What is the difference between the rider backrest for the 09 touring models and the mounting locations on the new Tri-Glide? It appears to be the same thing, but maybe have to add a hole to the Tri-Glide? either way, whats the difference?
My father-in-law just purchased an 09 Tri-Glide and has been getting the run around from everybody on the local level and even at Mustang when he tried to purchase a backrest from them with a part number I found on the H-D forum under the trike section. Any help in understanding the difference between the different makes of the touring class would be greatly appreciated, mounting hole alignment, fittment of the backrest mount with the seat, whatever it is.

It's been discussed on this forum

Seems you can make a regular rest work - either straight up or with minor tweaking.
