picked up new xb9s last tuesday, weather hasnt cooperated other than to ride it home.observations and questions. can the xb9 cruise at 90 mph indefinitely, it definitely doesnt shift as nice as a jap bike yet,got the service manual, not bad but every motorcycle manufacturer should just copy hondas design, photography, and layout of service manuals.after test riding this bike you dont go home and forget about it, it grabs you.reminds me when i got off a 73 suzuki tm 400 mx and started racing a 74.5 MAICO GP 400,what a revelation.ok ime 48 years old ,half of you dont know what ime talkin about . anyway i also like thumpers, have a KTM 625 SMC also, wanted a twin for longer hiway legs, was contemplating the suzuki SV 650 or 1000,then i test rode the buell ,it grabbed me.the SVs are great fast dependable bikes, but not quite as unique.i have owned the 650 before,it would go across the country at 100 mph no problem. i dont want the buell to be africkin suzuki, but can it take a thrashin and keep on tickin'. .....thanx ps ...my clutch pull is very easy !? am i just a tuff ol b....ard or did they change something? |

Welcome to Buell and the BadWeB! I have a -12S so I can't answer all your questions, but mine started shifting more smoothly, pulling harder, and cruising easier as the miles wore on (now at 2075). Big difference after the 1000 mile service. And, I've installed all kinds of go-fast goodies, appearance, and ergonomic/control stuff just to suit me. Again, welcome to "the dark side!" |

Sokota, get through break in and then put Mobil 1 Full Synthetic Gear Oil in the tranny, that will help shifting even more. I know what you mean about how the bike gets under your skin and just kind of grabs you... |
