I know this was talked about in two different threads but I,m a little confused. I had my TPS reset an it idles down from 2000 rpms a little slow. It does return back and idle around 1050 rpm. Someone said for me to turn my idle down alittle but I'm confused as to why that would change how fast the rpm comes down from around 2000 rpm. I thought the factory says the idle should be 1050. Someone else also said that they had there TPS reset and now it idles down slow from 2000. Should I have the TPS reset again or just turn the idle down a little bit.

Is the butteryfly open a little to much that it pulls to much air past the throttle body which in turn adds more fuel in effect makes the motor spin down slower from around 2000 rpm if so why does it idle at the factory recommended setting?

Chad, Glitch was right in his suggestion of lowering your idle speed. It will only need a SMALL adjustment to be effective. This should fix your problem. The cable will flex somewhat when you turn it with an allen wrench so do a little at a time to get where you need. Make sure it's warmed up good also......Later, Odie

I'll give it a try, the weather here sucks right now. Its going to be cold for a while yet. The next time its so half warm I will get out and warm it up real good then slowly adjust it down.

Does anyone know why it does this?

Mine does this too since the install of the Techlusions box. If I'm running mildly hard from stopsign to stopsign. it will slooowly idle down from 2500rpms to 1100. Sometimes I'll just let the clutch out enough to force it down to 1100.

How are you all determining what the idle speed is set at? By the bike's tach? If so, that's the problem. The bike's tach cannot accurately indicate the actual RPM. It merely gives you a ball park figure (at least on my XB). I use the Techno Research tool for accurate reading. On mine, if the idle is set higher than 1050 RPM, it will stutter around 1800 RPM before coming down to the idle.

Hey Dcmortalcoil what can you all do with the Techno Research tool besides reseting the tps, adjusting the idle ????

Dcmortalcoil,

That rpm reading came from the computer screen when the bike was hooked up at the dealer. They set the idle at 1050 + a little. I will turn down the idle screw a little at a time to see if that corrects it.
