>>>>If you have a good Buell dealer, the XBs seem quite reliable,

Whether you have a good, bad or no dealer the XB is proving, in actual service, to be one of the most reliable motorcycles EVER manufacturered.

The Buell XB series is proving to be one of the most reliable motorcycles ever made. Fact based on warranty $$ per unit manufacturered.
My disagreement was,if you have a bad dealer, that doesn't do quality work on your Buell, the reliability goes way down.I will not be taking mine to the local Harley/Buell dealer anymore.

Bellsguns...my best riding buddy was trying to sell me his Ducati 900 Monster last summer. I declined, for a couple of reasons: I did not want to see him sell it; he was asking IMO too much for it; I've ridden it, but I had already ridden a Buell (plus, his M900 has no tach!). I've found a brand-new, leftover 03 XB9R for just a bit more than his used '96 Duc, and since I have to finance either bike, there's no comparison (HD is offering me a good financing deal). I'd only consider the Duc if I was a Duc fanatic (like my buddy), but I haven't been initiated to that club yet.

All that said, the ST3 sure looks nice...

I don't know if your quote was directed at me as a insult, but oh well.I have no personal stake in Buell Motor Co.,I will not sugar coat the history with my bike.My bike has had problem,I commute with my bike ,no track days or battletrax, and I have had problems, sorry thats just the way it is.I have ppl I work with and ppl I ride with who loved my bike and said they would be interested in one,how many of those ppl do you think wants a Buell now?I am sure this is not typical, but it is typical with my bike in particular.

If it is any help, Bellsguns, I bought a 2000 X-1 a year and a half ago from my local dealer. It had the complete race kit and was awesome. I ended up having alot of problems with it, and I ended up taking it in for repairs quite often, All of them were covered under warranty and I ended up getting it lemon lawed. Buell bought back the bike, gave me my downpayment back and even payed the interest back on the loan I had paid. They didn't charge me miles either about 7,500 in one year and the bike was in the shop for a total of 76 days. I was so hooked on Buells though that the second I got all the money back from Buell, I put a deposit on a 2005XB12R and I got it a month later. I of course went through a different dealer because the service department manager was mad at me when I told him what happened and I will never spend a dime in that place. Buell was great through the whole thing and they stand behind their bikes.

>>>I don't know if your quote was directed at me as a insult

Absolutely not. It was in reference to some of the mechanics who work on these bikes.

Your opinion was stated politely and sincerely; no need for insult in this discussion.

Apologies for any misleading statement that it might have been....not my style.

No apology needed,I kind of thought you were talking about some mechanics, just like to make sure. With all that behind us,I would probably buy another Buell.
