Took her for a ride yesterday and made sure to snap some pictures out of the garage. Surrounding the bike is my Firebolt, my buddy's '86 XLH and his '98 Vette.

Then I did a little playing around in paint (I don't have photoshop, lol) to put the stock length front end on and the stock solo seat. Doing that, along with installing the front brake and a factory exhaust system are the projects for this winter.

That last picture looks a lot like my old '60 XLCH did. When I sold it I had a high "dirt bike" style exhaust on it. Stock HD part. Never could get the front forks to stop leaking oil even after being rebuilt by an old dealer/machinist. Lots of trouble but it was lots of fun when it did run!

No I do not miss it! God bless electric start!!!!!!

That high pipe is uber rare. I saw one go on ebay a couple weeks ago - stock take off, a bit rusty and grimey, no heat sheilds and it went for over $500.

Back in 1982 I paid $75 for it from a dealer that had it on the shelf since the '60's still wrapped in wax paper. Not chromed but did have the heat shield on it. Lucky for me cause a bout a year later they had a fire and lost their "warehouse" shed full of parts AND bikes dating back to the early 40' late 30's....a sad day for all of us.
