Psssst. There's no way your p.o.s. Buell could possibly have that many miles.

jk

I think it's funny how the average joe thinks these things won't last.

And not to beat dead horses here, and it's none of my business, but the first engine failure may have been entirely preventable.

As I recall the story, I think XB9Rski did all the right things, I think somebody else made a bad call, and a third party then stepped up and did the right thing and made things right again. A good outcome to a potentially bad situation.

If I am guessing right, the "engine failure" was originally a sub $500 repair.

Wyckedflesh, I know you ride a XB12R and that they come with the clip on the front oil lines. So, just how in the world did you rub through them?

Its not an XB12R...its an XB12S with an R front end. It did not come with the clip and the dealer wouldn't put one on who repaired the lines so now it has 2 zipties as spacers.

Zip ties! Good idea Wycked... I had to shove a rubber grommet under my oil lines so they wouldn't rub the muffler anymore. I'll have to implement the zip ties as well up front. I still have no rubbing problem, but I'm not looking for one either...

Why? the Zip ties are unnoticable, and as fitted, one around the lines, and one around the middle of the first but between the lines holds it just as securely. Its been that way for almost a year now. In otherwords, I am not going to fix what is no longer broken : )

I found a rock stuck in my drive belt, but it's still plugging along fine and fits the serviceable description in the manual. I'm going to buy a spare anyway though...Just in case.

Hey Wycked, E-mail me and let me know what you're doing now... Just being nosey.
