Got a customer who really likes the Street Glide but wants to have the tour pack with backrest and top box like on the Electra Glide.

He is shorter and so likes the lower seat height of the SG.

Would you buy the SG and add the tour pack (at a cost between $750-1000) or would you buy the EG and have the suspension lowered and swap out the seat?

I think he'd be happier with option one, but option two would be cheaper.

It depends on the finances. I'd rather have the SG for the looks, but the EG for the practicality. So, if I could afford the SG with the additions to such as the tourpak, that's what I'd do. The one area I'm not sure about are the guards on the hard bags. I don't like their looks, but I've had friends drop their bikes and they do a good job of protecting them.

I did pretty much the same thing with my Road Glide. Get a quick detach kit and you've got the best of both worlds.

Some bikes have to grow on me. So far that one is more of a wart than a beauty mark to me.

I like the SG best. Detachables...well it's already been said.
Don't you have to be at an advanced age to own an Electra Glide? Some sort of AARP membership?
