sexy boyfriend that I miss him! Tell him that we got our asses chewed off by the Seargent this morning, but that I later recieved encouragement and support in my quest for "best-overall". Tell him that I am really looking forward to relaxing this next weekend with him down at The Farm, and that I can't wait to receive the anniversary gift that he promised me. Tell him that I think he is great!
Thanks! Jenn

Couldn't believe it...John and I decided to ease our pain a bit and go to Springfield next weekend for the races...Printed out a list of Springfield motels from the net and the first place I called had 18 vacancies...Wow, what luck!...But what does it mean when they quote the room rates by the hour?...So we're leaving Friday morning and taking the LONG way...Go up the river, maybe over to Niehaus...Anyone know of any places to vist of interest between STL and SGF?...Also, we would be interested in good BBQ or maybe a pork chop suggestion...

A suggestion was made this weekend that we consider doing a "pork chop" ride quest to Patti's in Grand Rivers, KY...I'm sure all of you have read Keith's account...It's 230 miles from Eureka so a one day excursion is not out of the question...We could do back roads down and the interstate back...It would probably have to be our June ride as here's what our schedule looks like:

June - ???
July - Lake of the Ozarks
August - 2nd annual SLAB survivor rally
Sept - Deal's Gap
October - HSTA Friends of Freddy rally

Let me know if you want to do this in June...Maybe we could meet up with the Evansville BRAGerts as it's only 110 s'miles for them...

See Ya!

Jeez, GET A ROOM!...

So, bozo, how was the parade?...Sounded like not nearly as bad as what you had anticipated from what Paul heard...Okay, how bad is the damage?...I was disturbed to hear that you had dropped it but, you know my history...I usually do that within two weeks or so of a acquisition...If it's not bad, consider leaving it alone as it will ward off further bad things...

See Ya!

Bob,
You out to check out Mother Jones monument and the miners cemetary, I can't remember the name of the town but its right up rt66 just this side of Litchfield. You might do some reading first on "Bloody Williamson" so you know what you're looking at.

Also, just past Springfield in Salisbury is one of the best-known modern folk artists - George Colin. We have one of his pastels and his work is hanging in the Il govenor's mansion.

Here's a link that might take you to other places.

Course the best stop on the way up is our house but we won't be home.

Bob, Which river you planning on traveling up? The big one or the IL. Just a suggestion. When I traveled down to see the ballgame lastweek we traveled the IL side to goto Alton and The grafton area was underwater. Kampsville was also underwater. I might be in SPR on sunday (if I can get heather to agree and my damn part gets in tommorrow) so let me know where you guys are staying and I will give you a call if I am going.
As far as traveling to the Springfield area, its all pretty flat once you get away from the rivers.

Who you callin' Bozo? You talkin' ta me?

The parade was definately a lot less hazardous than what I believed it was going to be: we only had one call (during the actual precession) for shots fired, the vehicle that they were fired from promptle smacked into a lightpole while trying to escape. We had one of the "hooptie" vehicles that was in the parade catch fire and when all the occupants bailed out, it when out of control at a slow rate of speed and was "captured" by one of our Finest, who was then transported for minor burns. There were only three gang-related fights, and a fandful of people who fell off parade vehicles, I can't call them "floats", because they were nothing more than Auntie Shaniquas Mercedes with a streamer slammed into the trunk lid! I personally was Mother-Fucked only three times, was called "robocop" once, and received a few more than my fair share of offers to fill the position of Ghetto Princess, all of which I managed to turn down without incident! Next year at least I will know what to expect!
