Got the $60 Dipstick from American sport Bike and it's just a forward from Banke Engineering. Looks to be pretty good, but I am still a bit skeptical of the length compared to the stock one. Guess since I just changed the oil with 2.5qts(w/filter), I'll mark the stick and that'll be it for "topped off"...
Not sure it's worth $60, but looks cooler than plastic!
Just ranting!

Kaveman/Al/Daves

Kaveman...you just got one so I want your feedback as a user...Al and Daves...suppliers of said item...does the billet dipstick come with some kind of o-ring to make a good seal?

I have used billet sticks on other bikes too. Do I have to determine where on the dang stick the fill/overfull, etc is located, or is it pretty much close to stock?

Al/Daves...I realize each of you provide different sticks...maybe different comparisons.

Thanks Guys...Cyko Bob

The one we sell is the Banke. Yes, it has an "O"-ring to make a good seal. The stick has a flat area with gentle crosshatching to help hold the oil film, is easy to tell where is right. At least on user said that he scored a line on his for where he wanted it to be when he checked it, that is a trivial thing to do.

Cyko Bob,
I have the American Sport Bike dipstick. There is an o-ring and the threads have a good grip on the threads so it doesn't back out. The only mod required was a score to match the OEM dipstick level marks. I am convinced the bike is faster with this doodad (could be a perception problem).

Thanks Guys. This was not a very technical question, but just the kind of feedback I was looking for...Cyko Bob
