One more thing....I didn't do anything for blinkers cause I got the LED with the blinkers built in from Al at http://www.americansportbike.com/. |

Dave you should be careful about posting jobs for yourself or friends here without being a sponsor. I found out the hard way and kinda received an chewing. Sponsors pay good money to market their services on the badweb, so you may receive some negative feedback from your first post, just a warning. |

And that Bracket from Dark Horse kicks @ss! Nice and light. Lines up perfect with the holes the turn signal wires used to come out of. Nice bend so the License Plate is still visible so ya don't have to worry about problems with the "5-0". I'll be putting mine back together this Friday along with my custom made turn signals and will be sure to post pics. |

Guys, I am negligent getting the pictures of the new bracket posted to DHM's web site. I'll post one of just the bracket and one with it bolted to my XB9S. Here is the bracket after I painted it: Please note that my conversion is not quite complete... The bracket is light weight, low profile, uses existing holes in the tail for mounting, and makes use of existing lighting for the license plate. It is amazing just how different the bike looks sans "cheese grater". Let me know what you guys think. Keith |

Correct. Daveinm, thanks for posting the picutures and the description, but if your neighbor wants to solicit business, invite them to be a sponsor. No chewing though, it's easy to be on the wrong side of the non sponsor advertising policy. We don't hold it against people unless they are repeat offenders, but we do ask them to stop or buy a sponsorship. |

Ok, sorry about soliciting without being a sponsor, but it's not like we're starting a huge business here. Entirely irrelevent. No sponsorship, no marketing, no sales, no soliciting group purchases for your buddy. Period. The only reason I posted this is because I couldn't find anyone to do this for me and I didn't want to do it myself. I don't have the tools or experience to do it. I didn't think we were stepping on any of the sponsor's toes by posting this because nobody offers it. The only thing I've found from the sponsors regarding this are replacements that are either expensive or made out of different material(fiberglass or carbon). Entirely irrelevent. No sponsorship, no marketing, no sales, no soliciting group purchases from your buddy. Period. If nobody is interested in having it done, he's not going to pay for a sponsorship. Without a sponsorship no one is permitted to conduct market surveys. Period. If there were a good number of people, I'm sure he'd have no problem becoming a sponsor. How much is it to become a sponsor? Entirely irrelevent. No sponsorship, no marketing, no sales, no soliciting group purchases for your buddy. Period. Others far more patient than I have politely warned you against conducting marketing research or soliciting sales here. Please simply honor our policy which is in force not to punish you or anyone, but to protect the people who pay to keep this site up and running. People like Keith, and Al, and all the other outstanding sponsors BadWeB is honored to have. Thank you for understanding. and now would you PLEASE drop the issue? Understood, I don't think anyone thought there were any bad intentions. One of the benefits of being a sponsor is being able to pitch stuff like this for marketing research, so we want to protect that for them as well. They make the site possible, bandwidth and hosting charges for a site like this add up FAST. I will send you sponsorship costs offline. They are not insignificant, but are not prohibitively expensive either. |

Iron Machine is selling a part that has no cheese grater that looks really similar that isn't to over priced. It's fiberglass but I bet it's strong. |

I don't think you could chrome, powder coat, or polish(obviously) fiberglass or carbon. That's why I decided against the fiberglass one. I want to get the piece chromed. The carbon one is cool, but it still has the fender on it and it's a little pricey. |

I can't believe this isn't the way the bike came from the factory. I hope the guys who designed and signed off on the cheese grater are watching this. |

I like it when you have to make some modification to the original design, its fun changing your bike and making modifications. What would be the fun in have a bike that was perfect from the factory. Then we would have nothing to do in the winter. |

Al, You know I support you. Between me, my brother, and lazyme, we just spent almost $3000 with you. I post links to your site and refer to you products all the time when I'm posting. However, I don't think that piece is worth $330+, especially after spending $300+ on the LED. Regardless, I don't remember seeing that on your site when we were putting our list of items together though, but I'm sure it was there |

Dave, I know, and I appreciate your business. But we do have that part, and have had it on the web site for some time. To put the pricing in perspective, the $334.95 part is for a brand new one. We give $62.00 for the tail if you send us yours. It comes with a stainless LP bracket with the turn signal hard points, which is worth, say, $50 (Storz LP brackets with less complexity are $58 MSRP). The ones we sell are already color match painted, which costs as well. Plus, we machine in the hole for the LP illumination and LP mounting, and I spend about an hour on each one with hand blending all the corners cleanly and assembling. So the pricing isn't as far out of line with that $150 that your neighbor mentioned as it may seem without looking at the details. We have to pay for sponsorship somehow No worries, I just didn't want anyone to think that we didn't have that part. The one your neighbor did for you looks good. Did he add the hold for the LP illumination, since your LED assy is firing that light down that direction thru the clear window? Left a message for Jon yesterday about the heel guards he was looking for...could you have him call me? Thanks Dave, Al |

Al, I didn't have him cut a spot for the license plate light. Personally, I'm not concerned about getting pulled over for that. Besides, the LED is so damn bright it's probably illuminating the license plate enough without cutting the bottom out. I'm sure your pricing on the piece is justified. I wouldn't buy from you if I thought you were over priced. Maybe you should offer it unfinished. Some people, me included, would rather polish it or get it finished on their own. I have a good chromer local that is pretty inexpensive. If you priced an unfinished piece at say $200-$225, minus the discount for sending in your existing one, that would have been right up my alley. Anyway, Jon was looking for the passenger heel guards in chrome, but he said he found them on ebay for like 20 bucks. So he said not to worry about it. |
