I spent the day at Ray Price's "customer appreciation" day today. Hundreds of Hardleys, only 5 Buells. What gives?? I know there are more of us out there. In any case, the three Buellers I talked to seemed like good people. I got to check out a sweet S1WL. Somehow the owner was the only Bueller in the show who went home empty handed. It was a good show anyway. Hope to see more BadWeBers at the next event.

From the looks of it I don't know if I'll make it to Michael's anytime soon. I haven't had an open Sunday morning in a while now. I'm glad to see a little activity in this section though. Rookie, be sure to let us know when you get here.

Damn, last post here was over a month ago. I know there are more Buellers than this in NC. Anyway, Ray Price HD has a Vrod in, and I discovered if you act interested they'll let you ride it. I got to take it on a "guided" test ride, even then I managed to spin the tire a few times and get it up over 100mph. Pretty quick bike.

Two months with no posts. This is embarassing. They're saying it'll be 70 degrees tomorrow, should be a great day for riding.

I'll go ahead and chime in.... still reading from St. Louis and am still expecting to move to Fayetteville in October or so. The weather has been acting strange here, 30 degrees one day and then 60 the next. Ride while I can.

I've just found this part of the BBS, been checking out tech tips and such. I live in Charlotte. I'm on my 2nd Buell, 2000X1 Millennium #348 is the ride now. Some work done on the motor. I would like to get some rides going with fellow NC Buellers. My work takes me all over Western NC and I have some favorite twisties that Buells are made for.

There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of activity on the board at times but don't let that discourage you. I'll look you up for some of those twisties when I finally get there.

I've been checking out this site from time to time and I too just recently noticed the NC riders part. I live in Wilmington & have a 98 S3 that I picked up used.
Unfortunately I don't get to ride as much as I'd like but I love the bike. Now that I,ve stumbled across this part of the site I'll keep checking in to see if there is anyone out this way. I know that there are a few Buells here in town but I don't really know anyone(except 1) that has one.

later...

bubba,

Currently hanging out in the Detroit area. Left Fla in a huff and kinda quick. My ex-boss pulled one to many comin to work under the weather. Didn't get along with his replacement, best option was to get xfer'd.

What ever happened to the guy who did you over? Saw your deuce on ebay, noticed you at least pulled the PENSKE off.

Need the help of you tarheels...Most of you probably know that we will be having a repeat of the Deal's Gap rally this Sept 13-15...We have just been informed that this is the same weekend as the Carolina H-D Dealers' Assn rally in Maggie Valley and we need some intel on this rally...How many attended last year?...Is is a big party or do they spread out and ride the mountains?...How do you think this rally will affect 200 or so mad Buellers centered at Fontana Village but riding as far east as Mt Mitchell, south into GA and north as far as maybe southern WVA?...Keep in mind that we break up into small groups of maybe six or so...Any help you can give us will be greatly appreciated...

See Ya!

Racerboy:
It's usually a big party in Maggie Valley. The parkway is crowded with them. Shouldn't be a problem with Deals Gap or any of the roads us Buellers prefer. I would acquire accomodations early to be safe. Looking forward to a trip to the Dragon!

Rocky...Thanks for the info and the reminder re accomodations...Hope everyone takes that to heart...Looked up your bio here and you referred to Hwy 215...Hmmm, don't know where that is but will look it up in Delorme this evening...Also VERY impressed with the mods made to your ride...Thanks again...

See Ya!

Rocky...Am home and checked out 215...This will crack you up...I set my mapping program with the northern end of 215 as the start and the southern end as the finish and it routed me over 276 to the east when I selected "scenic"...Apparently 215 is not "scenic" in the minds of Delorme...As a loop 215 and 276 would be awesome...I had planned on making The Blue Ridge Motorcycle Resort at Cruso one of our "points" locations during the rally...We'll just have to leave it to the riders to decide if they want to go that far east and risk the traffic from the Rally in the Valley...How come there's so little activity on this thread?...

See Ya!

We're planning a ride around WV mountains coming up for the last week of April (tentatively from 5/1 through 5/5). We're gonna keep the group small but would like to hear from anyone seriously interested. This will not be a smell the roses kinda tour and we plan on sustaining somewhat illegal speeds. No FLs, Goldwings or KLTs need apply. No Blasts either unless you know how to turn that wick and no newly-licensed kids on R1s ;)

Follow this link for details and email me at ctres@iitri.org

http://www.sacborg.com/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=7&t=000017

The plan is to base out of the Snowshoe Mountain area which is smack in the middle of the Monongahela National Forest (middle eastern WV). Then we're gonna do loops north and south...maybe as far north as Berkeley Springs and as far south as New River Gorge.

I'm eyeing up lodging right now. We can go high class and stay at Snowshoe in cabins with all the ammenities or go el cheapo and stay at nearby Cass in ex-loggers' houses or somewhere else. The estimated lodging cost is like $50 a night in Snowshoe and prolly like 2/3 of that if we stay in Cass. This all depends on how many people we get. Check out the links I posted on SACBORG.

As we wanna keep this small, the core group will be defined in the next 2-3 weeks. We got about 4-5 definites right now and I'd like to limit this to like 10-15 max.
