I have been lurking on this board for years. Always loved the looks and concept of the XB9R, and the idea that it was an American sports bike...read and studied everything I could. Finally came upon a deal for a slightly used 2003 XB9R that I couldn't refuse, so now I have jumped in the pool, deep end and all : )

Took the new "baby" out for a 200 mile maiden voyage today. Had a great time. Everything seem to work well. Did have a slight front end shake at about 60 during deceleration and a slight vibration with front brake. Nothing major. Tire pressure was according to book before I left. Front tire might be slightly out of balance or may need to re-torque the steering head bearing

My R1 wasn't happy about any of this though, she is getting a bit jealous. This is normally her run time

I probably have visited this board almost daily for 2+ years and have learned a lot about the bike. Now I just need to become proficient at researching in the Knowledge Vault in order to go back and relearn for my personal application.

Also, want to order the service manual and parts manual, plus the frame sliders. I enjoy tinkering a little, just enough to be dangerous. Plus, the nearest Buell dealer is about 1 hour away, so it looks like I will need to jump right into it
