I get the impression a lot of times when someone post as Anonymous, some members may think it's erik buell. Maybe it is, and that is great. A lot of time the information Anonymous
post is outstanding. I can see not wanting to give out an email address, so don't show your email address. Maybe I am missing the point. If someone can enlighten me, all the better.
I believe I have heard it's something to due with some sort of legal reasons, is it?
considering the members here are the most faithful and hardcore buell fans gathered in one place, I would think all the future info that could be given...would!

Some people don't like subscribing to thinks...paranoia or an aversion to providing their email address to someone.

The anony feature is for when someone is going to post info or is posting while working under a Non-Disclosure agreement in which participation on a discussion board is strictly prohibited. The Anony feature here is monitored by the moderators and if you do not have a sufficient and valid reason for posting Anony, the moderators will reveal you out with ridicule ; ) ok, they will simply reveal you out mostly : )

"Some people don't like subscribing to thinks...paranoia or an aversion to providing their email address to someone."

Those posts would be "un-anonymized" here. They need a valid reason to post anonymously.

Who's "Eric"? To the Hall of Shame with you! ; )

Thank you Wycked and M1. : )

Simply put some participants would not be able to participate here without being guaranteed anonymity. Their reasons are valid, verified, and their anonymity approved by your humble BadWeB staff. Anyone abusing the anony option will indeed be exposed and admonished for doing so. Like it says next to the option... "Valid reason required. Abusers will be exposed. If unsure, ask." I think that pretty much says all anyone need know about the issue. : )

Also, the best way to chase off anonymous sources of information would be to start hypothesizing about their identities. So please consider that and let's please simply end this thread, please.

Not sure I follow that logic. When a flow of information comes in, It's nice to know if it's from a reliable source. Posting as anonymous can work both ways. Lots of people think just because "Anonymous" said something, it's gospel. We are not talking about "SkunkWorks" and revamping SR-71s to spy on the Soviet union. we are talking about motor bikes. If you want to share, share.

In other words... if we make like detectives & try figuring out who is who, the anonymous posters with valid info are not gonna post anymore for fear of being exposed which would/could make them lose their jobs thus depriving us of really good info.
I think we should all do as Blake asks on this one & let it end.

But we might find the 2nd shooter on the grassy noll...

Seriously, this board is about the BIKES,

and the people that have a passion for them. We should be glad that we have such an informative place on the web that is damn-near as addictive as the bikes we love, take in as much as we can from it and leave it at that.

IMHO, this thread is

Just think about it for a second, if people could lose their jobs over it then do you really care about their screen name or if you can PM them. Just let it go, and decide for yourself if you want to believe what they post. Because if they lose their job then they will not be able to pay for their internet and will not post anyway.

Signed Anonymous!!!

Well I for one know who Anonymous can be at times, because I asked him and he confirmed that it was in fact he who authored a certain post.

Now I can't tell you who he was or I might have to kill you to keep it secret!
