Don,
Don't think I'll be needing those, I don't plan on going down anytime in my future, although there is something about these XB's that does bring out the animal in you.
Let's do the Happy Dance!
I have to admit, I have had a grin on my face all weekend.

Wycked,
That is one sweet pic you took of those roads! I'd like to get a hi-res copy of that if possible.

Kobie,
Thanks for the tip on the road up to the towers! Wycked and I explored every road up there this afternoon. SWEET! Nice to have in our back yard!
I think we were all a little goofy, or maybe that was just me and my little Genie, LOL
Wycked strikes a pose

The City X is real comfortable, this seat has extra padding I do believe, and my butt certainly likes it more than the seat on the S1W.
So comfortable, you could sleep on it.

But then, some folks can sleep anywhere

I think Wycked was a little bummed when they wouldn't let him take it for a spin. : )
waaaa
(actually the kid had dropped it, and Wycked had helped him back up.

One last pose before we hit the road in search of liquid refreshment

All in all the bike is a blast to ride. I got lucky and nailed a pretty good deal. Now it's nice to have an XB in the stable.

Hey, where'd my post go??? Operator error I presume.

Congrats on the bike Bart! I left two days too early. Ah well. I didn't have my bike with me anyway. So, which will you be taking to Springfast??? S-1, S-2, or XBSX???

Wycked,

Do tell. How'd those rubbers work on the roads you guys hit. I was going to be the guinea pig but you beat me to it. Are they worth $135, or should I continue to pay more??? You have the Ravens right? 009's...

When I do my trackday, I think I'll buy some of their track tires. The dimple slicks. Listed as soft compound. I bet their great!

Charlie, they are VERY slow to warm up. Once they do warm up they are real good. For commuting they work great and yes I have the 009 Ravens. Interesting thing about yesterday, you remember the size of the chickenstrips that were still there? I have just over 1/4 inch on each side in the back, and 1/8 of an inhc on the FRONT! Never used more of the front then the rear before.

Art, I should have stopped and gotten a pick of the slide mark I left in that corner: ) The tire was still all cold and slippery when I hit the corner, did the "When in Doubt power out" and left a bit of rubber in a nice stripe across the double yellow. Think I got new pucker marks in the seat...

Sweet...

Thanks for the info. Those are their long life tires and with as much straight road as I've got here, I could use em. Can't beat the price. I'm using my new Diablo's for Springfast, then I'll order a pair of those to keep as their replacement...

Bart,
Congrats on the new bike. Must be a big change from the tubers you own. It's gotta be a no brainer which bike to take on SF.

Well I didn't ride up this week after all. I looked at the extended forecast and figured with my luck I'd bring the rain! Of course now it'll be perfect for the rest of the week, but I'm sure y'all appreciate that!

Yours truly,

WM

Kobie,
not sure what you mean, the S2 is still the ride I'm planning on taking on the SF. Why would I want to take the mini-bike, when I can take something I can stretch out on. The tubers still have the power over the nine's as far as I'm concerned.

Brian,
I wouldn't worry too much about it, watching the weather tonight, I see a monster storm heading in, fixing to hit the whole western part of the US. See ya Tuesday night!

We need more S2's in the Springfast, I'm getting lonely being the only S2 on the rides!!!

Bart,
I figured you'd be so overwhelmed wih the new bike that it would be your "horse" for the ride. All those tight turns on 191 just scream out for and XB. Maybe you can teach the genie how to ride that one?

Azbueller,
It's always lonely riding at the back of the pack.

nothing overwhelming about a mini-bike with superior handling abilities. Some of us still prefer power and some room to stretch out, and hang some luggage. : )

so we're meeting at Fuels on Bell tonight?
I'll be there around 7PM

Bart,
Thanks for the spin on the XB. That thing is damn cool. Quite different than the standard XB S. Now if it only came in a 12.........

Wicked,
The XBS bars ended up working perfect. Thanks man. I owe you one.

All,
I'm thinking about riding up to Prescott this Saturday morning. Leave around 10am from North PHX.

Any takers?

The weather report says chance for snow above 5000ft. What's the highest elevation we hit on the way?

DANG!

My girlfriend's Father is coming to town on Saturday...

Got the Force pipe Dyno'd BTW... very rich from 2300-2800 as I suspected. Between about 13 and 15 throughout the rest of it. The dyno said 85.5HP and 74.4Tq and other than the whole at 2K it's a nice smooth power curve. The dyno was at Bellmont HD and I'm pretty sure I had too little air in the tire.

When I got there, they let me pretty much have the Dyno room to myself... The Dyno guy was setting up the computer for me, sitting on the bike and operating the throttle, but I was running the show as far as what I was working on and adjusting the potentiometers myself while watching the A/F meter and the lights on the Techlusion.

The settings I ended up with... off, off, off, 7:30... The bike runs a little rich everywhere but 3750 to 5000, where it's right about 14.5.

In any case, the hole at 2K is pretty ugly, but other than that, I'm good. Not too lean anywhere.

I'll be setting that race ECM to my bike and I'll give that a go too. I think the stock ECM may be dumping more fuel because it thinks that it still has two exhaust paths...

Mikel, please remind me who you got that from so I know who to pay if it's not defective.
