On January 18th, I went to my local HD/Buell dealer. I ordered my race ecu, streetfighter seat, K&N, XB12 airbox lid, service manual and a few other small things. They do give me 15% on Buell parts because I bought my XB9s from them. Anyway, everything came in around a week later. EXCEPT the seat. They didn't seem real sure why it would take that long. Has anyone else ordered this seat and had to wait that long? The parts lady thought they might be made when ordered like Corbin seats are.

It seams I don't have much choice other than to wait. I wanted something a bit more comfortable and would help keep me from sliding back everytime I get on the gas. I only know of this seat and the Corbin. I didn't really want to pay the extra cost for the Corbin, and if they are made to order also, the I would have to wait for it anyway.

They aren't made to order.
Not sure if they're back ordered of not.
I do know however, it's probably worth your wait, I love mine.

>>>The parts lady thought they might be made when ordered like Corbin seats are.

They are not "pulled" (made to order) but they are a "vendor direct" item. I'll pass this on, perhaps the inventory replenishment level needs a look-see.

Let us know how you like it.

I think something like this happened last year about this time. *I think* If you have an inventory of parts, you kind of let orders go towards the end of the year, so you don't have to count everything all over again. Inventory time is not a good time to order anything.

I know that I had to just wait for a right passenger foot peg that was on back order for a few weeks. What was odd was that there were plenty of left ones. Guess folks are wiping out on the right side too often.

My local dealer just greatly increased the size of their building. I would think they could stock SOME buell parts. I had to order everything. The only thing in stock for Buells is out on the showroom (except the stockpile of bikes they had when I bought mine). Mostly wearable stuff, and a few "show" pieces. I guess there just isn't a big Buell following around here to warrant much inventory.

I did realize this when I ordered, but had no idea the seat would take so long when everything else was only a week out. Oh well, not like I will be going on many LONG rides before mid Feb.

Don't feel bad this seems like a normal thing with the seats. It took around a month for my touring pillion to come in

Tell me about it...my bike was hit two months ago and per my dealer, some of the parts have still not arrived.

The seat has been quite popular, but there are a host laying in stock at various dealers. Have your dealer try:

Ohio – HD of Lima
Pennsylvania – Crossroads HD or Dean’s HD
Maryland – HD of Annapolis

Yeah, but Dave wasn't an option for me. The bike was unrideable (frame and swingarm damage among others). Insurance company moved it to my dealer for repair, and it's been sitting in my dealer's garage the whole time.

The seats take a while for me too.
All vendor direct acc are that way.
Not sure why but they are.
I've been waiting for a few weeks for one for RPMChris.
I have 2 coming so the next person won't have to wait.

I ordered the streetfighter from Dave and canceled it for the Corbin Seat. Just happened when I call to cancel he had just got a Corbin in stock. Good timing I think. He has a good price on the Corbins also.
