i used rustolem spray paint flat black i did 2 coats primer and 2 coats paint and 2 coats clear.
i would have used automotive spary because we have everything to do that but i didnt want to have to buy new hardware for the pully.
im not going to be using the mirrors. my mirrors broke when i wrecked and i dont have the money to replace them yet. The block off plates are temp untill i get some extra money. They were free to make and look damn sexy.

How hard was it to polish the frame?
How did you do it?

Norrie.

the block off plates are from the org. mirrors i just grinded the eyelet off the top so that it was flat and then i sanded it and polished it.
on the frame i used 220 grit sand paper to strip the powder coat. then wet sanded with 320 - 400 - 600 - 800 - 1000 - 1500, then took a polishing wheel on a air tool with some rouge and i polished it. Each side of the frame took about 4 hours. the swing arm took about 8

Your bike looks great. Did you have to sand or strip your wheels before painting?

I'm not a fan of polishing or chroming but I'm sure when you're done you'll have it nice and clean and shiny. Are you going to polish the frame near the forks, or can you? I can't believe how anyone would want to ride without any mirrors. Especially if you like doing wheelies, it's gonna suck when you pull one up and theres a cop RIGHT behind you...and you didn't notice him simply because you don't have mirrors. What if your tires were showing the cords, would you say "well I don't have the money right now for new tires, but I still want to ride."? Not trying to jump on anyone but c'mon...no mirrors, really?

yeah im going to get some pics this weekend.
I have it all back togeather but it has been raining and i got it all muddy so i have to wait for the rain to stop so i can wash it for some pics.
I dont do wheelies any more i used to wheelie the crap out of my 03 zx6r untill i wrecked it on a 2nd gear stand up at about 60 and rashed up my arms. Fxcking around on bikes isnt cool for me anymore its not worth the time or the money. I had my fair share of fun with wheelies and im done with that. Your talking about pulling up wheelies on the street but your scared to ride with out mirrors? to each thier own. its hard to ride with out mirrors untill you get used to it then its pretty easy.

Yeah, I'm not real concerned about the danger of myself popping a few wheelies on the street. I'm far far more concerned about whats behind me, the soccer mom in an Expediation yapping on her cell phone whos running late to pick up little Johnny from practice. You know what you're doing, you know your skills, but does the driver behind you know what he/she's doing? Not all the time...

I was running without mirrors for a couple days, I got to paranoid someone was gonna hit me and put em back on. I do like the look of the bike without them so I think I am gonna put on bar end mirrors.

I don't know what you're talking about, unless the only time you've used your mirrors was when you were stopped. I can see just fine while the bike is moving. I'm with New12r, I get too spooked without it.

Ilikehotchicks; What kind of rear turn signals do you have? I've been looking for some lo profile lights that are bright enough for daytime...
