A 1969 RoadRunner went Beep Beep but no one laughed at that car.

yea man but the roadrunner's cartoon signature was the beep beep. The beep beep doesn't really bother me though. I don't ride around honking at everyone I see anyways. I prefer to use my exhaust notes to warn or say hello.

Forget the horn, they should install electric shock device in the seats of all cagers and when you press the "horn button" it gives a jolt to any cagers in a particular radius. They will remember to look for motorcycle's after the second time they are shocked.

Find a way to mount an air horn. Imagine the look of people when they hear it and think a semi is on it's way.

Lastcyclone, you think the stock horn is bad, I have a stock one that is sick. From the day I bought the bike my horn has sounded like a it has something stuck in it and it is dying, I mean it makes people laugh, all the guys I ride with laugh at it all the time, actually the only time I ever really use it is to get a laugh.

Isn't there an air horn manufacture called Buell?

Yes, but some of them Buell air horns are as long or longer than a Buell bike.

Here's a link to pics:

I like using the passing lamp switch, that can confuse a cager, I do like the air horn idea. Go to the local marine supply store and buy a portable unit for about $8.00. That will get some attention.

So the year 2000 M2 horns are way louder than the XB's huh? Can that horn be a direct replacement of the XB's horn with no extensive modification on mounting?

Actually any horn from any tube frame bike.
Takes a little to fit it in. I used one bracket instead of the two supplied. Seem to bend eisier.
3500 miles later, no trouble, but lots of use.

Thank you for the reply, Lastcyclone. So all the horns from the tubers are the same?

I'm not familiar with the tubers, which was the last tuber that came out? If I order the horn from the most recent tube model, I think it would be easier for the dealership to get the horn.

Thank you!

I ordered one from an 02 M2. The last year of tube models. After you remove (and discard) the moped like original from your XB, try to point the business end of the new one downward. It will fit with a bit of wiggling and pushing of wires. Try the single bracket, it seemed to work fine. I'm not sure who thought it was a good idea to use the stock XB horns on an American made bike? No respect with that one.

I got the new horn, '02 M2. Took out the front fairing and the light assembly to gain access to the stock horn and its two wiring. Hooked up the new horn and pressed the horn button. HELL, doesn't sound good / loud AT ALL!!

The initial 1/2 second sounds awesome, then it sounds like it has a leak and can't build up pressure to really blast the sound out of the horn. Could it be there isn't enough juice going to the horn and need direct wiring from the battery with a relay set up?

What is going on?!! I took the new honk out and just moved the stock horn to outside. Hope that helps a little since the stock horn location is cover deep inside the front behind wiring, light assembly and the fairing.

Please help. For those of you who used 02 M2's horn on XB, is it sounding loud without modification of wiring?
