For those that I can not e-mail.
Heres the ride plans for sunday 1 April 01.
9AM(0900) at McDonalds in Seffner.
Back roads such as they are in the area we
will be riding to POINCIANA(know some will want
to stay and play) and then to Lakeland Raceway
for the Drags.
So everyone understands this WILL NOT BE
a ride race(thats what POINCIANA and Lakeland
Raceway are for).

Clydeglide and Buellistic ! way to rally the troops.. a ride and the Drags ! awesome Sunday ahead.
Rich: some of the Orlando sportbike crowd will be in Orange City. I will not, Tuesday is now Boy Scout night for my son and I. Thursday @ S&S at 436/Aloma for sure though. |

What time is the dead line for leaving Seffner on Sunday? I would be heading north from Venice, so I'd like to get a general idea on my travel time. (let's not forget the time change this week-end as well, right) Judging by the size of the dot for Seffner on my map, McDonalds should'nt be too hard to find...Mitch |

Rough day at Poinciana today ! Not sure if it was that April 01 thing but rough ! I saw 3 bikes going home broken on trailers. 2 of our group went down hard, ( no major hurts..rash and bruises only) several squids in another group went down..2 broken collarbones in the mix.
John SHREDDED ! his belt under hard acceleration then after we swapped on a new one blew his motor a hour later doing wheelies.
Seems like everyone else had the usual great time and I know we will do it again soon. It was good to put faces with names from the web.
I was glad to get home and park in one piece.

Sandy And Katie ! A couple of Orlando 1203 members ( She rides a sweet Shovel)
They rode and drove to the rescue at Poinciana. Bringing spare parts, tools, jack stands, drinks and snacks and then on site Katie bandaging broken collarbones, taking a fallen rider to the hospital and displaying her EMT skills.

See you Thursday pm @ S&S Winter Park. Though it's been rather boring lately! More wheelie, stoppie and burnout action @ S&S Deltona!
Sunday is still undecided. Anybody have any suggestions for a destination? Probably meet @ Winter Park S&S at 9 am, leave at 10.
Here's something new. We've been wanting to go run our bikes at the dragstrip. Wednesday, April 11 (next week) is the day. The strip (Orlando Speedworld) opens at 6 pm, closes at 10:30 pm. Admission is $10.00 and there's no extra charge to run your bike. I'm sure you need protective gear, so bring it along. I'm looking forward to seeing what the Jackal will do in the 1/4 mile.

Next Wednesday night will be the night for the first ever local Buell riders challenge! We huddled at Steak and Shake last night, and since most of the Buell riders showed up, threw out the idea of the Buell Challenge! Everyone thought it was an idea whose time had come.
So next Wednesday starting at 6:00 pm, come on out to ride or spectate, and watch the show. Admission is $10.00, and you can run as many times as you like. You can pair off with anyone you like, or just run against the clock and compare times later.
Unfortunately, George, eric and I have to work this weekend, so we won't be able to ride, but we'll be at the drags Wed!

The official press release follows:
Harley-Davidson announced today the Company has chosen to end its
factory VR1000 Superbike racing program and retire from the American
Motorcycle Association (AMA) Superbike series after the final round of
the 2001 season at Virginia International Raceway on September 28-30...
"Our development team took a hard look at rebuilding the program this
year, and what it would take to bring the VR 1000 to a competitive level
and replace it with a new design. Harley-Davidson has determined the
resources required to do that are simply too costly to pursue given our
other business priorities," said Baker.
Well, Maybe they will finally do the right thing and Create a Buell
motorcycle to race in its place!!!!!
Quite honestly, I think Eric Buell should demand it!!! Picotte is still under
contract for another 2 years with HD. Can you imagine the possibilities
with Pascal on an Eric Buell creation???????

Looking for riding cronies!
Anybody in Seminole / Orange / Volusia off in the middle of the week? I'm off Wed - Thur. Ridng solo is fun but it would be nice to meet up with like minded friends and go ride sometimes! Not being off on the weekend excludes me from most of the club activities around. There are some great roads around here...... |
