Ya it was nice blue, but everyone with an 03 XB9R has a blue bike or maybe white, I wanted something a little different. | ||

Looks good Tim.  I have been looking at some of the Buells on the web that appear to be painted black and orange. I was actually thinking, I wonder if Buell will ever come out with that color? Being as the 12 has a black frame, the orange seems a natural to me. Sweet...Cyko Bob | ||

Looks good - I think going to orange from blue is good for 1.7 HP on the dyno - don't have test data but I read it on the internet! Kinda nice seeing an "other than" color! | ||

I like it. This is why I'm painting mine. Just so it is something different than the blue and white ones. Don't get me wrong, I don't see any XB9R's around here, let alone I've only seen 2 12's. So, it's not like my blue would be the same as every other bike. | ||

Looks good. Maybe if you used the black "Buell" raised lettering on the airbox it would help to tie in the the black of the pucks and the windscreen. I also agree that the rear cowl done in matching orange would be a nice addition. Nice job as is though. (Message edited by timbo on February 06, 2005) | ||

First orange colored bike I like. Not a big fan of orange, but yours just looks really really nice. Going to put the Buell decals on the airbox? | ||

I know this is going to sound wierd but I actually like it now that it's not blue. For some reason it looked odd to me. A Firebolt fairing with an S tail section. The fact that it was blue made it worse on me. My brain kept wanting to see the familiar bolt but it wouldn't/couldn't register. Now that it's orange it looks cool the way it is. Yeah I know.. I have a messed up mind. It definitely does not work like a normal one. Anyway...... Good Job! She's very pretty. | ||

For the tank I'm not sure what I want to do. I have thought about the black Buell raised letters but that is also on every XB. I have been contemplating the Pegasus logo. I can't put the rear cowling on because I have a Corbin Gunfighter seat coming and I'm pretty sure it will not fit over it. | ||

Thansesxb9rs, very, very nice. A job well done. If you do go for the Corbin, they can make the "tail section" of the seat to match your paint. Me, I like it just the way you have it. Bet it's a real head turner! | ||

Thanks everyone, ya Glitch it got a lot of looks this weekend, someone liked it so much they gave me a ticket. Future plans: Black rims for sure, I just got my corbin and it's all black (but I like the look of the seat without the cowl), maybe a little color change to the frame, a call to Araon at Nallins (I can't let Sams have the only XB14). The exhaust I have looks stock but definately is not. I want to get the force headers also, probably have to add the techlusion then. |
